what they really need to do is build in about 4 or 5 tiny little led lights around the edge spaced out evenly to be able to provide a readable screen in the dark without another seperate unit.
I wonder if this device will eventually be sold worldwide. I'm in Argentina and i can't wait to have something like this. But i think it's gonna be a long time, if it eventually does happen :(
For the price they are charging, it should come with a $300 credit to be used for buying Kindle books. It'd would make it feel like you're actually getting something for your money. Not forking out $350+ and still having to buy books for it to use it!
All the books for Kindle are $9 or less. It's nice that you can carry this with you instead of 4 books. I'm a bookaholic and usually have 3 or 4 books reading at the same time. I'll be in the mood for a fiction and then in the mood for something to learn etc. It would be nice to be able to just carry this around instead of the 3 or more books I'm reading around. I did have a chance to look at my brother in laws and now I want one. Hopefully I'll get one for Christmas.
Amazon should give this media away free. After all you have to pay again to download materials from them. Only suckers will pay $400 for this B/W junk. $400 can buy you a laptop these days.
the thing is books are most of the time half price on the kindle and you recive them instantly almost, now whether its worth 350 dollars idk time will tell
I think that "out of the box" is a bit different than for the rest of us people. I've watched another out of the box video here where the owner had to plug it in first, and it took a few minutes to boot up. I'm sure Amazon booted yours up before sending it to you. Nit pick, I know, but still, not as accurate an "out of box" experience as one would think.
i have the black kindle

For people who like to prepare for taking things out of a box.
it might be a bit to much unfamiliarity to just fucking wing it when it arrives.

I want one....but not for the current price.

The price is only because you also get a 3G network and no monthly service fee. Anyway a 9.99 book compared to a 17.85 book is great =).
