  • They are merely measuring how deep the repair has to be.

    They know the cause... settling of the roadbase..random defect in the quality of the roadbase... first a small amount of settling causes cracking of the bitumen.Then rain water penetrates through the cracks and washes the smaller particles out of the roadbase.

    So the equipment is indicating how deep the damage to the roadbase is.. just so they know if they should just seal over to make it flat, or dig it up and replace roadbase.

  • Near my house those helicopters sure are noisy.

  • I saw no sinkhole.
