  • 2:34 marinated what?

  • shouldn't he be eating it fish side down?

  • Sushi is 30% technique and 70% product. If you have top of the line product, you're more than halfway towards great sushi. Unfortunately a lot of people screw up the 30% technique part by trying to do too much. Sushi is simplicity.

  • I just don't get sushi. I've eaten in australia and japan some sushi that was regarded as some of the best around and at the very best I can say is that it was pretty nice. I just don't get how this type of food is worthy of 3* when you compare what is involved with whats involved in pretty much any 3* restaurant in europe. Maybe Im missing something, and Id like to try 3* sushi but I just don't get how this food is considered equal to that of say a complete dish by Bernard Pacaud.

  • Thing about sushi is, you have to make it quick (temperature of hands vs. cold and fresh fish) yet the fish is stuck on the rice so well that a wind of 244 mph (typhoon speed) can't knock it away. Yet there is no tight packing involved cause you dont want to crush the rice. It takes 30+ years to make real sushi

  • Each piece of fish is worth 17.50 USD lol

  • @makidude 25.76USD rather lol 30000JPY on their website

  • @jeffercub Even worse than I thought. I can eat out at a top tier restaurant here in Vancouver for around one hundred fifty dollars for 2.

  • 流曬口水

    有得睇冇得食

    應該好好味

  • Hold this great but..i want a cup of tea to go with it.

  • he seems like a cool guy :)

  • I can respect that. But I feel bad about killing our birds from the sea. Even thou I'm a Skinhead that don't give a fuck about anything but some fishes can't protect them selfs from the inhuman vicious ways.

  • Love sushi, especially the Japanese culture. Can't wait to visit!

  • fucking Asians...they blow my mind away

  • @TheNewAlias Fucking Asians, how do they work?!

  • @pellevinken self-discipline and determination, something a lot of people aren't capable of doing

  • @k1dpoison Sorry, I took it for granted that everyone was aware of this meme. ;) It's the lyrics from Insane Clown Posse. It goes "fucking magnets, how do they work?!". Enjoy your sushi!

  • @pellevinken oh crap i cant believe i noticed that. lmao u fooled me i didn't even notice the meme :P

  • @k1dpoison ... some high-quality trolling on my part, then! ;)

  • can't wait to watch the jiro documentary

  • Jiro is certainly beyond a proficient sushi chef. He's in a league of his own! Mr Bourdain is very lucky!

  • this is to amazing for words....

  • such a lucky guyyy damnnn

  • @mahara32 こんな所にまで沸くのか・・在日Korean

  • What is that he is brushing on? Is it JUST soy sauce or a blend?

  • @coolvid Probably not just soy. It could be soy reduced with sugar, or with other ingredients.

  • @coolvid

that's a kind of blend, i mean it looks like it.

  • This is art.

Can't wait to get the movie....

  • @TheTrismegistos

my parents watched the movie, and i kinda feel intimitaded by this guy.. cause i have sushi restaurant myself :p but huge respect for him, says my parents..

    i think it's a real good documentary..

  • $400, 30 minutes

  • Compared to fast food it is expensive and doesn't fill you up, sure. But this isn't about simply filling your stomach - this is the kind of place you go to to experience something.

  • @Sezuki Yeah I'll tell you what you experience at these super expensive places, a nice room to eat in, sushi you can get anywhere else, and a hole massive in your wallet.

  • @squezey1 This isn't sushi that you can get anywhere else - that is kind of why it is so expensive. If sushi of similar quality was readily available and cheaper, places like this wouldn't exist.

  • Jiro's legacy was just showcased in a film called "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" during the San Diego Film Festival =)

  • You are sitting in a small hushed room eating some ridiculously over-priced morsels rice of wrapped with fish. You are not free to eat, speak at your content because the chef is breathing down your neck. You are letting an old Japanese dude fondle your food with his bare hands. Sounds like the worst restaurant imaginable, yet sushi is inexplicably so popular.

  • @jyozeff hehe well what you said could be rephrased like this ... "You are sitting in a small tranquil room eating some sublime morsels of rice wrapped in high quality fresh fish. You are free to express culinary enjoyment, and converse with the chef who is available in front of you. You are letting an experienced Japanese master prepare your food with care with his skillful hands. Sounds like the best restaurant imaginable, and explains why sushi is so popular." Just a different perspective :D

  • I've just realized I've never had "true Sushi". I have to settle for those pre packaged supermarket sushi :(

  • I bet this place doesn't even sell volcano rolls. Who wants that?

  • 4:20 a shadow clone!

  • @FiredEmpire

    評論家の 山本 益博 さんですな...

  • why are you asking a white guy who is clueless about japanese food and the culture to JUDGE a japanese dish??? to him, all sushi taste the same. a real judge should be a japanese food critic who's been eating sushi all his life and understand the culture and meaning behind it. a white guy doesn't understand any of this stuff. they eat buffalo wings with heavy sauces and a diet pepsi.

  • @tangjkd Well, the guy two chairs down from the white guy is a famous Japanese food critic named Masuhiro Yamamoto, so I am guessing that he was involved in suggesting this place. Now I think I'll go eat some buffalo wings with heavy sauces and drink a diet Pepsi.

  • I noticed that Anthony B. ate every sushi with the rice-side down. So I would say he ate a lot of sushi rice (which is actually the best part); but I would turn them at least sideway, or even fish-side down to taste the freshness of each fish.

  • Wow. That's amazing sushi<3 I want to try it!

  • whats the name of this place? how can i go there if i dont know the name!

  • @MrEnzo150181

Sukiyabashi Jiro - by Mr. Jiro Ono (Tokio)

Oh i see. enjoy your meal.

  • @ys1337

  • @nobordercool yeah go eat some rice and calm down bro

  • @ys1337

Yeah , I'm sure I will eat Japanese rice with Kobe beef which are less than your African food.

  • @nobordercool i doubt that a troll can fford kober and for your amusement spain is not in africa but in europe

  • @ys1337

  • @nobordercool im from spain dude

  • It's like receiving freaking holy communion.

  • didnt he say that you dont eat anything with your fingers? he ate everything with his fingers...

  • @maxgo111 It's the other way around; he said "you don't use anything, but your fingers"

  • to those people who dont eat sushi often there are so many level of quality when preparing suishi. i been to many suishi place and when ever i try a better quality sushi place, it always amaze me how higher quality of preparing sushi taste even better. its almost fine tuning cream in your mouth.

i like sushi with wasabi but high quality sushi should be eating without one to feel the full quality of it.

  • If you would try good Sushi with lower price. I recommend you to come smaller city, not Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka

North, South, East, West, Pacific ocean and Sea of Japan, each place has his own fishes and special style of sushi.

I strongly recommend you some place facing to Sea of Japan, Nigata or Kanazawa... You can take excellent Sushi around $20.

  • For example, I never mind that I cook so that the French fit French preference.

However, please stop the Japanese food of the imitation pretending the Japanese and being offered.

I want you to enjoy it after having known the true Japanese-style dish to people of the world.

  • charge 1person $400

  • @chinchowpowpook That sounds amazing, never thought of doing that before

  • The man is 100% correct, perfect can never be, but near perfect you can. It has nothing to do with not putting your best effort forward, it has to do with every time you do something, it's different from the last and might be better in some areas then the previous etc.

  • The sauce he's brushing on the sushi has LSD in it.

  • @Chnamanjx was that supposed to be funny cuz you just sound stupid.

  • real sushi .

  • Thank you USA!

  • omg i want to be jiro's disciple

  • Jiro is great but pretty expensive. I love Naka at 41st Ave., Santa Cruz. He is the best Sushi Chef in the US. I'm missing Naka-san.

  • This is definitely the pinacle of sushi making.

    Great master aswell.

  • it doesnt matter who makes sushi --;; as long as its fresh --

  • @TheRoyalShield fresh frozen you mean?

  • LUCKY BASTARDS!

  • LOL, raw fish is considered an art form?

You serve ANYTHING in a nice plate, and a nice place, and peopel will automaically think its good.

  • @thetito626 It is an art form... Look up the requirement for becoming a sushi chef in japan...

  • @thetito626 fuck you, you do realize that steamed vegetables and spaghetti-o's (the shit that you eat) does not deserve to be called food. 3 michelin stars, centuries of tradition, and you insult it? fuck you and fuck every dish that you have ever "cooked", oh wait, I mean microwaved

  • No hands my ass

  • Fantastic

  • i luv sushi its the best!

  • i'll stick my hamburger thank you

  • @skordijhl Ignorant... you make america look bad. If you dont like sushi dont watch a video on it.

  • so cool

  • so cool

  • wow theres 1 dislike, must be cuz hes dead so hes sad and therefore hits dislike.

  • wow theres 1 dislike

  • i saw this on a plane 2 years ago

  • @SoccerFreak8LT oh, PLEASE do tell us MORE!

  • The sushi shop in Europe is not Japanese. The South Korean and Chinese pretend the Japanese and it manages it.

  • @otokomaedayo japanese food, only japanese can make it?!!!? You go to japanese own japanese resturant amigos works in the kitchen ㅡ,ㅡ;;;; And unlike Japanese, they are fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what made you think that Korean people want to pretend being a japanese? Koreans don't pretend anything, we just doing the business.

  • @otokomaedayo hell yeah .. it will be too expensive if the Sushi-yas in USA run by Japaneses.. so let those cheap chinese run it .. lol

  • @otokomaedayo not everywhere. there is an unbelievable japanese sushi restaurant in naples; italian design and japanese chefs. ok, maybe it's not traditional (and surely the level is not the same as the restaurant in the video) but you know, it's quiet close to the original japanese cuisine

  • @otokomaedayo South Koreans and Chinese people don't pretend that they're Japanese. And all the credit goes to Japan. Is that really a problem?

  • real sushi is the ART.

ull be impressed.cant help smiling when put into ur mouth.

if u wanna experience eat the ART,go JIRO in Ginza or MIYAHA in Hamamatu-cho.

  • Who loves sushi thumbs up

  • RIP sushi master. He passed.

  • i got the munchies baddddddd

  • I reckon it costs around 50,000 JPY each person

  • I"m curious about the price... Anyone knows?

  • What is that sauce that he puts on the top of the sushi?

  • @LRKS13 I think its just soy sauce :)

  • @gamestore prob just a lil soy

  • i am hungry

  • I would like gordon ramsay to come to this place and see what he thinks about this sushi. haha.

  • this is better than urosawa or masa...this is for those who know real sushi

  • Good god. This guys been making sushi since he was 7? That's hardcore!

  • ..perfect rice, perfect seaweed, perfect UNI.. is just.. oh man, i'm ready to die now.. ^ ^

  • Anthony is so funny.

  • he almost tasted masters hand of salty.

  • Change the freaking name its not 3 start sushi it 3 michelin star restaurant. That would make it a five star restaurant.

  • I've never seen Anthony be so respectful in my life. Of course the only things he did was eat and compliment... which is abnormal.

  • how much does it cost??

  • japan can be so formal and perfect while having the weirdest and strangest shit ever haha

  • Where, when, how fast can I get a plane ticket

  • If you go here, You have to pay at least $300 for 30 minutes. Here customers are doters, Lowers and Politicians such as elite people. This is the real SUSHI. Please Don't eat sushi that made by CHINESE and KOREAN.

  • @4201044 don't be racist

  • @Shirokulo 韓国人や中国人が、"日本人と偽って"、提供している寿司は不味いだけではなく、深刻な健康被害を引き起こします。是非、真実を知ってください(^o^)/"寿司ウマー

  • @patriotdeologist how can a person of a different nationality make sushi that is dangerous to your health? Do Japanese people have special hands or something? The only thing is that Japanese people have had years of experience so the best sushi would be from Japan but saying that Koreans or Chinese people cannot make good and healthy sushi too is racist. I'm Japanese myself and I hate it when Japanese people think theyre the shit, thats why so many asian countries hate us.

  • @Shirokulo But the Japanese really are the Shit. Makes me kinda ungrateful of my race..

  • @Shirokulo but the truth is over 80% of sushi bar all over the world are managed by Chinese and Korean and, they are selling crap. How could you find good Korean and Chinese managed sushi bar in Canada?

  • @fuckinpleasure It's true. It's like the same thing as pizza. I wouldn't mind if they actual cared about sushi but you can tell that most of them just do it because it's the big things right now and they know that even shit sushi will fool the ignorants.

  • @chefkoo and one more, what the big different between sushi and others? sushi is cooked(honestly i dont wanna 'cook' sushi as Japanese) but is also raw. As you mentioned before, regarding a dangerousness and a health, what would it be happen with inexperienced technique?

and as Japanse, if we could not export sushi with our spirit, Id be with massive disappointment.

  • Lucky rich White BASTARDDD!!!>:D

  • i can tasted just by watching.

  • he eats alot lol!

  • @KatiushaVN4

    Sushi Masters don't wear gloves.

  • @KatiushaVN4 its usually more sanitary to not wear gloves and practice washing hands. gloves give an illusion of cleanliness. watch the kid in the back making your burger with gloves on...keeps his hands clean but your food covered in floor.

  • @victory01

I don't eat burger you fool

  • @KatiushaVN4 Why?

  • @chefkoo

    What why?

  • @KatiushaVN4 Why wear gloves?

  • @chefkoo

What the heck?? You follow me every step I go?? Damn you Chinese

  • @KatiushaVN4

wearing glove rules is america's rule.

and this rule makes it to unpalatable.

  • @KatiushaVN4 The only reason they are forced to wear gloves here in america is because none of us know how to be proper and wash our hands... They dont wear gloves because they have good hygiene...

  • Does anybody know why this scene was edited out of the reruns of this episode?

  • ぜったい旨いこんなの

  • that sushi course costs only $150 US, i know i visited and got the same meal.

  • @newsk8ter117 was it worth it?

  • @TooYoungToGamble it was, i usually never eat sushi with wasabi, but he just does the portion of it so prefectly. This is something that is a must before you die. You will never get sushi so fresh and delicous.

  • @newsk8ter117 cool cool, I love wasabi so... It looks so good damn.

  • Comment removed

  • Anthony Bourdains opinion is definitely overrated but I think I would enjoy this place.

  • @vicprobey LOl how can 3 michelins star be overrated ???? explain plz !!!

  • Michelin stars are overrated all together. That's like saying Green Day and Beyonce make the best music because they won a Grammy or the best movie of the year is the one that won an Oscar. Read the average review on this restaurant, I'm sure Michelin's opinion supersedes theirs because they own a tire factory i'm sure. Bourdain LOVES uni, durian, bone marrow all of which I find disgusting. Should I like it because he's on TV or because he was a mediocre chef at a mediocre restaurant in NYC?

  • @vicprobey bah comparison , no offence but its not about tv here is about reknown , your missing the point here , Creation , innovation , dedication , thats the fine dinning. and all who won michelins star got thoses attributes. so its not overrated

  • @vicprobey First off fine dining isn't just about taste. It's about customer service as well. If you don't like uni at the sushi restaurant, then a good restaurant will refund you the price, offer you some ginger to cleanse your palate, and offer you another choice. This place is excellent because the quality of the sushi is unparalleled. A true remnant of a past era in Japan.

  • Eat best sushi for pay? I'm really jealous of him.

  • omg, the uni was just food porn at its best

  • he's not even eating it correctly!!

flip the sushi so that it touches the tongue. fish side down, not rice!

  • YUM YUM YUM :) I want to go here. I can just assume that this cost a arm and a leg!

  • why cant someone make a fast food place that sells sushi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NikLagua Because good sushi, takes time, and needs a master to be made properly.

  • The only thing I could understand ( Japanese ) was Maguro Des lolzzz

  • damn...so fckin mouth waterin.... im a filipino.. we usually dont eat sushis,, but when i tried it.. i was like.. OMFG.. these is d best food that man created.. some might say thats its gross or not so good.. but when u get to try it.... im sure u wont stop eatin it...

  • @blo0dsh0t420 Short people stfu

  • @Leziii SHORT?

  • @Leziii nahh,, u shut the fuck up,,, fucking RACIST,,,

  • How can someone be so stupid to eat the best sushi in the world all wrong?! - you have to be a foodhunter to do that!

  • I just had some sushi and this video made me hungry all over again! Yum!
