  • where is this at?

The music sounds familar from a Philadelphia tv station.

  • @CWM880 It's based off of the long-running theme used by WPVI-TV (Channel 6) in Philadelphia.

  • @CWM880 They two stations are sister stations, WNEP updated their music in 1995 to this current version of the WPVI theme

  • Trish came from WJCL!

  • Can the anchor talk any faster?!

  • @NewsOnNine she wasn't really talking fast...

  • The music would have fit WKBW really well once they switched to HD in August. That station does not use MCTYW music in the best way.

  • I'm so glad they kept the MCTYW music theme! Keep the tradition alive!

  • I dont like the new voice over though. The other guy sounded better.

  • The lower thirds are similar to KTLA and KCPQ. I wouldn't be surprised if the graphics are from Hothaus.

  • This looks like an in-house job. The animations seem very cut-shot. Looks like they took the previous graphics, added blue, and changed the text alignment. The open is original, but everything else does not. I like it though.

  • WKYC in Cleveland also does sponser plugs during their news opens, as they have been doing so for god knows how long. Its new open looks clean and keep its main amber/yellow color with a shade of blue. And this has to be the first time in a long time you hear that beginning ticker of the Chris Schwarz theme. It does look interesting yet tacky to see the temp bug have a decimal point. Overall the graphics suits the station which continues to follow its rich traditions.

  • Don't complain about the tag being too long, just look at WBRE's. For god's sake even their weather and town proud has a sponsor. Makes you wonder what news they actually cover that ISN'T paid by advertisement

  • I think it's a huge upgrade to what they had before. The new graphics basically come from the weather graphics they have been using for awhile now. It's clean, very readable still keeping the tradition of WNEP alive. And the music will never change, ask WPVI. Also, the new open looks more like a Hothaus job.

  • REAL NICE OPEN WNEP. KUDOS. Also like the decimal point temperature

  • that sponsor tag is to long..

  • This is a slight improvement from what it used to be, but it's still not enough to win my viewership. If they would get rid of MCTYW, or at least update it to Action News like WPVI, that would help. Getting rid of that crappy 16 logo would also help, but the biggest thing is still their staff and unprofessional antics. I'll stay with WBRE or WTAJ.

  • @10McKeeG That's what I was thinking. They could've added the ABC logo to 'NEP's 1994 (or was it '96)-present logo!

but MCTYW on 16, Thank goodness they've kept that. No offense.

  • Although I think that tag was too long at the beginning. too much talking.

  • Not bad. The blue was definitely needed.
