  • So, since the cart on the way out resets the selection is it possible for the buttons themselves to automatically reset? So user1 picks track 1 and without manually pushing reset or riding carts over automatic reset on the line, user1 then pushes button for track 4 at which point it would reset the previous choice and go with the new? It'd remove the need for manual reset and give an extra destination.

  • @trenchhopper That is possible, but then you should be in the cart abd the button should have to power the track, because otherwise if you would choose a location, your cart would ride away without you :D

  • isubbed. youdnt get many tutorials better than this, also, icopied and expanded, thanks mate!

  • Works like a charm thank you ^.^

  • lol

  • ohky

  • in the latest snapshot you can't convert it :(

  • i cannot fx it :( Does someone do a short video with the fix?

  • This is the greatest station ever. Its easy to build and very effective! I've been looking to make a station that has a selection like this for a long time but always ran into overly complex things I didn't understand.. What a fantastic tutorial! Thank you!

  • lol, love the gamechap reference.

  • let me know what you think of this design! i posted vid response

  • Australia is awesome, the accent is awesome, the people (in general) is nice and atm. it's THE place to be (-economy etc). Much better than America.

  • dude, you are the best minecrafter, you have shown me so many things to build, and solved hundreds of my questions, so i must sub, anyone who watches these videos and dont sub, are kinda off, cuase who wouldnt want to know when you got a new vid out?

  • I've just built two of these on 1.1. Facing east works fine but it was buggy facing any other direction. Luckily CNB's videos are probably some of the best minecraft tuts out there so it wasn't too much hassle to knock it all down and start again. Great vids.

  • Darn, looks like 1.1 broke it. Time to play around with wiring....

  • Whats up with that North South thing? why does it matters?

  • How do i figure out North South etc?

  • Absolutely brilliant! Thanks man, i'm very likely going to use this design in one of my worlds. This video also helped me expand my redstone circuitry knowledge which is limited, so thanks a bunch!

  • what texture pack is this?, it is really good :P

  • Now do it in 60 sec *trollface*

  • Brilliant man! Absoloutley awesome!

  • Is it just me or does this guy sound like wheatly from portal 2?

  • Ok so redstone there

  • Erm... Why do you say "a bit like that" so much? Not that I have a problem with it, just curious, 'cause it makes me Lol. XD

  • You sounding like the shorter british guy on an idiot abroad.

  • works fine in 1.1 :D

  • Horké Dorké

  • watch 2 of ur vids.... thinks SUBSCRIBE

  • I've got a smaller one on my channel. I've got a tutorial.

  • okay so i am extremely irritated an confused, I built it to scale exactly as you have it here and for some reason, my line 2 & 3 buttons send me to line 1 and my line 1 button sends me to line 2. it seems that not matter what i do to fix it, it just says no. and the automatic reset doesnt seem to work properly for me either, it causes me to just go all the way around to arrival =[

  • Im chillen in my dirt house watching this vid shaking my head thinking "Oh hell no"

  • do you have the texture pack for mac?

  • whats your texture pack? it luks kool

  • Hi CNB's viewers,

I noticed that the detector rail doesn't reset this in 1.1.0 unfortunately. But I found a fix. I'll be uploading a video on Sunday, the 5th of February on how to fix this, I hope you guys will find it useful once I upload it. :)

  • You sir are a genius! I've learned so much from you, thank you :D

  • Everyone you'll want this facing where the clouds are going (the track part) because he has it facing that way.

  • If the rails are doing the opposite of what you want, you most likely have a directional problem. A quick and easy fix is to move the reset mechanism to the other side along with the departure mechanism. Then make the repeaters in front of the note blocks face the other direction making sure to set to max delay. That worked for me.

  • "Me own" XD

  • Brillant tutorial on this station but tryed to do a 12 button one but obvisly the reset detector rail reset it before i got to the 12 destination

  • @icripplecraft360 the repeater from the reset button can also be turned to 4 delay

  • thanks! works perfectly. although i did have to switch the reset to the other side.

  • This is incredibly easy and compact. I was looking for such a compact station to build. Doesn't require too many ressources and looks neat. Thanks!

  • HOW TO FIX THE TRACKS: the station must be facing SOUTH (the departues east, the arrivals west, the back of the station nort and the buttons south) tumbs up so anyone can see this!

  • @2911oscar I had the exact same problem, what you have to do is move the main rail one block back. from there the original red stone that runs into the rail you replace with a redstone torch coming off of that block and with one dust running from that onto the rail. eg Old R _ X New R _ ^ X in this poor demonstration R = rail line _ = redstone dust X = block with dust on it and ^ = redstone torch at angle so ^X = block with redstone dust on it with redstone torch coming off.

  • just incorporated this into my little 4 island home, its amazing for getting from my house to animal farm/mine/tree farm. Which are all on separate little islands.

However I would be interested in those addons you said you would make tutorials on :p atm i am working on a way to reroute the system back to the start with a pez rather than arrival/departure, since its only me thats using it and only 1 minecart is needed

  • Oh god, thank you SOOO much for making this, most compact station i've ever seen, and really simple but amazing. Kudos to you!

  • does karl pilkington play minecraft aswell?

  • hmm i copied it 100%, but 11:55 my cart didn't turn to line 3, it continued to arrivals? dammit, what did I do wrong?

  • Everybody loves a bit of that!

  • i was genially surprised to see that there was no pistons in this. Great Work man.

  • me:*starts copying what hes doing*

    10 minutes later

him:you can just download the world save

    me:-_-

  • @MultiToombs That'll teach you to read descriptions. (I did the same)

  • @MultiToombs its good to learn it though ;)

  • This may be nooby, but I don't know what to do =p. So i built the station like you have it, however my regular tracks leading to different lines are in the state such that they automatically go to a line. They arent turned so that when i go over them they change states so I can just ride the minecart from the entrance to the departure. So then when i push a button, lets say for line 3, that track is powered so that it will take me to the other side, not the line 3 track that leads to a new area

  • It doesnt work :( i built it by following this guide but you have to push the button and the buttons before it (On the left)

  • @SupaDupaGamer That's becayse the rs nor latches are broken since 1.0.0 look up for his video for a fix.

  • @Apennatie @SupaDupaGamer Works fine for me, the broken part is adding in the AND switches for making the combo lock, not the regular NOR Latches. If you build it just like shown it worked fine for me, with the exception that I happened to build it facing south, in which case, I had the build the back track out one further to add a NOT gate to it, switching the default position of the tracks.

  • @ryanzerbe Uuh?

  • I don't know why I'm watching this because I can do some fancy stuff with Red Stone.

  • Hey CNB! i recall you saying that you would have a video up explaing how to make this station work while facing south? i was just wondering when that was going to be up. cause i really need it for my server :(

  • In snapshots w49 and w50, when the button is pressed a pulse is generated. This occurs when the note-block or the indicator light block is placed on above the latch torches. The pulse causes the note block to play multiple notes and intermittently cases torch burn out. It doesn’t make a difference whether or not it’s n/s or e/w facing.

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

  • Oh ma gosh! Dude, I love it, when u say "bit like that"!

  • One flaw is having to break your minecart, hook up a pez dispenser and an auto-cart clear system and your set to go, also make the selection buttons have a "reset" line in them.

  • what r u playing with because it sounds like an xbox but there is no minecraft for xbox

  • @MrPatranthony its computer and yes there is minecraft for xbox you just buy it from the Xbox Live Arcade

  • Oddly, I can make it more compact. Using a 2x3 modular rs-nor rather than the 1x5 that you put 2 apart anyhow.

  • Now do this in 60 seconds :D

  • guys, i got a great idea! i saw this station he made right? but how if he can attach a cart dispenser to it, so you don't need to have a cart on you you just click a button and a cart comes down to you. ready to go.

Thumbs up if you want him to make it or like the idea!

  • @Charmetrolden95 You're joking right? If you need a tutorial for that...

  • @Charmetrolden95 I was accualy thinking about a design like that :D I could make it ... (I have a plan... maybe a video?)

  • @Mocnarr123 i have made it, but i think 1.0.0 have made minecart stacking impossible.... so i have made a design with 6 minecarts there can be pushed up to a dispenser kinda thing :-). can send you the world thing if you want.

  • @Charmetrolden95 Charmetrolden95 place a block put rails on it put a minecar on the rails break the blog ! ;D

  • @Charmetrolden95 yeah, that would be cool...

you can send it anytime :-D maybe it needs some improvement 8-)

  • How do you go about adjusting this for a minecraft server? We would need an in and out line. There needs to be two tracks for each line.

  • Mine only goes off the first line. But this does work as of December 18th 2011 (patch 1.0.0)

  • someone should give you a medal for all that redstone engineering

  • I did this in 1.0 and it works perfectly. I don't know why other people say this needed to be updated.

  • I've been to the world download and all I have is a .rar file. What do I do with it?

  • This worked for me in 1.0

  • nevermind, figured it out, got it working on 1.0...

just needed a few tweaks, but you might want to update it anyways, as some people might not be able to figure it out...

  • can you do an updated version for minecraft 1.0 please? I really need the help...

  • my minecart station isnt working line 2 just wont work no matter what i downloaded ur world save and followed everything but it wont work the minecart tracks switch to a different direction just randomly please help

  • @SCAL8899 this isn't updated for 1.0

it's not his fault, at all

this worked perfectly for minecraft 1.8

  • @Sil3ntdarkness ok thanks =)

  • @SCAL8899 to get it to work, there are a few minor tweaks. I would explain them but I don't think I can with words...

  • @Sil3ntdarkness ok thanks for letting me know

  • specs?

  • does it work in 1.0.0?

and how to know where south is? in 1.0.0

  • My mine track goes back in the wrong position when its reset, cant see where I'v gone wrong. Is this happening to anyone else?

  • @jasonread16 did you set the repeaters ontop of the rsnor latches on full delay?

  • @penisbreath952 yes i did, but it seems to work if i invert the signal again, it makes it 1 block bigger but it works xD

  • Comment removed

  • @jasonread16 yeah same here i think it has something to do with the whole northwest thing

  • @jasonread16 Theres a thing called the east west rule DURKA

  • @jasonread16 South or east faceing latches might have to be inverted, it is an odd glich

  • @jasonread16 U should look at the east-west (as of 1.9.4 i think) north-south rule for the rail disposition than just invert the signal. hopefuly it will woek and hopefuly this was not too confising ;D

  • @jasonread16 00:08 there's your answer...

  • @jasonread16 00:09 it says if its south facing invert the output of the RS NOR latch, Thumbs!

  • DOSENT WORK IN 1.0.0 :(

  • @Epixman5443 yes it does ?

  • @RSGuides247 Y ai forgot to put a torch to make the redstone turn strate

  • train station.....working trainstation.....WOW SO COOL! Dude...you rule :D

  • Alright, I hooked it up to a pez dispenser, and it fits very well on my house. The push-to-go design works perfect for dropping carts right onto it. I might even hook the dispenser up to a pressure plate so I can just walk up, get in the magically appearing cart, and push the button :)

  • I'm thinking of combining this with a minecart-stacking mechanism so you don't have to carry your minecart around with you all the time. I hope this south-facing station thing doesn't mess me up, though. :)

  • This doesn't work right for me... everytime I select line 3 and go over it, the normal bit that is turned to go on its merry way flips and turns the other way

  • Ok so, no matter what. the cart always goes to line 1... any solutions?

  • @MrPuddlesTheDog If you push the button for line 1, does it go in line 2? If that's the only way to get it to go to anything except line 1, you're going to have to invert the signal after the latch.

  • i would also be able to make this but it would be way larger...

  • Made this legit on a server =)

  • you kick ass!!

  • The tracks of the lines keep changing around so when i want to go to line 1, it goes to line 2?

  • I know i sound stupid, but how do you just jump in the minecart, press the button

and just go? 'cause when i do it the minecart just stays there

  • @infinteXetnifni try right clicking on the side of the back block instead of the track, to make sure that the cart touches the back wall. Not sure if that actually works. If not, just make sure you're putting it as far back on the track as humanly possible.

  • Can I just ask, if you know, can you tell me your computer specs? I'm looking into buying a new computer, and i don't really know what i will need. Thanks.

  • Thanks, I'm using this on my server

  • dude youre awesome totally like your creations like the batcave

  • you should probably say that direction matters cause i was facing east i guess and it did not work

  • I try to do it and when i was in the part of the rails, i cant continue because it fails! D:

  • We made one on our server and everyone loves it

  • How do you get a creative mode map to be completely flat? Is there one to download with all grass?

  • damn i´ve built this around 4 times getting insane because it never worked...when i finally remembered reading sth about the south-west-rule...but again you´re awesome ingame it´s even more awesome^^

  • you are a genius!!

  • You sound like a young Ricky Gervais. XD Also, I subbed.

  • dude, you are like totally amazing

  • once u built this can we just build our own rail system from the other tracks coz i got like 3 bases so could i have 1 going to one base then have track going to another base or something?

  • this does not work well in 1.8.1 does it?

  • @AzureFlameCloud It works fine in 1.8.1 and 1.9.5

  • the tracks get stuck facing opposit then they should for the routes.. i cant get them to reset.

  • is this on your batcave?

  • Does this work on craftbukkit servers?

  • I love you! (not really) but I'm waiting for the addons, cart dispenser?

  • this is amazing

  • amazing

  • This is so awesome. Good work man!!!

  • The reset doesnt work for me, the rails get in a mess.

  • My redstone toches get always a burnout :(

  • I like trains.

  • @Sicet7AndNiklas4042 This is only a problem if you either moved the detector rail, have not set the repeaters to max delay, or are not using powered rail. My station is 10 lines long, and I never had a problem. You need to make sure the detector rail is right next to the last powered rail before the first line, then ever piece of rail that doesn't fork off to a line needs to be powered. With repeaters at max delay, should work to unlimited lines.

  • a bit like that :D

I found your channel today and I like it.

  • Ever wanna build the Zelda Secret Sound in Minecraft? Check out my tutorial now!

    /watch?v=rzoqMBA38gw

  • So it has to face south or it won't work properly?

  • Where is the follow up tutorial of south facing ones.

Mine is facing south and i have no idea what to do and how to do it!?

    HELP MEEE

  • Comment removed

  • thanks but do the directions mater?

  • Texture pack?:D

  • THANK YOU!

  • is it going to be a '2.0'??

  • Help. I did it alllll right. But when i press the button, it doess everything, the light turns on, etc, but the Rail doesnt change :/ Then i press reset, and it changes. So i cant go to the arrival point! HELP!

  • @maxakalegend sounds like you need to invert the signal. I did this in one of my stations when I reversed the arrival/departure sides. This is pretty easy to do, though you will need to extend the tracks out by one block. Where the redstone connects to your lines, remove that and slap a redstone torch down the bottom of the nor latch. Extend out some redstone to the track (which you now will have moved up by one block). However, you shouldn't need to invert if you followed the instructions right

  • @CNBMinecraft can u add a download link to an mcedit schematic? Please?

  • I watched a few of ur videos and u r a genuis in redstone haha!

  • @CNBMinecraft Did you notice that the note block for the reset line plays when power is _lost_ instead of gained?

I also noticed that having two repeaters leading to a note block will not produce any sound.

Somehow still can't get my head around those redstone circuits, especially with all the inconsistencies/bugs atm... -.-

  • thank you, you are genuis! you really have talent in this

  • Im having problems with the reseting. Can u help? thnx

  • Thanks for the help the wiki does not tell you anything or I just cannot look properly lol.

  • @NecojiProductions 0,1,2,4 I know that is the ticks but what I want to know is how long in Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Milliseconds

  • @bblewittMC a 'tick' represents 0.1 seconds mate. So a repeater set to '4' (i.e. maximum delay) will give you a delay of 0.4 seconds

  • Love your vids! they're so helpful!!!

  • Any update on the southward facing stations?

  • how long is a tick on a repeater in time because I want to make a delay of a certain time but I want to keep the build compact.

Good tutorial because I did not know how to make an RS NOR latch like that. I just follow the plans on the wiki lol.

Just as a heads up you might want to upload your world saves to 3 different sites because atm I keep getting an error code (404) and IDK how to fix it and it looks like it is from mediafire.

  • @bblewittMC It goes 0,1,2,4

  • I'm having an odd problem with this. My rs nor latches keep burning out. Any idea why?

  • Ok, I think I got it. I put a 1-tick delay in the latch. seems to be working.

  • Hmmm..I cant seem to grt mine to work....

  • Wow, fantastic tutorial, deserves way more views than it has!

  • thanks man i am gonna build something like this on my server

  • Great design and great commentary. Really enjoyable. I've expanded on the design a lot in my world, but really the compact design is everything. I have:

    * 10 fully working lines (can add unlimited additional)

    * pez dispenser with 5 carts

    * automatic cart return (along top)

    * rider/no rider detection

    * selecting destination drops cart

    * won't drop another cart if one present

    * stepping on pressure plate on way to cart activates memory, then getting in cart powers take off - no button press needed
