I'm a man that rarely cries but when I see this scene and think of the fact that Mary KNEW that with one word he could stop it all and yet he didn't it breaks my heart and I can't help but cry. Imagine yourself in her shoes, the whole world hates your son though he did nothing wrong.
You bastards discuss this irrelevant thing. why are you so stone cold? cant u get touched when a mother see her child is hurting, bleeding and dying and cant do anything about it? believe what u want about Jesus, but you must be touched by this, if not you are not humans in my eyes.
the first time I saw this movie, I was crying the whole time. But when I saw this scene, that's when I lost my mind completely. Everything from the flashback to the music to the beautiful dialogue...this is extraordinary.
This scene reflects the essence of orthodoxy, which is love, love beyond all..it is to make complete all other religions, as where there is no love, there is nothing...
Each who has something to say against this scene, would rather read some Giovanni Papini instead of throwing accusations, and reflect upon his own belief, if it has enough arguments...
Your greatly mistaken. The sun is a witness pointing to son of God. (Jesus) You worship the created instead of the creator. Jesus' eyes are like flames of fire and his countanance is brighter than the sun. He will consume everything that gets in the way of love. He is like a consuming fire. Jesus' passion is all consuming. Your knee will bow before Him and out of "your" mouth you will say that He is God. The only God of the universe.
I know exactly what Im reading. Have you read it? By the way, Truth shines brighter under scrutiny. Im not trained or brainwashed as youve said. Ive been saved from hell. I can never and will never be silent. The love of God has set my pitiful, dark, fallen, broken heart free from this prison of shame!!! I love life!!! I love you!!! I love Him!!! I dont care about your unbelief. He's alive and breathing right now. You cant imagine him out of existence, friend.
I am sorry but you are mistaken. To look at the beauty and wonder of creation and not see God is sadness, if not pure ignorance. The problem with many people today is that they believe intelligence warrants atheism. This is not so. Look at yourself. Look at every cell in your body. Look at the sequence of four nucleotides that is you, billions nucleotides long. This spells you out. You will find God there. He is love. Do not worry. You may not believe in him, but he believes in you.
By the way professor james. your sources are garbage. The Word of God is Truth and is infalible. Jesus Christ is God and the Only way to heaven. His word is true because He is the Living Word of God. His story is Our story...so what was your point again?
ummm unless youre a Bible scholar ...you have absolutely no idea what it is youre reading. Like pavlov's dog you've been trained to associate one thing (the idea of 'God') with some thing else else ( an object of worship you have been given the name of as 'Christ'). Therefore because you respond to stimuli of the 'Drama / Passion Play ' so well for you this actually is reality. Fine ok sure, but in all fairness not all of us are Pavlov's dog. Some of use our minds.
He's causing you to breath right now. He wants you alive because He loves you. His eyes wont stop looking at you because He wants all of you. You were made for love. and to experience His love. You'll be miserable, with an emptiness that eats at you day and night until you find Him who will fill you with his love which is ecstacy. His love is better than life. He loves you more than you know. This is eternal life, to know this man.
Let me clarify.....my dis belief is not in God. My dis-belief is in reference to a fictional piece of literature called the Bible. Because I am a historian I know for a fact it is a false plagiarized work. Trust me...God is not offended by my designating it as such. My expertise is the ancient world. If you don't know it then your opinion and beliefs concerning that subject (the ancient world ) are obsolete. Are we clear dear?.
There is only one God. Jesus Christ, the faithful witness. Firstborn from the dead. Ruler of the kings of the earth. Anyone else claiming to be God is the antichrist...which I presume is who you are worshiping?
No actually ....as a Black person I have a very personal relationship with God Ra (what you call the Sun). I would never deny his exostence....How can I ...I see him sailing in his celestial boat daily....warming the earth. It is you in fact who has denounced Ra...oh how Blind 'you' are (smile).
The fact that you can't spell correctly is indicative of the accuracy of your inaccurate statement. Not only was God addressed as Ra, but this very fact predates even the birth of any of the other names you may be familiar with. Do some studying then get at me. Right now your historical acumen (or lack thereof) is exceedingly wanting.

You know what they say....a white mans heaven is a black mans hell:
"The entire Christian Bible, creation legend, descent into and exodus from Egypt, ark and flood allegory, Israelite history, Hebrew prophesy and poetry, Gospel, Epistles and Revelation imagery, ALL ARE NOW PROVEN to have been the TRANSMISSION OF ANCIENT EGYPTS SCROLLS AND PAPYRI into the hands of later generations which knew neither their true origin nor their fathomless meaning"
@knowitallification Perhaps certain aspects of genesis and other mythological tales were influenced by both egyptian and babylonian writings, such as the case of the universal flood and the gilgamesh epic "In fact Ithink the babylonian influences are bigger than egyptians" However that does not mean it was simply a "copycat". The hebrews adapted those ancient stories to their own religious traditions and beliefs. Religion, as everything else, evolves and changes in time.
It is also likewise OBVIOUS that in numerous other places in the Old Testament not only in the Book of Proverbs, but ALSO in the HEBREW LAW, in JOB, as we already noticed in SAMUEL and JEREMIAH, AMENENOPE'S WISDOM IS THE SOURCE of ideas, figures, moral standards, and especially certain warm and humane spirit of kindness"
@knowitallification This does not surprise me, as is the case of babylonian influence, as the ancient hebrews interacted with both egyptians and messopotamians, but as I said before, that is very different as the claim that the whole bible is a copycat. Religions and cultures develop in time, even the concept of God and monotheism evolved during the course of isrealite history.
"The publication of papyrus in the British museum revealed the author, Amenenope (the Ancient Egyptian scribe)! ALL OLD TESTAMENT SCHOLARS OF ANY WEIGHT OR STANDING NOW RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT THIS WHOLE SECTION OF ABOUT A CHAPTER AND A HALF OF THE BOOK OF PROVERBS 'IS LARGELY DRAWN VERBATIM FROM THE WISDOM OF AMENENOPE (the Ancient Egyptian scribe); THAT IS THE HEBREW VERSION IS PRACTICALLY A LITERAL TRANSLATION FROM THE EGYPTIAN.
@knowitallification Unless you are a literalist, anyone knows that tyhe bible was writen by men of their own historical times, using the knowledge and sources they had avalauble to them to try to teach what essentially is a spiritual message
I was worse than a hound of hell, believe me. So are you. Without Christ you are nothing. The Ruler of the universe wants to be in a relationship with you. He likes you....so why dont you try to disprove him and the bible? Be smart and search it out for yourself. Like I did.
You remind me of the blind man that sits on the street every day. He denies the existence of the sun that he warms himself by. When told that the sun that is keeping him warm is a ball of fire and gas thousands of miles away in space, he laughs at and mocks those who explain to him. Pathetic, stubborn, blind man.
Jesus is a real man. With real skin and real emotions. He grew up like we did, God of the universe humbling himself and walking on earth like us. He runs toward us with compassion times a million than that of his mother towards him. He says, "oh Jerusalem, how Ive longed to gather you in my arms but you would have none of me!" Meet Him, Hes running toward you!!!
a story? ok....anyway I was really touched when He felled to the ground. It's like any of us, when life's troubles get you to fall down hard to the ground just remember that Jesus stood up again and walked to where he would die for us....so trust in HIM.
"The original foundational matter of the Mosaic writings is not, was not, historical at all, but ENTIRELY MYTHICAL.....The myths of EGYPT will be found to have been copied and reproduced. THE HEBREWS TOOK THEM FROM THE EGYPTIANS, with other stolen goods, and were UNABLE or DID NOT CHOOSE to render a TRUE account of them.
Gerald Massey

*Sorry but your whole bible is nothing but distorted warped versions of other people's stories, this is a scientific fact.
"It is likewise OBVIOUS that in numerous other places in the Old Testament not only in the Book of Proverbs, but also in the Hebrew law, in Job, as we already noticed in Samuel and Jeremiah, Pharoah Amenenope's wisdom IS THE SOURCE of ideas, figures, moral standards, and especially certain warm and humane spirit of kindness"
Jesus Christ is the only savior!! thank you Lord for everything!! Mary mother of Jesus Christ please lead us to your son and keep us away from evil.... Mel Gibson, great work!!
For the record- even the Bible has reference that is against any form of sorcery or witchcraft- clearly magic or anything of the sort is included, so read the Bible and it's entirety. Try to understand it before you try to make Il Qur'an seem the ultimate book- both books are very important in monotheism, which I have read BOTH. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, really. The TRUE basis is to never push your beliefs on anyone else or to even judge or disrespect. Da5eelak shou sa2il..smh :
assuming of course we believe Professor James is telling the truth and not exagerating facts to get published. But why would anyone in academia possibly do that?
Good response....for at least one good reason....it is documented that that particular professor in fact has been cited on occasion for making false assertions for reasons
less than honorable. I'll post the exact reference to it in my next comment. Here's the kicker though; the assertion that he makes in the quote you obviously question is substantiated and supported by all of the requisite scholars one would need to be textually validated. The Evidence doesnt need his help. Sorry.
And then he needed money to establish the Oriental Institute and to do research in Egypt. John D. Rockefeller, Jr. gave him 1.5 million dollars, and then Breasted got out a new edition of his book and the Egyptians BECAME 'members of the great white race'. In other words, in order to get Rockefeller's money he had to switch over the Egyptians to 'the great white race'."
"Alot of them (white historians) have taken the position that the African is the low man on the totem pole & everybody had 2 be ahead of him. Some of these people R just plain lying because THEY HAVE TO HAVE CAPITAL IN ORDER TO OPERATE. James Henry Breasted is a fine example. He published a high school textbook in 1916 called 'Ancient Times'. It had two very fine chapters on Egypt and he plainly states in there that THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS WERE NOT WHITE FOLKS, but 'a brown-skinned race'.
I think that it's pathetic that someone would come onto this page and start talking crap during a holy time for millions of people. I would suggest if you have such problems, that you take it up with GOD- rather than taking it upon yourself to write garbage and offend others who believe what we do... I don't see any Christians attacking your beliefs. You have a will GOD gave you- do what you want with it- but not at the expense of going against what you stand for in your religious beliefs...
they got these meanings back with the help of the quran which muhammad received. muslims helped the bible. and defends all messengers like solomon who some did magic. quran says messengers don't do these kind of things.
thats what i mean, a man has flesh and bones but god has no flesh and bones. look up the word ahad which is in arabic and hebrew and in the old testament it ahad describes the oneness of god meaning unique and indivisible and there is nothing like him. muslims helped get these meanings cause it was muslims scholars who helped put a lot of the hebrew bible together cause arabic and hebrew are semitic languages. the quran is the textbook for arabic that people claim muhammad wrote.
and that your not supposed to understand thing is pagan mythraism and the relegion of mystery. god is one, no one has seen his face or heard his voice.
thats not a good example. even though water can be three different states the basic formula stays the same. which is H 2 O. one atome of hydrogen and two oxygen. so is jesus a man or god? a man has flesh and bones god almighty has no flesh and bones. so its not a good example. you say your god is a palistinian jew. lol now thats funny stuff.
You anwered yourself, that's right, God became a Man, God is the father and God is the holly spirit but all of them is one God but in different perspectives, its essence it's still one God, just like H2O is the essence for liquid, steam and ice.
there is more proof of the essence of scripture and the spirit of Christ throughout the dawn of time than anyone without faith would ever acknowledge, but remember, he came to seek and save the lost, not create a country club for the found.
I think the trinity is very simple in its concept, I think you are right however to say that to understand how it works would be to be God himself... it is the very same thing that puzzles scientists and Darwinists... they can never tell you at the point of the bang what created it... so they will always be stuck with the notion that even in their version of the Alpha and the Omega, something (Believers know this to be God) created all that went "Bang"... simple... truly simple...
Coullion43: I like to think of it as an egg you have the yolk, the white and the shell... all of which are egg, just different aspects of the egg... or I am a father, son and a brother... all three incarnations are me, just represented in three different relationships. Christ is the son, the holy spirit is his omnipresent form and God the Father represents the creator of all things...
As for explanation of the Trinity, God the Father- The Creator, God the Son- Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit- The Paraclete (the helper) ; they are not 3 individual beings, but ONE GOD. 3 in 1. It is a mystery. You will NEVER understand it. You are not supposed to understand it, just ACCEPT it as FAITH. That's why we have FAITH. For to understand it, you would have to be GOD himself, and that is impossible. For those that wish to argue the point, remember He can do all things...
I AM is not a holy name. he does say i am but in the same account he says you say that i am. so which one do you choose. has anyone ever told you close your eyes and picture something and you say ahhh now i see. thats what he meant when he said if you have seen me then you have seen the father. means whatever message he is given and you follow him then you know and have seen the father. it's said in many places in the bible that no one has ever seen god.
No. If you read exodus, the term IAM is used by God. God said to moses "When they ask, tell them I AM sent you". That is a serious trademark of God, Jesus requoting it "After Abraham, I AM" was a statement that he was God. He was already getting the jews angry by claiming to be God. The " I AM" part almost got him stoned.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, take out our hearts of stone and replace them with hearts of flesh, and may we burn with love for you. Long Live Christ the King.
could someone explain the "holy sprit" to me in the trininity? I dont really understand what that is. I understand Jesus, and God.. Im not really quite sure what the holy spirit is
Ranger; Jesus claimed divinity a number of times in the Bible - I'm not sure where you're getting you're information from. Look up John 8:58, where he calls himself by God's Holy Name (I AM).
He also says he has the authority to forgive sins (Mt. 9:1-6; Luke 5:17-26; etc), which is something only God can do.
He also changes Peter's name, which is something only God can do to an orthodox Jew.
When he cries out Eloi Eloi lama sabacthani he is crying out to his Father.
the way they lash him is over done in the bible it does not say how many they gave him for how long . they were kind of in a hurry to do the procces beacuse they could have have someone hangin on the cross on the holy sabbath. or they thought the land would be cursed. jesus said on the cross ella ella why have you forsaken me. this is just one other point that if he is god then who is he cring out to. not himself.
mary is the mother of god. she gave birth to god? how deluted from the truth we are. he was a messenger. he never said he was god. i read the bible no where does jesus say i am god whorship me. god is the only one who can forgive sin. sooo whorship him. bow down to him. he is your creator the one who made you then are you not gratefull.
The use of this movie clip is breaching copywrite laws. I'm quite sure breaking the law is a sin that's accompanied by legal action. Especially considering youtube is going to sued by Viacom for hosting copywrite material.
yeah, the first time i saw the movie, i saw the whole thing non-stop . . . and admist all the other powerful scenes this one got to me the most . . . couldn't even imagine what Mary would have gone though knowing her son was going to die
this scene made me truly understand that mary truly is the mother of god. hail mary, Greater in honour than the Cherubim and beyond compare, more glorious than the Seraphim
Jesus thank you for your sacrifice. I pray for this world every day, that more people will find faith in you. I tell people about you, write about you in my blog, my homepage, everywhere I can. We must spread the word, it`s important.. THis is an important reminder of his sacrifice, and Mary`s sacrifice. Bless that courages woman, what an example to live up to, strong and brave as she was....
St. Mary, mother of God, she's very blessed indeed. Put in short: She Glorified God. She did not use her 'free will' to say no to God's message that she would bear our Savior. She's the perfect example of obidience. Indeed, she's our Love, and she will pray for us all to her beloved Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. No question about it - go to Ethiopia and see the many miracles happening every day. Glory be to the Lord, Amen!!!
this movie really make me want to learn more about jesus teachings about the power to FORGIVE, about HUMILITY, about loving your enemys, about loving everbody like he does, and after seeing this movie i can tell he loves humanity a lot, peace and love to everbody
Just recalling memories of difficult times when you are actually in a harder one, the pain becomes unbearable. Praise Jesus (who eased her pain by saying "I make things new" despite his own pain) and salute Mary his mother.
I am alongside with you, every time I see this moment I cry. It's such a powerful movement and gesture, a love of a mother to her son. She says Jeh-Shu-ah, which is his Aramaic Name.
(Yod, hey, vav, shin, ayin) Yehoshua ( יהושע Aramaic 'G is salvation')
does it matter that Christ's name was NOT jesus, it was Joshua (Yehoshua with an Aramaic accent.) Or does it have to be ge-sus / iesu ("yeh-soo")/ IhsouV ("ee-ay-sooce") because those are the mistranslated names one finds in the protestant/latin/greek nt versions?
We Catholics honor Mama Mary because she is the mother of Jesus and it is rightful to recognize her because she was there with Jesus throughout his life. Mary didnt leaves, she stayed.
Its like this, I will be hurt if you will bypass my mother. God Bless.
You criticize, you judge but you do not say "Thank you God for Mel to make this movie." He was moved by the Holy Spirit. He read the Dolorous Passion book by the Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich.
Did you watch Mel's interview on EWTN back before this film came out?
Please do not say anything negative about something that is finally true to our Catholic faith. We have enough non-Catholics persecuting us, we don't need "our own" to do the same.
Oh, and one more thing... this movie IS a masterpiece. People of all faiths saw this movie, including non-Christians. This movie brought people back to the faith. This movie inspired people to follow Jesus who did not believe in Jesus before. This movie made people forgive others whom they had not spoken to in years. That in itself would constitute a masterpiece.
I would like to make clear that it wasn't actually the movie on its own, it was the Holy Spirit of course who inspired all those people to follow Jesus and come back to the faith. But the Holy Spirit worked through Mel's "masterpiece" which is actually God's masterpiece.
this is one of the saddest parts of the movie. it really made the realization that jesus & mary were actual people so much more obvious. sometimes we as christians only think about them as spiritual beings.
It is interesting in the old prayers and old language that Catholics used the term "worship" with Mary to refer to the honor due her. Indeed, though not God, she is the Mirror Divine Love, the perfect receptacle of God's grace. May the Most Holy Virgin save us in this our hour of greatest need! Holy Mary, Mother of God, please pray for us poor sinners! JMJl
Brother, "worship" in the ancient sense does not necessarily mean sacrifice to or give the highest honor and glory possible. It is a synonym for venerate and can even be wholesomely used for creatures such as a king or magistrate. Even "ad orare" in Latin means "pray to", not "to give honor deserving of God alone".
This is my Favorite part in the whole movie. It show much Mary loves her son and it give Jesus strengh to go on and makes him relize he also need to save her too.
This scene is very moving because for just a moment in the film, it stops being a religious story and instead becomes a story about a mother and son. Is there any mother who has seen this film, or watched this scene just now who wouldn't do exactly the same thing Mary did when she saw her beaten and bloodied son fall? Run to him and try to comfort him? And how many of you who have mothers would be able to resist reaching out to her comfort?
The most touching part of the movie,I can't imagine how hard it must have been to be the mother, and see your son,be willing to give forth his life, out of love and compassion for you and me.
Absolutely the most heart-wrenching scene for me... I can see me own mother doing the same, though Christ was determined to go through with His work to save us all.
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". Jesus is our ONLY intercessor: Hebrews 7:25. "He is able to save forever those who draw near to God through him, because he always lives to make intercession for them". We MUST read the Bible and not take them out of context or what church tradition or men tells us. Catholic or Protestant, most important is your relationship with Chritst and being in line with TRUE doctrine.
I am a Catholic and I would like to clarify something to you. We do not worship Mary strive to be like her. She was like us human and she had a choice to refuse God's will, but she didn't thus she is the definition os some one most faithful. We ask for her intercession because she is the mother of God's son and thus through her we come closer to God. This has been evident by the many miracles from her, do some research brother and God Bless.

It sort of bugs me when people say that us Catholics worship Mary. We don't. We use her as an example in life...we want to be like her. We pray to her for help..and trust me..she is a great help.
Indeed Christ is our Lord and Mary prays to our Lord. This scene is the definition of love and sorry for coping xen907 but he speak the simple and real answer.God is love ..Jesus is love and sorrow. The tears of Mary...thats a meditation for us
it's true mary was important amongst women, but she should not be worshipped like many people do, catholics for example recite the prayer hail mary full of grace, the lord is with thee etc.. not even the angels in heaven are to be worshipped by man, the prophets and jesus make this very clear. (take note of john worshipping the angel in revelations)
I'm a non Catholic and I really love Mary, she is blessed, I don't know why Protestants thinks she's just a normal person. Mahmoud, the bible did say enough about Mary, we don't the qu'ran view of Mary or Jesus because it's false, you people think Jesus is NOT God or the son of God.
Jesus was born for one purpose and one purpose only. To bear witness to the truth, that there is God. Whatever we say about him in this column or our reflection about him in our daily undertakings may it be againts him, a disrespect of who he is will never stand in the way of his love for us. Nothing that any of us will say againts him will ever take away the love that he will forever bestowed upon us. Believers and non-believers the glory and love of Jesus Christ will always be upon us.
Actually friends, the only Message Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon them both) ever tried to deliver was the same Message that had been imparted to Moses and Abraham. That "the Lord, your God is One", bear that in mind when you associate the name of Christ with God's.
You know what, you can keep your words to YOU and your Quran to YOU cause we Christians will not ever believe in your book. Jesus Christ was a great man, the greatest of them all. Look at what he did for you, how can you say Man made this all up? Why don't you question Muhammad credibility, he was the only one who came up with the so called Quran.
This scene gave me a deeper love for Mary. As the mother of three sons I can only imagine the pain Mary felt watching her son be be tortured and killed. It's a mothers instinct to do anything she can to protect her children. As a non Catholic I always focused on Jesus never gave much thought to his mother. Mary truly is blessed among women.
Replying to your statement siszam, in the Qur'an, an entire chapter is devoted to Mary and she is described as being "chosen above the women of all nations." Peace be upon her and upon her son Jesus.
Yes, but everything it says is not the true story. The true story is this, watch the movie Passion of Christ, there you will have the true story. Jesus Christ died for you, and for all of us. You owe him and that is by accepting him as the Son of God and loving His Father.
For the only message JESUS tried to give to the world was of love and kindness. There are so many families in the world that have been affected by war, death, disease, poverty etc that it is almost impossible to even phathom this belief in their hearts. The truth lies within our hearts and minds...
We should start by forgiving ourselves for being ignorant. This episode in JESUS'S life which was portayed in Mel Gibson's movie is just to embody that we are not worthy as it is the truth in the ignorance that people do and speak.
This part kind of confused me. We have no idea that Mary actually had that memory/vision. Or that she even ran to him. The crucifixon in the bible lasted all of two paragraphs. But leave it to business man Mel Gibson to make a 2 hour+ movie out of it. And who knew that Jesus invented the modern table.
In the stations of the cross, it says that Mary went to Jesus with the other...or the other way around....but true we do not know if she had taht memory/vision...but c'mon every good mother would remember a time when their kid got hurt when they were young & c them get hurt even when they are grown men.they remember that....and yea it does suk that hollywood does take try to capitalize on peoples faith..
I'm a man that rarely cries but when I see this scene and think of the fact that Mary KNEW that with one word he could stop it all and yet he didn't it breaks my heart and I can't help but cry. Imagine yourself in her shoes, the whole world hates your son though he did nothing wrong.

@knowitallification This does not surprise me, as is the case of babylonian influence, as the ancient hebrews interacted with both egyptians and messopotamians, but as I said before, that is very different as the claim that the whole bible is a copycat. Religions and cultures develop in time, even the concept of God and monotheism evolved during the course of isrealite history.

thats what i mean, a man has flesh and bones but god has no flesh and bones. look up the word ahad which is in arabic and hebrew and in the old testament it ahad describes the oneness of god meaning unique and indivisible and there is nothing like him. muslims helped get these meanings cause it was muslims scholars who helped put a lot of the hebrew bible together cause arabic and hebrew are semitic languages. the quran is the textbook for arabic that people claim muhammad wrote.

Grumplestilskinn 2 years ago

No. If you read exodus, the term IAM is used by God. God said to moses "When they ask, tell them I AM sent you". That is a serious trademark of God, Jesus requoting it "After Abraham, I AM" was a statement that he was God. He was already getting the jews angry by claiming to be God.

JMJl

I beg to differ, respectfully. Mary is venerated, loved, honoured, we ask her to pray for us, but not worshipped. Worship is/has been for God alone.
ssjjbbww 4 years ago
Brother, "worship" in the ancient sense does not necessarily mean sacrifice to or give the highest honor and glory possible. It is a synonym for venerate and can even be wholesomely used for creatures such as a king or magistrate. Even "ad orare" in Latin means "pray to", not "to give honor deserving of God alone".

Catholic or Protestant, most important is your relationship with Chritst and being in line with TRUE doctrine.

it's true mary was important amongst women, but she should not be worshipped like many people do, catholics for example recite the prayer hail mary full of grace, the lord is with thee etc.. not even the angels in heaven are to be worshipped by man, the prophets and jesus make this very clear.

They didn't have the dead rising out of their graves to trouble the living when the wall crumbled and Jesus died. Did they even dress him in purple?
