What the nation saw during Katrina was a VERY small segment of what was actually going on. People helped others and themselves as they could. Rush once again proved he's a moron. My heart goes out to all of those suffering from the floods just as they cared about us during the flood. Talking heads like Rush are so disconnected from the way Americans are that it's ridiculous.

I'm unsure of what the political point is. Is it to pit the people of the US against each other? Or to make the American people feel a way that they don't feel? Despite the very few after Katrina that I encountered who said horrible things, the majority of people I met had pure compassion for us, and it proves that the American people are kind and caring.

Thanks. Another thing that baffles me about these statements Rush made is the blatant disregard of facts. These people in the midwest are able to get around, they can go get food if they want, and get themselves a nice hotel room.

The people of New Orleans? They were forced to stay in that quagmire and diseased soup bowl. They tried to cross the bridges and get out of New Orleans but the "authorities" pointed guns at them and said they couldn't. So fuck yeah they were gonna get pissed off!!

Excuse me? I thought it made sense. Saying that the citizens of New Orleans were in any way to blame for what happened to them was out of line by Rush. They had every right to expect immediate aid and they didn't get it, and at least part of the blame there falls on the federal government and Dubya himself. Also, Kristol is saying that the Gitmo prisoners have got rights that they don't actually have and Olbermann is correct to point out that he's wrong and why he's wrong.
