I'm atheist and I agree, God absolutely exist. In the minds of the weak. The reason we point out the flaws in your argument and your book of fiction is human nature, we want to help people who are misguided.
And before you say this human nature is a result of god, it is not. It is behaviour that has been developed by natural selection. Humans who help each other are more likely to cope with situations, whether they are potentially life threatening situations or simply opportunities to thrive.
@TheAtheistAntidote You're HELL BENT on hoping people might believe as you do. But they don't. Please don't imagine that everyone would think as YOU. I know you'd like convert as many as you possibly can, but seriously sir- You've got religious competition, let alone non-believers. What's your take on that ? I'd love to know !
@gblueslover2 "Please don't imagine that everyone would think as YOU" - I personally believe that if the vast majority of the world followed jesus, the world would be a better place, unlike if most people were atheists the world would not be so. "You've got religious competition, let alone non-believers" - We dont count convertions as points or even victories. We count them as saved souls who we have legitimiate concerns, loveingly, over their immortal beings. How is that wrong?
geez this guy is arrogant.does he really beleive that athiests are some emo punk kids with eye liner on lol . how about presenting some proof of god instead of this droneing preaching.
Ultimately I think it comes down to this: Atheists want Christians to shut up, and Christians want atheists to keep talking because it shows how foolish they really are.
@GermanConquistador08 actually no,Athiests want christians to produce actually proof and stop quoteing scripture as tho it held any weight as evidence.and would love thiests in general to put forth a logical and well thought argument for the existence of a god or creator.
@mandrillx "Athiests want christians to produce actually proof and stop quoteing scripture as tho it held any weight as evidence." - Well the fact is, a lot of objections made by atheists on CHristian ideals can only be ANSWERED with the bible, same with objections to bibilical events. Now as for evidence "reason for the hope that is in us" Christians DO give that, but atheists sometimes have selective hearing in that regard and YOU guys need to shape up and listen, Christians have talked enough
@GermanConquistador08 Of course, ANY religious person is going to refer to their favored scripture to submit their "evidence". ("I AM" etc.) (Exodus 3:14) is probably the most famous of christian quotes. And in Islam, Surah 28:70 ("And He is Allah ; there is no deity except Him" etc.) WHAT ELSE would THEY refer TO ? I don't believe ANY religious scripture my self due to the TRIBAL,COMPETITIVE, GROUP FORMING behavior of ALL living things. All "other" religions are FALSE. WTF
@gblueslover2 "ANY religious person is going to refer to their favored scripture to submit their "evidence" - I'm not submitting my OWN book as the evidence alone. I'm sbumitting it in its entirity. Theres never been a book like the bible in history, multiple books, multiple authors across centuries in one book with no contradictions whatsoever. Theres never been a book like that in history. Doesnt make it true but it makes it worth considering over other holy texts.
@GermanConquistador08 And if I may add to this lastly, history and PRE history has TONS of evidence that humans have always competed. The fossils of our hominid ancestors conclude our tribal, behavioral past and it related DIRECTLY to our tribal behavoiral PRESENT. OK Look... Sans these fossils, "Us against THEM" is still ALIVE and WELL. How IRONIC that a religious group / person would ENCOURAGE me to LOOK DEEP into their favored scripture, "Then I'd see the TRUTH" PLEASE.
@gblueslover2 The bible was used by archeologists to discover kings and civilizations previously thought not to exist. Its worth considering. Then over 300 prophecies, all of them fulfilled through the person of Jesus. How do you square all of that? Yes there is religious compeition, but how does that prove that one religion is false by the MERE competition of the two ideologies. You wouldnt look at Capitalism and Communism and conclude both are untrue because they are conflicting.
@GermanConquistador08 I square with that equally to THAT EQUALLY what ANY OTHER DOCTRINE with it's "witnesses" might have to proclaim or as you claim FULFILLED. Look, I know how people LIKE DRAMA, and that's what this is all about. One can't GET any more dramatic than believeing in ones life carrying on after death. Let's be HONEST: All these different " SINCERE " believers warning their COMPETITION of going to HELL. Are you kidding me ? pfft.
@gblueslover2 Most PEOPLE dont have problems PURELY on religious basis' but its the irreligious that try to make it so, they're trying to "discount others" rather than proving their own viewpoint. Its the atheists that are the us and religious people are the them. Ironic? Dont you think? "One can't GET any more dramatic than believeing in ones life carrying on after death" - Really? Well sir, just because you dont believe it...doesnt mean you shouldnt leave us believers alone. Hypocrite.
@GermanConquistador08 ALL humans are tribal, yes including myself. To put yourself on the SIDE of religion is lauaghable, it's a tribal move. However, I understand it. Privately, you "know" those other scriptures / doctrines are incorrect. lol This is sooo easy to see>>
@gblueslover2 "ALL humans are tribal' -Speak for yourself. In what manner? Socially, "tribal" bonds expand far past individual communities to the point where thousands of people can be connected all in different locations. In government, we havnt lived under tribal structures since Ancient Greece. You're using the word tribal completely incorrect. The definition of tribal is "A social group existing before the development of, or outside of, states. We havnt been tribals for 3000 years.
@gblueslover2 And even before far before that. "To put yourself on the SIDE of religion is lauaghable" - How? Irreligious is just a much of a side as a religion. Lets be honest here: Youre incorrectly using the term tribal and pretending that knowing this self-created definition makes you superior to those who refuse to acknowledge NOT the official definition of the word but YOUR OWN interpretation of it and its context on society.
@GermanConquistador08 cont'd> NOW...Put myself in a room with you, a JW, a JEW, and a muslim...You'll all RELATE to "god" and group together. Remove me, and the battle continues over the DETAILS of who's differing scripture and/or beliefs are CORRECT. Please, don't give me any of that. Just TRY telling a muslim that jesus is the son of god & that he died on the cross for their sins...whew.
@gblueslover2 Two people cant be in a room together with one governing the other because in all situations humans have a need to control that situation. But NO put an atheist and a group of various religious faiths together, especially in a stressful situation, and no one will care about what religion they are. The shirts that you and I wear were made by another person, and we dont know their religion, creeds, or race. Nor do we care. Proof that tribalism is dead.
@gblueslover2 "Just TRY telling a muslim that jesus is the son of god & that he died on the cross for their sins...whew." - The majority of the time, they will politely disagree. Unless of course its asked in a demeaning or arrogent manner then they have ever right to defend their point of view. We do so on social issues, politics, our ethnic and religion values too. Its part of human nature to be efficently sure of your beliefs. And theres nothing wrong with it.
@GermanConquistador08 And as far as leaving you ALONE ? WTF ? Youtube wise ? explain why this forum , open for COMMENTS is off limits to ones who disagree with YOU ? Because you're angry ?
Wow this IS getting tribal, did you "Notice" ? lmao
@gblueslover2 "And as far as leaving you ALONE ? WTF?" - You suggested that theists should leave irreligious people alone. My responce was: Then why are you not leaving religious people alone, pratice what you preach man. And whats interesting is that you turned this around so childishly. "Because you're angry?' - No, because I'm doing EXACTLY what youre doing, trying to make you live up to your own standard. Atheists have the advantage here though. Chrisitans follow a united standard
@gblueslover2 "Wow this IS getting tribal, did you "Notice" ? lmao" - This is what I'm talking about. You are using an incorrect definition of the word tribal and I'd prefer this not to be a pointless language debate because you couldnt pick up a dictionary and correctly use terminology. "Quietly disagree with it?" - On the contrary. Participate, learn, experience these religions as their adherents do and try to learn something about their culture and how I can be a part of it.
@mandrillx "and would love thiests in general to put forth a logical and well thought argument for the existence of a god or creator." - THEY HAVE atheists just refuse to listen. I could give a five-part arguement, using logic and the bible (which DOES have weight its a historically accurate book and thats part of my five-part arguement) But you wont listen, I guarentee that. If you want me to, I'll give you that arguement, but only if you would listen.
You aren't empathetic but you care about where I burn? I'll never get that. If I want to burn forever, why would you care? I mean you don't act like you actually care, but it obviously bothers you, or you wouldn't address 'the problems' of atheism.
For those who don't believe in God they sure talk about him a lot and justifying his non-existence. Sounds like security issues to me if him not existing was so evident to you why must people delve in atheistic evangelicalism its just a waste of time if anything have a creed to adhere to can be good for people why not let them be?
@Somespatanwarrior Neither God's existence nor his non-existence is self-evident. That's why atheists almost exclusively don't believe in a god, but will allow for the possibility of one if the evidence is ever provided.
"why must people delve in atheistic evangelicalism"
Because Christianity extends well beyond the realm of personal belief. If it were, there'd be no issue. Take the teaching of creationism as "science" in public schools, for example.
@foxhole8063 Humans are TRIBAL beings. We form / join groups, compare / compete on all levels & in ALL aspects of life itself. "Us against THEM" is the behavioral characteristic we ALL own, in many forms & many ways. Scriptures, doctrines, all claiming to be the "literal word of god" YET they don't match, they even contradict. The WAY we act PROVES we evolved. We can NOT get away from our very own behavior. Anyone care to compete with me on this ?
@gblueslover2 "Scriptures, doctrines, all claiming to be the "literal word of god" YET they don't match, they even contradict" - I agree, but the bible is unique, so is the God of Israel. No God or set of gods besids Christianity and argueably Islam have taken off in so many different parts of the world, speaking an almost universal message that no culture has been an except of. Theres never been a religion like Christianity in the history of the world.
@GermanConquistador08 In summary, LOTS of cultures regarding their writings & their ancient existance were JUST AS UNIQUE. Stop this posturing to make yourself feel BETTER about it. TAKE IN what else is OUT THERE, can you ? I'm aware of YOUR FEELINGS in all this, and your bid for heaven, and your feelings on creation, etc. But there's MUCH more to that IMHO. Göbekli Tepe ( in Turkey ) which predates even ancient Sumeria was really UNIQUE. >>>
@gblueslover2 "were JUST AS UNIQUE"- Theres many things unique about all religions, cultures etc. But the point I'm making is that how does that uniqueness translate? Does it make something interesting and worth studing or worth considering? The Azte Codex is worth studing. The bible is worth considering. "make yourself feel BETTER about it" - Thats a false conclusion, I do so to make a case for the reason I consider the bible over all other religious texts.
@gblueslover2 "TAKE IN what else is OUT THERE, can you?" - I have actually. I've read parts of the Qu-ran, I'm well versed in the Aztec religion, classicalism and one of my fondest school memories was world-religions fieldtrips to buddhist temples, Hindu shrines and I would often sit with my Jewish friends who would preform their rites before dinner. I've well versed in other religions besides my own and I still feel that my case is the strongest even hearing others cases.
@GermanConquistador08 Your friendships where you actually VISIT these places and do WHAT ? Quietly disagree with it ? SO religions that aren't your within your belief system, you don't SAY " Wow nice, but I don't agree with this " !
How entertaining that must be for you.("Those FOOLS" hehe!) Laughing hard now, .lol
@gblueslover2 How can I be part of the greater picture. Thats I suppose the opposite, of your definition of tribalism would it not be. "SO religions that aren't your within your belief system, you don't SAY" - No I dont. If someone asked me my opinion I'd give them my honest opinion and MANY religions dont have a problem with it. Hindus are actively TRYING to prove their various sects like the Abrahamic religions are. There were almost NO Hindu, or Greek theologians, for a reason too.
@gblueslover2 "How entertaining that must be for you.("Those FOOLS" hehe!) Laughing hard now, .lol" - You are making incorrect conclusions based on your misunderstanding of other religions, it is you who is ignorant of these religions, perhaps thats why you are so hostile so...tribal as YOU'D put it. Trying to live up to your own standard is nice but try to do it across the board so you dont look like such a hypocrite. "Those FOOLS" No rational human thinks that why. But maybe you do.
@GermanConquistador08 So, "WHILE" at another faiths service which contradicts your own beliefs, you have no thoughts regarding the mis-match of their beliefs, as compared to yours ? You just keep silent, nod your head, smile etc?
@gblueslover2 ", "WHILE" at another faiths service which contradicts your own beliefs" - My religious beliefs anyways. My social beliefs are completely in line with alternative viewpoints. If a person has no interest in converting than I wont make an effort to try to explain my reasoning to them in hope they do so. One conversation usually doesnt convert people its a lifetime of life changing experiences and piece by piece processes. So no, didnt contradict ALL of my beliefs.
@GermanConquistador08 "If a person has no interest in converting than I wont make an effort to try to explain my reasoning to them in hope they do so"
Wouldn't a "attempt to explain your reasoning" have to come WITH a possible conversion ? Something's missing there.
@gblueslover2 "Wouldn't a "attempt to explain your reasoning" have to come WITH a possible conversion?" - I'd be hard pressed to find someone who'd convert by a debate, let alone a mere conversation with another faithful. But if they convert from my story of faith then so be it, I'm not forcing them to listen to sermons of the like, I'm just following my own faith "Be ready always to give an answer to the reason of the hope that is in us." Something's missing there." - Not really.
@gblueslover2 "you have no thoughts regarding the mis-match of their beliefs, as compared to yours?" - Not at the time no. The same way that I dont go to events hosted by my schools local GSA chapter thinking about my political and religious views on homosexuality, that isnt the point of me being at these events where people have radically different views than me. I give answers to those who wish to understand my point of view, but unless they ask I dont think of it.
@GermanConquistador08 You stated here that you will attempt to convert others to your desired faith ? And "while" at anothers worship service you would HAVE to not believe in it.
So then when a person does not agree with, nor submit to your conversion attempts, do you believe they will go to hell ? Assuming these people continue their different path ?
@gblueslover2 "You just keep silent, nod your head, smile etc?" - No, I participate in the ritual and I ask questions, I get to know the people, understand the culture of that religion. I ask about why they believe the things they do. This is what most normal people would do, have conversations, understand things, rarely do they act in the manner you suggested, with conflict and aggression.
@gblueslover2 "I'm aware of YOUR FEELINGS in all this" -Really? HOW? Every Christian feels differently about their religion. Some take it extremely emotionally. I take it intellectually, I love studing it and I actually spent more time studing it than praying it (althoug they can be one in the same) Dont pretend to know someones feelings through a generalization, its ignorant. "Göbekli Tepe...was really unique." You know what else was? The religion of my people's past: The religion of the Aztecs
@GermanConquistador08 >>> Look, I understand how this WORKS: In order for one to believe in any given scripture, they MUST discount another. I understand that. But in my opinion, one must LET GO of those types of sheltered thoughts. If you refuse the others, choose ONE as YOUR personal belief, you just are CONTINUING this tribal "Us against THEM" ridiculous contest that NEVER ends. Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. can't EVEN agree amongst themselves. Why do YOU continue this?
@gblueslover2 It doesnt make Quetzalcoalt or Huitzilpochtli true, but I love studing them. " In order for one to believe in any given scripture, they MUST discount another" - Not so. One scripture simply need to prove itself trustworthy enough and wait for the others to do the same. So far, only Christianity and Judaism have been as studied for the reason of belief. Most others dont. You dont need to prove something wrong in order for it to be true, just prove YOURS right.
@gblueslover2 "you just are CONTINUING this tribal "Us against THEM"" -No actually we're not. Like I said, I can stand in a Hindu temple, a Jewish temple and sing their songs, pray their prayers and still feel as every confident in my own belief systems as I was when I entered as when I leave. MOST believers can do this. The only person putting an Us and Them mentality to it is well....atheists. Most Muslims and Christians DONT have a problem with each other on religious basis.
@GermanConquistador08 Unique ...? That statement is tribal, posturing, wishful thinking, etc. That's about EQUAL to saying "My children are special" Yes they ARE special...TO ME. The one thing people always REVERT to is using their imagination, their opinion to prove some point. Yes we all do it, because we are tribal beings..We protect " OURS" and can EASILY discount the "others"...Just like breathing, YET it comes SO natural we don't notice the dynamics of it. >>>
@gblueslover2 "The WAY we act PROVES we evolved" -Tribalistic society is in the bible, its the manifest of ancient humanity for the majority of the world, I dont see how a human concept can prove evolution. "We can NOT get away from our very own behavior" -Yes we can. Than how have so many thrown off the guise of race, greed, culture and united behind unifying ideas such as Christianity?
Right, non-theists justify their beliefs solely for the purpose of guilt free gratification. Your keen insight certainly couldn't perhaps actually be desperate attempts to justify your own delusions could it...attempts to reassure yourself time and time again that god exists by mocking the differing beliefs of others. Youtube atheists don't speak for the masses, nor do youtube theists but you've definitely reassured us all that self righteous arrogance can be found on both sides of the fence
What about people who don't believe god exists who are mentally or physically handicapped, children, elderly, or not in a position to hear the message of "god"? Would he send THOSE people to hell?!? If so, your god is fucked up. If not, where does he draw the line? It would seem then that being an intelligent normal human being is almost a curse, because of the POSSIBILITY of being sent to hell, whereas these other human beings don't even have to WORRY about it!
@GermanConquistador08 Strange question. His claim that all people "know" that god exist and only look for all sorts of excuses not to follow him, is ridiculous.
The majority of people on this planet reject the christian god. Most of them because they're of another faith (and maybe proclaiming equally ridiculous things about their god(s)), some of them because they reject any faith at all and a huge number, because they never ever heard of him in the first place.
@sooperfukker "The majority of people on this planet reject the christian god" - In what manner? Muslims believe that Christians and Jews follow the same God as them the bible and torah are just distortion. The Christians and Jews both believe in the same God and disargue on the question of the messiah. In that respect the VAST majority of the world believes in the God of the bible and almost 1/4 of the planet are Christians counting roughly the uncountable CHristians in China, NK, India etc.
@GermanConquistador08 Uh uh, sorry, you're wrong again. Neither muslims nor jews believe in the god who sent himself down to earth in the form of Jesus to rid us of all our sins. They have a different version of "god".
We got 7 billion people on this planet. Roughly 2,8 of them believe in the christian god. That leaves 4,2 billion not believing in him. These billions are divided into about 2000 different denominations and lots of them -never heard- of the christian god.
@sooperfukker "Neither muslims nor jews believe in the god who sent himself down to earth in the form of Jesus to rid us of all our sins" - Yahweh is the God of the Muslims, Jews and Christians. Jesus is the son of God, God incarnate on earth as a man. Muslims and Jews dont believe that part, doesnt negate the obvious and admitted connection between the three, the central figure the FATHER of Jesus..the God of Israel. Which the vast majority of the world believes in.
@sooperfukker "Roughly 2,8 of them believe in the christian god. That leaves 4,2 billion not believing in him" - Actually add in Muslims and Jews its closer to...well around 4 billion+ and growing well over half the world. "These 4,2 billion people are living proof that what Brock said is factually incorrect" Well actually brock here was only talking about atheists, irreligious is only around 10% of the world so, that less than 1 billion I think.
@GermanConquistador08 That's probably the thing he didn't comprehend: He tries to aim at atheists and forgets that the majority on this planet doesn't believe in his god either, although they're not atheists.
And it's not like we're talking about just slightly different versions of the abrahamitic god, we're talking about people like Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Bahas, Shintoists and what not. These people have totally different ideas on what the term "divine" means.
@sooperfukker And this comes from a bibilical arguement yes, that all men have some understanding of spirituality. BUT and lets make this very clear: WHY do the numbers matter? The number of atheists or Christians doesnt mask the truth of either on of those ideologies. And if we're going by numbers=truth then YOU lose. So how bout an end to the numbers game because under it, you lose by a landslide. "He himself looks like an unshaved emo." - So?
@GermanConquistador08 [2] These 4,2 billion people are living proof that what Brock said is factually incorrect and those who never heard of the christian god are living proof that what Brock said COULD never have been true.
This self-revealing truth is what makes him a blatant liar.
BTW: Google for "Brock Lawley" and you will find that he's a convicted plagiarist who loves to pass other peoples' work as his own. Which is just another form of lying. He's a liar. Period.
@sooperfukker "This self-revealing truth is what makes him a blatant liar" -So less than a billion irreligious people means that brock is liar? Despite the fact that many irreligious people still KNOW that people believe in the idea of deity and have reason for doing so. "he's a convicted plagiarist who loves to pass other peoples' work as his own. Which is just another form of lying" - Plagarism is lying...no it isnt actually but all right. And hes not a plagarist, but atheists call him that
@sooperfukker Also, the majority of the world believes in some form of deity and the majority of the world is monothestic, and atheists in the world? Very small minority. "Therefor his initial claim is self-evidently untrue, obvious to" -Well no actually when you look at the facts that not the case but hey, facts never stopped anyone right? "we love to call them out for what they are: LIARS FOR JESUS." -Its funny because, there are no lies here, you're just making them up to suit your own
@GermanConquistador08 Well... "some form of diety" isn't what he promotes. Let's be factual and state that he is a christian who believes in Jesus.
That so called abrahamitic monotheism goes far beyond the deism or pantheism, something one could make a somewhat reasonable claim for. Typical theists know exactly that there exists no logical pathway from a deistic position to a monotheistic position, that's why they keep on misrepresenting themselves and others.
@GermanConquistador08 [2] Therefor his initial claim is self-evidently untrue, obvious to anyone. And that reflects back on him. He knows that he's forwarding an untrue claim.
We often deal with people who deliberately misrepresent their own faith or others' faiths and if these persons are christians, we love to call them out for what they are: LIARS FOR JESUS.
Besides:
Do you know that feeling when you see someone for the first time and know he's a liar?
@sooperfukker What do they call that? Lying actually interesting. Hypocritical and anti-critical HA! "Do you know that feeling when you see someone for the first time and know he's a liar?" -...No because I'm not a judgemental jackass. Not to say you are, because you never said YOU got that feeling...I think. No? Oh well. Judgemental jackass it is. On youtube anyways, but on race tracks yeah thats a very good quality to have, but you dont put it in their face with no proof.
I have given you evidence for why he is a liar and I have added my personal opinion afterwards.
Every single mimic of his face tells "I am lying", it's called body language and I'm pretty good reading it. And there are indeed people who openly and proudly display that behavioural pattern. That's disgusts me on the personal level, all rational argumentation let aside.
@sooperfukker "First of all: Calm down. No need to rave in silly ways." -Heh, its funny because its the internet so theres literally no other emotional responce other than the one you assign to the words on the screen. Interesting. "I have given you evidence for why he is a liar " - No...no actually you didnt but thats ok, you pretend you did so...yeah. "Every single mimic of his face tells "I am lying" - Oh wait no that was your evidence. HIS FACE. Real good evidence man. Top notch.
@sooperfukker "called body language and I'm pretty good reading it" -pfft HAHA! Yeah...yeah I believe you. Clearly youre a body language expert. Well I'm really good at reading body language too and his body language tells me hes telling the truth completely so..yeah. "That's disgusts me on the personal level, all rational argumentation let aside." - Well there isnt any rational arguements left because your own pettiness stops you from making a rational arguement against brock here.
@GermanConquistador08 If that's your impression, so be it. You're mistaken, but that's your mistake, not mine. And AGAIN, I refer you to the comment section where I LAYED OUT IN DETAIL why his argumentation isn't worth a dime.
@sooperfukker " You're mistaken, but that's your mistake, not mine" - Once again, if its an IMPRESSION than no one is mistaken, we all have different impressions of other people. You're just being arrogent here. "I LAYED OUT IN DETAIL" - No you didnt, you claimed he had eyeliner, called him a liar and said you thought so because of his body language. Thats not worth anything. "tries to aim at atheists and forgets that the majority on this planet - He didnt mean JUST Christianity man.
@GermanConquistador08 You need to learn how to read properly. Go through the comments and you'll find what you're looking for. It's there. If you can't find it : It's your fault. AGAIN YOUR FAULT.
@sooperfukker "You need to learn how to read properly" - AS opposed to what? Clearly I cant read man, if I couldnt my responce would be..well nothing because I wouldnt be able to read.USE LOGIC SIR, use logic. Anyways joking over. "It's there. If you can't find it : It's your fault. AGAIN YOUR FAULT." -So even if you didnt write its my fault? Nice logic there man. No, you didnt make any convincing arguements other than the ones I addressed. Now stabilize yourself and lets get back to it.
@GermanConquistador08 [3] That feeling struck me the second when the video began to play. To me, it was obvious he was out for nothing else but provoking people with his dishonest approach to the topic.
And finally, 0:44 made me laugh pretty hard when he talked about how atheists should shave their beard and get rid off their "eyeliner", because it obviously applies to himself much more than probably any of his listeners.
@sooperfukker Dishonest? What are you talking about, where was he dishonest? Seems to me he was 100% on the money correct. Where was he dishonest? Can you cite where and give a convincing arguement where he was dishonest or are you all powder and no shot? Also, lighting for the eyeliner bit. Look at the lightening. Also, the guy has full eyelashes, look at his other videos, its pretty clear. Delusion? naw, just the truth that people get mad at, and then mock to lessen the blow.
@GermanConquistador08 You didn't get the joke, did you? It doesn't matter what kind of eyelashes he has, the point was: He looks exactly like the stereotype he's trying to attack.
And you know what: I'm not really impressed by someone who claims to be a christian, but misses not a single occasion to blow out his hurtful and judgemental poison towards other people, claiming to have god on his side.
He's a walking violation of god's commandment to not use his name in vain.
@sooperfukker "You didn't get the joke, did you?" -Yes he makes fun of guys with eyeliner so you claim he wears eyeliner even though he doesnt...hilarious. "He looks exactly like the stereotype he's trying to attack." - Its funny because..he doesnt look like the stereotype hes trying to attack. "blow out his hurtful and judgemental poison towards other people" - WE make judgements all the time, every single hour of every single day. God doesnt comamnd us not to judge actually.
@GermanConquistador08 It is hilarious. He himself looks like an unshaved emo. If he's allowed to cheapshoot people because their looks, so am I.
And the allegation still stands:
He violates god's commandments each time he uses god's name in vain, within the context of his slurs. Did you know it's the one sin that god doesn't forgive? He's a high class candidate for going to your imagined hell.
@sooperfukker Look man, dont call someone emo just by he way they look. Emo IS NOT a dress style or a hair style its a state of mind, you cant call someone emo just because of the way they look. Other you just end up looking stupid...as you have here. Also, notice HE isnt speaking of anyone in particular. I know Christians who look emo (I have long black hair myself, not dyed though) Hes speaking to a rhetorical generalization, YOU are straight up insulting the man.
@GermanConquistador08 You're tiresome. He introduced the whole "looks" topic into a non-debate. He is the one who judges people by their looks. Stop making apologies for this convicted (!) liar and bigot.
@sooperfukker "You're tiresome" -And your annoying, but I'm enjoying this discussion so far. "He introduced the whole "looks" topic into a non-debate." - As a passing gist and your making it out to be the core of his arguement. Stick to the arguement man. Also, address my point rebutting your attempt to call him emo. "Stop making apologies for this convicted (!) liar and bigot." - Convicted? Really I didnt know he went to court. You mean convicted by law or by atheist tribunal of pissy snobs?
@sooperfukker Seriously, this is what I dislike about youtube atheists. If someone isnt for your side, they're stupid, ignorant, or bigoted liars. Cant a Christian ever just be factually wrong to you people without them being whatever ist, or convient name (proven by your standards I might add, guilty instantly) or do you just not have that much conviction in your worldview?
@sooperfukker "He violates god's commandments each time he uses god's name in vain" -And so do we all. Also, he never makes any swears in this video so I dont know what you're talking about beyond his personal life. "Did you know it's the one sin that god doesn't forgive?" - Well actually no, God's forgiveness is up to God, not man. "He's a high class candidate for going to your imagined hell" - We all are my friend, but I like the projection. Really works well on you.
@GermanConquistador08 No, we don't. Since god doesn't exist for me, he/she/it doesn't play any role in my life and besides this silly youtube war, the word "god" doesn't pass my lips on any occasion. It's the likes of him that loves to blaspheme all day long and he can be truly happy, that his hell doesn't exist.
@sooperfukker "the word "god" doesn't pass my lips on any occasion" - Using the word God? OH you think that saying the word God is blasphamy HAHA no, no it isnt. OMG or Jesus Christ without due reverence is blaspheming and its part of our popular lexicon. And God fogives all sins if your heart so desires it and your tounge so confesses. Brock has so (at least I'm assuming, thats between him and God) We fall everyday, and we are forgiven every day. Sorry you dont understand that.
@sooperfukker You don't believe he is lying about anything. You just said this (Its from Dawkins re: Expelled) because you think it just works to 'hurt feelings' and as a propaganda. You may disagree with Brock but you don't believe he is 'LYING' (despite the ALL-CAPS). So what does that make you I ask?
@sooperfukker It means: You don't believe he is lying. You just said this to try and hurt his feelings and cause. Are you really so stupid you needed me to explain that to you?
@TheRightOffensive I'm not a grammar nazi but what you wrote made no sense to me. Well ok, at least now it's clear WHAT you think. Now please tell me what MAKES you think it is like you think?
@sooperfukker It's about what you think. You can't prove a thing to me and I don't care. But you do have to be alone with your own thoughts tonight. You know that I know that you know I'm exactly right about this. Don't reply to me. Just live with yourself on this one.
Look, you can't blow out a ton of crap and then say "don't reply". That's how a theocracy may work, the real world doesn't.
The only thing that I know is that you're either also a "liar for jesus" or you're suffering from an grande delusion yourself. In either case, it somewhat proves my point: There's something profoundly wrong in the heads of the believers.
If you look at the comments, you'll find an exchange between me and @GermanConquistador08 where I lay out in details why I think Brock's video is dishonest and also why he's a dishonest person in general.
So be aware: I mean every word of it. He is a typical "liar for jesus".
JESUS CHRIST, HIS CATHOLIC-UNIVERSAL-APOSTOLIC CHURCH, SACRAMENTS, THE BIBLE, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, ST. MARY APPARITIONS, MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN, SIGNS IN 2011 ARE NOT A MYTHOLOGY BUT THE REALITY !!!
@anderdorm The definition of adultery in the Bile is when one marries a divorced woman. The fixed moral Laws of the Bible are the authors beliefs, the historical record says different. Free will doesn't apply in the eyes of a God who knows all your choices before you make them and by his Laws controls your ultimate fate. As far as a built in conscience is concerned I would need to refer to genetic predispositions in evolutionary theory. I don't know if you want to go there?
@anderdorm (cont) Many of these societies never heard of the ten commandments, yet knew murdering your neighbor, friend, family member was not to be tolerated. Stealing something that's not yours did not have to be commanded to be understood it was not going to be OK with the ones stolen from.
As far as acts considered "evil". We are as a species barely out of the jungle. Terrible acts of violence are sadly common place among our kind. We are animals at the end of the day. Animals will kill.
@anderdorm Morality, how we treat each other and what is and is not acceptable in society is not a fixed notion. Through out known history different societies have had different moral codes they lived by. It changes through out history. What is permissible in one may not be in another.
Now certain behaviours and acts like murder and theft have been universally looked down upon by 99% of all societies, at least when it comes to the way they behave in their own tribe or group. (PART 1)
@anderdorm I went to your channel and watched a video called "Why Christians don't argue with atheists". What's your take on that video? Is that something you would agree with? There's no wrong answer.
@anderdorm For the reason you described even if I could I wouldn't take away someones faith in God. Our conversation is not about that for me, I'm just telling you why I don't accept it.
@anderdorm I have already explained some of my problems with the Christian theology. Some other examples could be how could a God described as he is sit back and let a child be abducted, raped, and murdered without even a phone call to police? Think about some of the real horrors committed every single day that defies the description of a God who cares about humanity. Please don't give me the answer that we sinned against God so were responsible, tell that to those parents.
@anderdorm I think we approach our view of the world from different methods. Some people are comfortable with using the heart and some with the head. I guess the best of both worlds would be a combination of both.
It would take to long to reveal my last 5 year journey of discovery but let's just say it was a real eye opener.
@anderdorm I concede your point of righteousness being of faith. After a quick read that seems to be the claim. If you like though I could produce many other contradictions in the Bible. But like I said I'm not naive enough to think any Ah ha moments will occur here today and I'm completely fine with that.
@anderdorm Being a man I seem to use my reason and fact finding ability to support my beliefs then my emotions. That kind of describes most men. For me the overwhelming evidence for common descent among all of living things shows me not that God doesn't exist but that key claims in the Bible are simply not accurate.
Example: That Adam and Eve were created as the first humans on earth. Think about the implications that occur if that's not historically true? Original sin?
@anderdorm So even some of the Bible shows Paul to be mistaken in his claims. Only because the Bible was written by many authors over a long time to reflect many different views. You can find just about anything you want to support your views or find other verses that contradict it.
I have always tried to find the truth in life. I try to be objective in my search and not only learn about but understand other people's beliefs, get into their heads. But most times it's in their hearts.
@anderdorm I happen to like Bill Maher, but I can also recognize his arrogant know it all style. I don't agree with many of his opinions, like what you put in your mouth is mostly responsible for cancer and other diseases. Genetics has a bigger portion.
Romans 3:10-11 is the verse they get that belief that all who never heard of Jesus and don't repent go to hell. Problem: Paul claims there is no one righteous when Matthew 1:19 claims Joesph to be a righteous man, Job 1:8 says job is blameless.
@anderdorm Who are the people calling you a psychopath? I've talked with many different theists on line and most have been fair enough, you included. Were never going to supply the "Ah ha" moment of realization to one another. Me trying to change your world view is about as likely as you changing mine. But it doesn't mean we can't be pleasant and have a real conversation. Change only occurs when you really begin to challenge long held beliefs to see if they hold up to known facts.
@anderdorm The point that seems to allude you is our being eternal would be the way God created us according to the Bible. Nobody consulted me about being created in a universe were 1) I could never die and 2) I would be held accountable for crimes I committed against this very being who created me while simultaneously knowing my fate. It's kind of hard to disappoint a deity who already knows the whole story including the outcome.
I know I'm repeating myself a lot, but it is a very valid point
@anderdorm It seems as if Joel 2:32 and Romans 8:28-30 are in direct conflict. One states anyone who calls on the name of the lord and the other Paul records as Gods choosing his elect and justifying them.
The reason people think God has an evil streak, not to repeat myself, is his all knowing attributes combined with his all powerful nature makes it hard to accept the hell he may have created for Satan will be used to punish people for "crimes" like unbelief forever. (Rev.21:8)
@anderdorm I think our conversation is at a sticking point. Do you think it is just and moral for a God who knew your choices would nullify his offer of salvation to avoid a punishment he instituted and knew would befall you before you were born?
You say you came to salvation through Christ, fair enough. But what is Jesus saving you from? In the eyes of God, a punishment he knew you would or wouldn't suffer before you were born. Your choice was already known to an omniscient God. So was hell.
@anderdorm "God does not want one to perish but all come to repentance".
The only reason you need to repent is because of Gods Law sin = death. The punishment is his construction. God is either omniscient of he's not. I stress a God who knew his creations would violate his Law before they were created and would be subject to his punishment unless they beg forgiveness for those very sins he had prior knowledge of is redundant and meaningless.
@anderdorm I would leave them or let them leave me if they didn't love me not make a law that if they didn't love me they would be tortured forever without mercy. The thought of torturing anyone forever for any reason is monstrous.
@anderdorm No, actually I was referring to God as "what a guy".
I never met a creationist who understood this but Adam and Eve, according to the bible, were incapable of understanding right from wrong. Not until Eve ate the apple did her eyes open but by then it was too late. God was ready to drop the full force of his punishment on them, Sin = Death.
It never dawns on Christians that God already knew the out come before the begining. Adam and Eve never had a chance
@anderdorm Hey, don't blame me I'm just telling you what your bible says because it's apparent you need to be told. A God who created us knew the out come before the begining and expects us to beg forgiveness for sins he knew we would commit to keep us out of a hell he created. How? He sends his son to die to save us from a punishment he invented.
"Oh thank you so much for saving me from a punishment you invented because I committed sins you knew I would before I was born". What a guy.
@anderdorm God sent Jesus to save us from a punishment he defines and implemented. Sin = death is the law God decided on but created a loop hole. God needed a blood sacrifice to be willing to forgive the sins that he knew we would commit before the foundation of the world.
An omniscient, omnipotent deity can not hold his creations accountable for failings he knew they would commit before he created them. Unless of course might makes right.
I must be a bad atheist who didn't get the memo, since the only reason I don't believe, after 20 years of being a Christian, is because there's no physical evidence for the existence of a god.
I think the biggest problem with this video is that you're ranting against some poorly constructed idea of what Christians think an atheist is, not against anything based in reality. That kind of intellectual dishonesty does more damage to you than anyone else.
@foxhole8063 You couldnt have been a christian for 20 years and not seen the power of God. You should know this verse " Dont be a hearer but a doer of the word". I was raised up in the church but I was only a hearer but these past couple of years I have become an doer and thats what change my life and I seen the power of God so I will pray for you because instead of putting your faith in God you put your faith in man. And there is proof you just dont want to except it
@jamesbamaboi "You couldn't have been a Christian for 20 years and not seen the power of God."
I was. Saw a whole lot of nothing ... except people claiming that everything they couldn't immediately explain HAD to be the result of divine involvement.
You claim to have proof. Are you able to provide objective physical evidence for the existence of your Christian God? Or is it a personal, subjective experience that you or others interpret as such?
@foxhole8063 I don't believe you've ever been a real Christian, how about that? Sure, you may have grown up in the church, gone through the motions, prayed and done all the crap that people think makes you a Christian, but clearly, if that's the reason why you don't believe, then you never believed to begin with. There's a difference between believing in God and having knowledge OF god, and you had the latter. If you truly believed in God, you would not need such physical "proof".
@Yuilen *shrug* you're free to believe whatever you like. Sounds like a 'no true scotsman' fallacy to me, though. I believed in God once, but now I don't. I believed in Santa Claus once too, and now I don't. Both have the same amount of evidence behind them to justify their existence.
God holds us responsible for crimes against him he knew we would commit before he created us; then commands we beg him for forgiveness to avoid a punishment he implemented to not go to a hell he created.
leave now, Christians. leave. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith.
I have the feeling of doing wrong if I go to church and try to believe something i dont. does that mean god made me so that I would feel that it is wrong to believe in him or how do you mean??????
WOW! Completely incorrect! In fact, through surveying across my university campus, I've found that most women in my environment wouldn't date, much less sleep with, anyone with no belief or even a different belief than theirs.
It seems that, in order to get more sex, I either have to become a religious person (not sure how) or just fake it (and I don't want to lie to people).
And don't tell me that you're a good person (I assume you are) just because you're worried about an invisible judge.

Ultimately I think it comes down to this: Atheists want Christians to shut up, and Christians want atheists to keep talking because it shows how foolish they really are.
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 actually no,Athiests want christians to produce actually proof and stop quoteing scripture as tho it held any weight as evidence.and would love thiests in general to put forth a logical and well thought argument for the existence of a god or creator.
mandrillx 1 month ago
@mandrillx "Athiests want christians to produce actually proof and stop quoteing scripture as tho it held any weight as evidence." - Well the fact is, a lot of objections made by atheists on CHristian ideals can only be ANSWERED with the bible, same with objections to bibilical events. Now as for evidence "reason for the hope that is in us" Christians DO give that, but atheists sometimes have selective hearing in that regard and YOU guys need to shape up and listen, Christians have talked enough
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 Of course, ANY religious person is going to refer to their favored scripture to submit their "evidence". ("I AM" etc.) (Exodus 3:14) is probably the most famous of christian quotes. And in Islam, Surah 28:70 ("And He is Allah ; there is no deity except Him" etc.) WHAT ELSE would THEY refer TO ? I don't believe ANY religious scripture my self due to the TRIBAL,COMPETITIVE, GROUP FORMING behavior of ALL living things. All "other" religions are FALSE. WTF
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago

@gblueslover2 "ANY religious person is going to refer to their favored scripture to submit their "evidence" - I'm not submitting my OWN book as the evidence alone. I'm sbumitting it in its entirity. Theres never been a book like the bible in history, multiple books, multiple authors across centuries in one book with no contradictions whatsoever. Theres never been a book like that in history. Doesnt make it true but it makes it worth considering over other holy texts.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@GermanConquistador08 And if I may add to this lastly, history and PRE history has TONS of evidence that humans have always competed. The fossils of our hominid ancestors conclude our tribal, behavioral past and it related DIRECTLY to our tribal behavoiral PRESENT. OK Look... Sans these fossils, "Us against THEM" is still ALIVE and WELL. How IRONIC that a religious group / person would ENCOURAGE me to LOOK DEEP into their favored scripture, "Then I'd see the TRUTH" PLEASE.
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 The bible was used by archeologists to discover kings and civilizations previously thought not to exist. Its worth considering. Then over 300 prophecies, all of them fulfilled through the person of Jesus. How do you square all of that? Yes there is religious compeition, but how does that prove that one religion is false by the MERE competition of the two ideologies. You wouldnt look at Capitalism and Communism and conclude both are untrue because they are conflicting.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@GermanConquistador08 I square with that equally to THAT EQUALLY what ANY OTHER DOCTRINE with it's "witnesses" might have to proclaim or as you claim FULFILLED. Look, I know how people LIKE DRAMA, and that's what this is all about. One can't GET any more dramatic than believeing in ones life carrying on after death. Let's be HONEST: All these different " SINCERE " believers warning their COMPETITION of going to HELL. Are you kidding me ? pfft.
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago

Privately, you "know" those other scriptures / doctrines are incorrect. lol This is sooo easy to see>>
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "ALL humans are tribal' -Speak for yourself. In what manner? Socially, "tribal" bonds expand far past individual communities to the point where thousands of people can be connected all in different locations. In government, we havnt lived under tribal structures since Ancient Greece. You're using the word tribal completely incorrect. The definition of tribal is "A social group existing before the development of, or outside of, states. We havnt been tribals for 3000 years.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago

Just TRY telling a muslim that jesus is the son of god & that he died on the cross for their sins...whew.
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 Two people cant be in a room together with one governing the other because in all situations humans have a need to control that situation. But NO put an atheist and a group of various religious faiths together, especially in a stressful situation, and no one will care about what religion they are. The shirts that you and I wear were made by another person, and we dont know their religion, creeds, or race. Nor do we care. Proof that tribalism is dead.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "Just TRY telling a muslim that jesus is the son of god & that he died on the cross for their sins...whew." - The majority of the time, they will politely disagree. Unless of course its asked in a demeaning or arrogent manner then they have ever right to defend their point of view. We do so on social issues, politics, our ethnic and religion values too. Its part of human nature to be efficently sure of your beliefs. And theres nothing wrong with it.

GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "Wow this IS getting tribal, did you "Notice" ? lmao" - This is what I'm talking about. "Quietly disagree with it?" - On the contrary. Participate, learn, experience these religions as their adherents do and try to learn something about their culture and how I can be a part of it.

For those who don't believe in God they sure talk about him a lot and justifying his non-existence. Sounds like security issues to me if him not existing was so evident to you why must people delve in atheistic evangelicalism its just a waste of time if anything have a creed to adhere to can be good for people why not let them be?
Somespatanwarrior 1 month ago

Anyone care to compete with me on this ?
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago

Göbekli Tepe ( in Turkey ) which predates even ancient Sumeria was really UNIQUE. >>>
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "were JUST AS UNIQUE"- Theres many things unique about all religions, cultures etc. But the point I'm making is that how does that uniqueness translate? Does it make something interesting and worth studing or worth considering? The Azte Codex is worth studing. The bible is worth considering. "make yourself feel BETTER about it" - Thats a false conclusion, I do so to make a case for the reason I consider the bible over all other religious texts.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "TAKE IN what else is OUT THERE, can you?" - I have actually. I've read parts of the Qu-ran, I'm well versed in the Aztec religion, classicalism and one of my fondest school memories was world-religions fieldtrips to buddhist temples, Hindu shrines and I would often sit with my Jewish friends who would preform their rites before dinner. I've well versed in other religions besides my own and I still feel that my case is the strongest even hearing others cases.

GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 "How entertaining that must be for you.("Those FOOLS" hehe!) Trying to live up to your own standard is nice but try to do it across the board so you dont look like such a hypocrite. "Those FOOLS" No rational human thinks that why. But maybe you do.

GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago

Why do YOU continue this?
gblueslover2 2 weeks ago
@gblueslover2 It doesnt make Quetzalcoalt or Huitzilpochtli true, but I love studing them. " In order for one to believe in any given scripture, they MUST discount another" - Not so. One scripture simply need to prove itself trustworthy enough and wait for the others to do the same. So far, only Christianity and Judaism have been as studied for the reason of belief. Most others dont. You dont need to prove something wrong in order for it to be true, just prove YOURS right.
GermanConquistador08 2 weeks ago

@sooperfukker How is he lying? Can you show that by any means?
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 Strange question. His claim that all people "know" that god exist and only look for all sorts of excuses not to follow him, is ridiculous.
The majority of people on this planet reject the christian god. Most of them because they're of another faith (and maybe proclaiming equally ridiculous things about their god(s)), some of them because they reject any faith at all and a huge number, because they never ever heard of him in the first place.
[cont]
sooperfukker 1 month ago
@sooperfukker "The majority of people on this planet reject the christian god" - In what manner? Muslims believe that Christians and Jews follow the same God as them the bible and torah are just distortion. The Christians and Jews both believe in the same God and disargue on the question of the messiah. In that respect the VAST majority of the world believes in the God of the bible and almost 1/4 of the planet are Christians counting roughly the uncountable CHristians in China, NK, India etc.
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago

GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@sooperfukker "Roughly 2,8 of them believe in the christian god. That leaves 4,2 billion not believing in him" - Actually add in Muslims and Jews its closer to...well around 4 billion+ and growing well over half the world. "These 4,2 billion people are living proof that what Brock said is factually incorrect" Well actually brock here was only talking about atheists, irreligious is only around 10% of the world so, that less than 1 billion I think.
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 That's probably the thing he didn't comprehend: He tries to aim at atheists and forgets that the majority on this planet doesn't believe in his god either, although they're not atheists.
And it's not like we're talking about just slightly different versions of the abrahamitic god, we're talking about people like Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Bahas, Shintoists and what not. These people have totally different ideas on what the term "divine" means.
sooperfukker 1 month ago
@sooperfukker And this comes from a bibilical arguement yes, that all men have some understanding of spirituality. BUT and lets make this very clear: WHY do the numbers matter? The number of atheists or Christians doesnt mask the truth of either on of those ideologies. And if we're going by numbers=truth then YOU lose. So how bout an end to the numbers game because under it, you lose by a landslide. "He himself looks like an unshaved emo." - So?
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago

And hes not a plagarist, but atheists call him that
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@sooperfukker Also, the majority of the world believes in some form of deity and the majority of the world is monothestic, and atheists in the world? Very small minority. "Therefor his initial claim is self-evidently untrue, obvious to" -Well no actually when you look at the facts that not the case but hey, facts never stopped anyone right? "we love to call them out for what they are: LIARS FOR JESUS." -Its funny because, there are no lies here, you're just making them up to suit your own
GermanConquistador08 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 Well... "some form of diety" isn't what he promotes. Let's be factual and state that he is a christian who believes in Jesus.
That so called abrahamitic monotheism goes far beyond the deism or pantheism, something one could make a somewhat reasonable claim for. Typical theists know exactly that there exists no logical pathway from a deistic position to a monotheistic position, that's why they keep on misrepresenting themselves and others.
Absurd.
sooperfukker 1 month ago
@GermanConquistador08 [2] Therefor his initial claim is self-evidently untrue, obvious to anyone. And that reflects back on him. He knows that he's forwarding an untrue claim.
We often deal with people who deliberately misrepresent their own faith or others' faiths and if these persons are christians, we love to call them out for what they are: LIARS FOR JESUS.
Besides:
Do you know that feeling when you see someone for the first time and know he's a liar?

@sooperfukker What do they call that? Lying actually interesting. Hypocritical and anti-critical HA!
Witnessing such a grand delusion is absurd.

He's a walking violation of god's commandment to not use his name in vain.

@sooperfukker "You didn't get the joke, did you?" -Yes he makes fun of guys with eyeliner so you claim he wears eyeliner even though he doesnt...hilarious.

I don't know if you want to go there?
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm (cont) Many of these societies never heard of the ten commandments, yet knew murdering your neighbor, friend, family member was not to be tolerated. Stealing something that's not yours did not have to be commanded to be understood it was not going to be OK with the ones stolen from.
As far as acts considered "evil". We are as a species barely out of the jungle. Terrible acts of violence are sadly common place among our kind. We are animals at the end of the day. Animals will kill.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm Morality, how we treat each other and what is and is not acceptable in society is not a fixed notion. Through out known history different societies have had different moral codes they lived by. It changes through out history. What is permissible in one may not be in another.
Now certain behaviours and acts like murder and theft have been universally looked down upon by 99% of all societies, at least when it comes to the way they behave in their own tribe or group. (PART 1)
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I went to your channel and watched a video called "Why Christians don't argue with atheists". What's your take on that video? Is that something you would agree with? There's no wrong answer.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm For the reason you described even if I could I wouldn't take away someones faith in God. Our conversation is not about that for me, I'm just telling you why I don't accept it.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I have already explained some of my problems with the Christian theology. Some other examples could be how could a God described as he is sit back and let a child be abducted, raped, and murdered without even a phone call to police? Think about some of the real horrors committed every single day that defies the description of a God who cares about humanity. Please don't give me the answer that we sinned against God so were responsible, tell that to those parents.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I think we approach our view of the world from different methods. Some people are comfortable with using the heart and some with the head. I guess the best of both worlds would be a combination of both.
It would take to long to reveal my last 5 year journey of discovery but let's just say it was a real eye opener.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I concede your point of righteousness being of faith. After a quick read that seems to be the claim. If you like though I could produce many other contradictions in the Bible. But like I said I'm not naive enough to think any Ah ha moments will occur here today and I'm completely fine with that.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm Being a man I seem to use my reason and fact finding ability to support my beliefs then my emotions. That kind of describes most men. For me the overwhelming evidence for common descent among all of living things shows me not that God doesn't exist but that key claims in the Bible are simply not accurate.
Example: That Adam and Eve were created as the first humans on earth. Think about the implications that occur if that's not historically true? Original sin?
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm So even some of the Bible shows Paul to be mistaken in his claims. Only because the Bible was written by many authors over a long time to reflect many different views. You can find just about anything you want to support your views or find other verses that contradict it.
I have always tried to find the truth in life. I try to be objective in my search and not only learn about but understand other people's beliefs, get into their heads. But most times it's in their hearts.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I happen to like Bill Maher, but I can also recognize his arrogant know it all style. I don't agree with many of his opinions, like what you put in your mouth is mostly responsible for cancer and other diseases. Genetics has a bigger portion.
Romans 3:10-11 is the verse they get that belief that all who never heard of Jesus and don't repent go to hell. Problem: Paul claims there is no one righteous when Matthew 1:19 claims Joesph to be a righteous man, Job 1:8 says job is blameless.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm Who are the people calling you a psychopath? I've talked with many different theists on line and most have been fair enough, you included. Were never going to supply the "Ah ha" moment of realization to one another. Me trying to change your world view is about as likely as you changing mine. But it doesn't mean we can't be pleasant and have a real conversation. Change only occurs when you really begin to challenge long held beliefs to see if they hold up to known facts.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm The point that seems to allude you is our being eternal would be the way God created us according to the Bible. Nobody consulted me about being created in a universe were 1) I could never die and 2) I would be held accountable for crimes I committed against this very being who created me while simultaneously knowing my fate. It's kind of hard to disappoint a deity who already knows the whole story including the outcome.
I know I'm repeating myself a lot, but it is a very valid point
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm It seems as if Joel 2:32 and Romans 8:28-30 are in direct conflict. One states anyone who calls on the name of the lord and the other Paul records as Gods choosing his elect and justifying them.
The reason people think God has an evil streak, not to repeat myself, is his all knowing attributes combined with his all powerful nature makes it hard to accept the hell he may have created for Satan will be used to punish people for "crimes" like unbelief forever. (Rev.21:8)
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm "We would all be in the same category then: hopeless"
Not necessarily. Doesn't Paul describe a God in Romans 8:28-30 choosing his elect before the foundation of the world?
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm I think our conversation is at a sticking point. Do you think it is just and moral for a God who knew your choices would nullify his offer of salvation to avoid a punishment he instituted and knew would befall you before you were born?
You say you came to salvation through Christ, fair enough. But what is Jesus saving you from? In the eyes of God, a punishment he knew you would or wouldn't suffer before you were born. Your choice was already known to an omniscient God. So was hell.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm "God does not want one to perish but all come to repentance".
The only reason you need to repent is because of Gods Law sin = death. The punishment is his construction. God is either omniscient of he's not. I stress a God who knew his creations would violate his Law before they were created and would be subject to his punishment unless they beg forgiveness for those very sins he had prior knowledge of is redundant and meaningless.
Gods doesn't wish for repentance he already knows

What a guy.
metalsusa1 2 months ago
@anderdorm God sent Jesus to save us from a punishment he defines and implemented. Sin = death is the law God decided on but created a loop hole. God needed a blood sacrifice to be willing to forgive the sins that he knew we would commit before the foundation of the world.
An omniscient, omnipotent deity can not hold his creations accountable for failings he knew they would commit before he created them. Unless of course might makes right.
Logic and decency dictates you have no rebuttal.

The words "full of shit" come to mind. I can't believe someone could be as deluded as to actually believe any of this.

Or is it a personal, subjective experience that you or others interpret as such?
foxhole8063 2 months ago 2

@TheAtheistAntidote Everyone knows God exists... Whether you choose to admit that or not is a completely different story.

Grace be with you.
