The pause is problly the truck defueling on the shifts to safe the stock trans. They usually have this feature built in if you have a programmer or something like that

i can't argue with that. lthough my fav is cummins cauz of its pwoer. but yes i like duramax for their speed and power stroke for their sound. ford deisels redlined are sooo loud.
nice take off...i got a question though...i plan on buying a 2003 duramax reg. cab, and i want to know if you can hear the turbo spool in that year model, and if the engine noise is really loud in the cab? thanks

Its called defueling. Protects the transmission during shifts.
