  • I love how you briefly switch leading with your left to your right, then back to your left. YOU ARE BRILLIANT!

  • Yay! i see the Refernce Pure! once again congratz bro!

  • Why do people pay for a session artist?

I understand it's for the album, but what happens when the bands original cant play it live?

    He looks dumb.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • @PennaOutdoors In I Am King's case, originally it was because their drummer's equipment wasn't up to scratch, and they needed a pro sounding record. Sometimes the drummer can't quite cut it playing to the click, and they'd rather have live drums over programmed. Other times, the band/artist doesn't have a drummer at the time of recording. Unfortunately, Travis has stopped divulging such information publicly.

  • @Mp5Drummer good call :)

  • @PennaOutdoors yes what mp5drummer said is correct, although Tito could play to a click quite well, his equipment was not up to par and sounded like hell recorded:P sooo basically was the cheapest and easiest way since we were broke from paying for the recording/driving there/etc :) so we hired travis for the two new ones to match the quality of the 3 older ones, we love travis and thank him for everything hes done!

  • awww yeaahhh Travis, smash that fuckin' ride

  • I really enjoyed this. keep up solid work my man

  • Dear Travis.

    Question 1:how old are you?

Question 2: do you recommend Truth drums?

    :)

  • Lol id be embarrassed to have somone record for me... soo embarrassing. Travis is awesome though

  • Travis > alex but both are great

  • @YouthDrummer why would you compare?

both are great drumers that have great strengths and styles and no weaknesses in their drumming.

your comment is just a stupid opinion!

  • @luisluvsblastbeats54 wats makes my opinion stupid? my opinion is mine that doesnt make it stupid, ur mom is not my mom does that make her stupid? no it doesnt.

  • travis do you bury the beater? or does anyone know of a footcam i can check out?

  • i miss the "wobbly" ride. i think it made the breakdowns classier. jk, sweet tune to IAK and sweet orbinating to the orbinator.

  • I want Set Apart- Fences!!! :)

  • Man I feel bad for all these bands that hire Orbin then have to find someone to try to attempt this stuff.

  • @rounder421 our drummers got it down pretty good!!

  • @IAKmusic Just curious, why have Travis lay the tracks rather than your touring drummer? I mean, obviously, I can see why someone would want Travis doing their tracks but why use him when you already have a drummer? Or did you not have one at the time of recording? Just curious. :-)

  • @garrettmillerdrums i believe travis explains why in the first session song "fortune in your failure" and for the second session we wanted the drums to sound the same

  • @rounder421 I have to admit this song isn't that complicated.

  • @IAKmusic So by "second session", does this mean you got Travis in to record with you guys again instead of your own drummer? Just wondering.

  • @jerrydilger yes because these songs are going to be on the same EP as the ones from the first session, so it would make sense to have the drums be the same!

  • @iakmusic

Hey where are you guys from?

  • can i ask why u put a blanket over your bass drum?

  • @Bsbo117official It's a recording technique. It helps isolate the kick out from the rest of the raw mix. Least, that's why I blanket the front of my kick. Lol

  • I watched this video thinking "wouldn't that be hilarious if he wasn't wearing anything but that t shirt, no one would know"

  • These dudes are all super cool, and I respect their faith.

  • @imdarrellkthx thanks dude:) means alot to see a positive post about us on here, people arnt so friendly sometimes:P

  • So then you don't trigger your kick? I always thought you did.

  • Thanks for reminding me I need to go drum some more, Travis

  • that guy's got one hell of a yell.

  • @JakeBPlaysMusic thanks dude, that would be me:) much appreciated! haha

  • Well done man

  • quero muito chegar nesse nível de leitura e execução !!!

Um dia eu chego la xD

    Thank's Travis Orbin

    - Brazil

  • You put of machines in the tags. This pleases me.

  • I wish I still had time to drum tonight! Inspiration right here!

  • You and Alex Rudinger are DEFINITELY the guys I look forward to seeing new content from the most. Both of you have flawless technique and killer chops. Loving every single video you put out man, keep up the amazing work.

  • @Knifehorse Pretty sure Rüdinger was one of Orbins students, as well.

  • @BreanMate Yeah he was - you can find his testimonials on Travis's website.

  • @BreanMate Yeah I've heard that, I can definitely see the influence.

  • @Knifehorse It's funny you say that because Alex took lessons from Travis =P

  • Mate, you definitely set the standard for drumming these days, keep it up.

  • sweet

  • Do you tune your snare with the batter head tighter than the reso head?

  • Dude, Travis, you are the reason I keep drumming. Seriously. I almost gave up on playing. Then I see another one of your videos and it makes me feel better. Thanks man. Keep on doin' what you're doin'!
