Good point on the birds, as to the circumference, you are reading a translation, I understand that in the Hebrew there is a character that rounds it out to pi but was not translatable. The ancient cultures knew about Pi, and even if the bible is not infallible, I am certain that moses who was raised by Pharoah who built great works would have known about Pi.

I believe. I am an Orthodox Christian. I was not raised in a church-going family. With everything I do, I think about it long and hard. I can't just "believe as a child", i need to research everything before i make a decision. In my mind, life without God is meaningless. Without God and an afterlife, morality goes out the door. Not only that, people following His Way become saints, as shown throughout history. Miracles: many many testimonies over two thousand years, and personal experience. I agree with elcap22, non-Ahmadis are in for one big disppointment. However, Allah has already sent Jesus in this world in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). He thought Jesus (as) was alive at first and that he was coming to earth, but he was told by Allah that that was false, and was told that this was in the Holy Quran. How true that was! His revelations are proven correct because the Holy Quran does not stand for such nonsense. It stands on truth and not fantasy. Wake up!

His name was Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), and he claimed to be the mujaddid of the turn of the fourteenth century Hijra and claimed he was the mahdi and Messiah (in spiritual likeness to Jesus (as)) and he lived from circa 1835 to 1908. The message he brought was that Islam had been corrupted for the 1000 years before he was told by God that he was the mahdi and Messiah and that he had to revive the teachings of Islam because the ulema of today have corrupted them to their own likings.

Where does the bible state that the earth is flat? Where does it state that insects have four legs? Maybe from the perspective of flight, bats are defined as birds. The planets are called "wandering stars" in the bible, we call them planets, or wanderers. Pi in the bible is the same, there was something lost in the translation to English, it is the English who messed up. There is a book that is entitle, "the sun always rises" do you think the author thought the sun rose or is it metaphor?

Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation all require a flat earth.

Good point on the birds, as to the circumference, you are reading a translation, I understand that in the Hebrew there is a character that rounds it out to pi but was not translatable. The ancient cultures knew about Pi, and even if the bible is not infallible, I am certain that moses who was raised by Pharoah who built great works would have known about Pi.

Again though, we don't consider the bat to be a bird, but the people of that day might have, so you have to keep that in the context. Biblical inerrancy does not mean that everything in it is true, it only means that the message that God wanted to get over to us is all there, even though there are differences of interpretation. I used to struggle with the Pi question many years ago until I heard chuck missler explain it.

The Egyptians considered Pi to be 3.1,
so Moses should indeed have known better.
But then the claim is that the book was written by YHWH,
with Moses only acting as the conduit
(if it was Moses at all, which is doubtful),
and surely YHWH would know the true value of Pi.
So we're back to ignorant men writing the Bible.

The bible uses over 200 figures of speech...it is not to be taken literally unless the context requires it. Isaiah speaks of God as having wings, but He is not a chicken, He is spirit.

Sin is not allowed in Heaven, but your allah is going to give you full breasted maidens and wine to drink in Heaven? Since when does the physical mean anything to spiritual Heaven? And your book says Adam was 90 feet tall. In the Bible, the only giants were the offspring of the fallen angels (this should tell you something). And man has shrunk? So when God went to talk to Adam in the garden he was looking up at him? I don't think so. Wake Up. Jesus said there WILL be false prophets, not maybe.

I do understand. I understand that the Bible is the word of God and we were warned about false prophets and doctrines of devils. I understand that Islam claims the Bible is corrupt and when the Dead Sea Scrolls verified it, Islam doesn't care, they keep their doctrines of man. I understand that anything said by a muslim or Islam concerning Jesus Christ is your opinion with no scriptural evidence at all. Just rumors. You're deceived. We were told 600 yrs. before the quran not to accept any other book or word other than the Bible. We were warned not to do it. So you muslims say the Bible is corrupt, then come along the Dead Sea Scrolls and verify the Bible's authenticity and prove muslims are deceived...but you still keep on your path. The Bible is confirmed by every prophet, something the quran does not do. God verifies his word through all prophets so we know it's from him. Yours doesn't. Period.

I believe because i researched the whole bible and by faith i responded to what it said. when i did what it said miracels in life begin to happen. I cant explain to you how faith works, other than unless you study the life of Jesus and respond like millions of others have its hard for someone to prove its truths. I believe. I am an Orthodox Christian. I was not raised in a church-going family. With everything I do, I think about it long and hard. I can't just "believe as a child", i need to research everything before i make a decision. In my mind, life without God is meaningless. Without God and an afterlife, morality goes out the door. It doesn't matter if you're a murderer or if you life a 'pure' life - you end up the same way. It's very depressing.
