  • Spa Francorchamps it's the best circuit race around the world! OR I cannot tell you which one is better really ... Between Spa or Nurbügring Nordschleife...I miss Mikka on F1. -**- (

  • goood lap :)

  • Its Mika Hakkinen everybody, the driver even Michael Schumacher feared!!

  • Wow, super clean!

  • best driver ever

  • Eau Rouge flat!!!

Just shows how advanced DTM cars are in terms of aerodynamics!

They create more downforce than most people think, whith flat undertray, large diffusers etc....nice!!!

For me its cornering speed and not top speed that makes racing fun to watch!

  • i feel u on this

  • @Michaelingolfhansen

I dont remember reading a good coment for a long time.

    Thank you Michael

  • Well, thanks! :-)

They must be the best looking touring cars in the world!

And for some reason those flat undertrays with huge diffusers - which is like looking into a frightening black hole from hell - just amazes me!

That part of the cars gives flashbacks to the F1-cars of the early 90's!

I wonder how high the speed has to be, before these cars - in theory - could drive upside down?

  • Great driver, great car, makes it LOOK easy...

  • häkkinen was very unlucky in 2007 he lost 4victoris becose team fucked with his pitstops and becose sc show up always in wrong time.. like in norisring where häkkinne was easily fastest driver and was leading the race.. then safety car came and mika dropped out of the points

  • so slow for him!

  • Hakkinen has won some dtm races.

  • Both Eau-Rouge and Blanchimont are flat out...amazing car!

  • great

  • beautiful sound 4.4 V8 Mercedes

  • why does this guy never seem to win in dtm? its crazy,he was amazing in f1 !! makes no sense,i guess he does'nt want it bad..

  • The thing is that F1 drivers are not too good with stock based cars as opposed to F1 and other formula cars. This is the reason why DTM or WTCC drivers always win Race of Champions. This year (2007) again Schumacher lost it to Ekstrom. Ekstrom was simply better.

  • I still think that there shouldn't be rally cars in Race of Champions, because the rally drivers get a huge advantage. And yes i know it's because it used to be an even purely for rally drivers. But in 2008 almost every one but Loeb stalled the rally car... instead they should use something like banger racers... that would be fun to watch :)

  • I would not agree with that because I didn't see rally drivers benefitting from driving a rally car. I saw otherwise though: those who tried to apply rally driving style were slower than those who did not slid the car. Loeb? He is good not at rally, but at circuit driving too.

  • well maybe it was a bit of a stretch to call it an "advantage", "experience" may be a better word. And yes, Loeb is a fast circuit racer to, when he drove for Pescarolo's LMP1 team in Le Mans he was one of their fastest drivers. In contrast Colin Mcrae didn't do quite so well in the GTS Ferrari 599 Modena, i counted 6 spins made by him during the 24 hours... One of the spins resulted in a broken transmission who put them in the garage for over 32 minutes

  • The track and tarmac in ROC favors the circuit drivers. Back in the days when the competition was only between rally drivers they were driving in the mud and dirt as well.

In tarmac it doesn't pay to slide the car you loose time. In real world, rally drivers don't know the track, they go by the directions of the co-driver and thus they have to drive defensively, ckt drivers learn to optimize their driving in a given ckt but that doesn't work on rally tracks. .

  • It's not the track i was talking about, it's the car...

Rally drivers know how to make the most of a rally car, circuit racers don't know that to the same degree. A big part of being a good driver is to know your car... Loeb and other rally drivers also have an advantage in knowing how to drive 4WD cars on tight tracks, like the tarmac super specials. Cornering, braking and accelerating is very different from a RWD F1, Touring car or Le Mans racer

  • because no matter how much you tune them theyll never match a F1 they drive way differently so switching is hard..tyapkajp is right as well

  • did he make eau rouge flat?

  • yes indeed

  • Any1 see him overtake Schumacker on this track? Now thats some sweet driving!!

  • it sits so nicely through the curves and he brakes so late every time that i think he is going to go off :D:D:D

  • THIS is a RACER

  • one of the great flyin finns of all time in a real driver's circuit, fantastic..

  • absolutely, and in a real drivers car, rear wheel drive, loads of power, and no traction control or other eletronic driver aids. Brilliant!

  • we all know what mika can do at spa!

  • perfect lap of mika, i think he won the race, but it´s really impressing that you can go with maximum speed through eau rouge and blachimont with a dtm race car

  • He is one of masters of Spa Francorchamps.

  • Those things have so much grip! great video.
