@DilannisWorld Yep! Soap and water is all I did. The healing time probably took a few months. It felt pretty much fine after the first week or so though. As long as you keep it clean and don't touch it too much, it should heal fairly quickly. :) Good luck!
My tattoo and piercing place is really good, because they have tattoo artists, but they also have professional piercers, but I do agree that some tattoo shops just do piercings on the side, so I guess it just depends where you live and who you go to.

@SnowShiit I get runny noses a lot too and as far as I can tell it hasn't affected the healing or anything. I'd suggest cleaning around it with a cotton swab just in case. :)
I just got my septum pierced and ur jewelry looks exactly the same size and colors as mine. Black ring with silver balls i think? And i got mine for the same reason. Convenient :)

hooray, im 15 and i have my rook, daith, bellybutton, nose, three lobes and both my ears stretched to 10mm ( all done in less than a year ) and i'm super keen on getting my spetum next week, i found it is addictive, you're pretty bvrave to get it done straight off because if i wasn't for getting other things i wouldn't ever be brave enough for my spetum but i'm keen to take a risk, i really trust my piercer so we'll see how that goes :)

@monsterrise I completely understand. I was more of a "n00b" to stretching upon filming this video. I'm currently stretching my ears, so I'm a bit more educated on the correct terms now. Everyone in my area calls it "gauging" so it's a bit harder to know what to call it when that's all you've heard your whole life. lol.
I got mine done yesterday...mine felt like it took forever, though! It stung so bad...but I'm pretty good with tolerating pain...so I didn't feel faint or anything. I had to drive back to school after, because I went to do it during my lunch break lol. My nose is really tender now, though, even where it's not pierced =(
@TheCrazies135 I was able to flip mine up immediately after getting it pierced. Just try not to touch it a lot while it's healing and you should be good. :)

@bobbyemq You can flip it up immediately after you get it done. I wouldn't suggest touching it or playing around with it too much, but you can definitely hide it right away if you want. It shouldn't bother it too much. :)

@OceanSoulChild I can't remember how long it took for mine to heal, but it didn't take too long and I think I kept cleaning it daily for at least 4 months or so.
My mom didn't want me to get a septum piercing, so i did it myself ! Ive had it for almost a month now. You just have to make sure you are not hitting any cartilage in your nose. I did some research before i did it.

@WhatsUpDebbie I probably cleaned it 2 or 3 times a day. I got it pierced over a year ago so it's a bit hard to remember, but I don't really have to clean it now that it's healed. I'll swab around it once in a while if I had a runny nose or something, but that's about it. :]
@kiwisgoquack Yep! I usually just used a small cup and used 1 pump of Dial foaming antibacterial soap and then filled the rest up with warm water. You can kind of stick your nose down in there and blow bubbles (haha) and then get a cotton swab to get around the holes. Sea salt soaks would probably do the same thing. Or H2Ocean spray would be fine too. :] I just got my vertical labret pierced last night so I'm using H2Ocean on that currently. :D Good luck with your healing process! <3

@donthrowchairs Nope! It shouldn't be noticeable at all. I was able to flip mine up right away without pain or anything. And mine didn't bleed at all or anything. The only redness you might have would be inside your nose and no one should be able to see it! :D
it looks great on you! i know everyone says their piercing didnt hurt but mine hurt soo bad! the pain radiated to my upper lip and i didnt realize i had my face scrunched up until my piercer was like, okay you can relax now. but anyways, i can't wait to change mine to a smaller jewelery like yours.

Females take a septum piercing like a beast! I got mine done in April, and after the needle went in, I said, "That was it?! What the hell!" I'd watch Youtube videos on them, and people cried, so I was pretty freaked. You look amazing with yours. It suits you so well.

@xxpandafacexx Wellllll.. My glasses slid down my face and ripped it out. It was very unfortunate.. lol. It got all swollen and nasty, so I didn't try forcing it back in, but once the swelling went down, it was pretty much closed. I might get it done again. I haven't decided yet. I do miss it a lot, though.
The first time I got my septum done, they pierced it through the cartilage. I felt fine, I didn't feel a thing, my eyes didn't water, I felt like a champ. Then when I was tipping her and she was talking about aftercare, I felt like my head was in a jar. I could barely hear, I was getting nauseous, and I had turned white. They rushed me to the couch to lay down and fed me M&Ms and water. I don't know what happened, but I think it was because I was freaking out so badly before I got it done.
@laurenisokay That's the same exact feeling I had when I stood up. I felt like I was in a bubble and the piercer sounded like the adults in Charlie Brown "wahhhh wah wahhh wah." lol. I'm not sure why because I wasn't really freaking out before. My guess was adrenaline or something.

aww i love you septum! i just got my done like an HOUR ago! xD
it was a pain to flip it in for the first time.
any advice on how to keep it clean the easiest way?! How many times a day should i clean it?!

@bracarnes Haha, I almost passed out when I got mine done and couldn't really pay attention either! lol. Basically to clean mine I took a small cup, and used a pump of Dial antibacterial foaming soap then filled the rest of the cup with warm water. I used a q-tip and dipped it in that and used that to clean around my piercing. I think I did this once or twice a day. :] Good luck with your healing and everything!

I want to get myne done this Friday but i have to hide it and I'm going to a family dinner on sunday so like will it be really obvious i got it pierced or will it be like red or bleeding or anything when i first get it done?

@donthrowchairs Nope! It shouldn't be noticeable at all. I was able to flip mine up right away without pain or anything. And mine didn't bleed at all or anything. The only redness you might have would be inside your nose and no one should be able to see it! :D

it looks great on you! i know everyone says their piercing didnt hurt but mine hurt soo bad! the pain radiated to my upper lip and i didnt realize i had my face scrunched up until my piercer was like, okay you can relax now. but anyways, i can't wait to change mine to a smaller jewelery like yours.

Females take a septum piercing like a beast! I got mine done in April, and after the needle went in, I said, "That was it?! What the hell!" I'd watch Youtube videos on them, and people cried, so I was pretty freaked. You look amazing with yours. It suits you so well.

haha I've always been scared to get pierced at a shop where they're all tattoo artists, but like, one dude does piercings also. That's just like "oh yeah we wanna make extra money so I'll do that for you too!" lol we don't have any shops around here that are just for piercings but the place I go to has a person that is strictly a piercer and doesn't do anything else, then the rest of them are tattoo artists, I like that much better than the "I tattoo and pierce too!" lol

I had a labret and a belly piercing that I'd done my self, (very impulsive) surprisingly they didn't get infected. Since then I've taken them out, I got bored with them and they weren't good for job interviews. I love the way your septum piercing looks on you, on some people, it just doesn't look right.

After having my nostril pierced, I've actually become more of a fan of the septum piercings.. Nostril piercings are so freakin' annoying even though I miss mine a lot.

@xxpandafacexx Wellllll.. My glasses slid down my face and ripped it out. It was very unfortunate.. lol. It got all swollen and nasty, so I didn't try forcing it back in, but once the swelling went down, it was pretty much closed. I might get it done again. I haven't decided yet. I do miss it a lot, though.

The first time I got my septum done, they pierced it through the cartilage. I felt fine, I didn't feel a thing, my eyes didn't water, I felt like a champ. Then when I was tipping her and she was talking about aftercare, I felt like my head was in a jar. I could barely hear, I was getting nauseous, and I had turned white. They rushed me to the couch to lay down and fed me M&Ms and water. I don't know what happened, but I think it was because I was freaking out so badly before I got it done.

@laurenisokay That's the same exact feeling I had when I stood up. I felt like I was in a bubble and the piercer sounded like the adults in Charlie Brown "wahhhh wah wahhh wah." lol. I'm not sure why because I wasn't really freaking out before. My guess was adrenaline or something.
