i was thinking about it you know how kinect reads your movements what if when first playing an fps on kinect you have to choose the controls to fit your movement like one small step forward to run and a big step to sprint (which i meen like put one foot in front) the it will ask how would you like the reload motion to work you could raise your arm up and pretend ur reloading a gun then it will analise and thats how you reload ect you get what i mean

I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's the thin edge of the wedge with this new type of technology. Use it for FPS? Who cares! It's a DIFFERENT way to play games. if you want to use xbox 360 controller on pc you will have to download a driver for it so the pc reconize it as a xbox 360 controller not a usb device

That is possible!

At some point you see me holding the controller with one ( left ) hand ( when I switch back to motion controls ), just to let everybody see I am not faking it.

At that point I could run with the left stick and aim with the whole controller. I only needed to change the fire/reload trigger to the left one and the A,B,X,Y buttons to the D-pad.

Well, its up to the developers if they are gonna support it but the color of the controller shoulden't be an isseu because kinect tracks your body that is holding the controller and not the controller self.

No this ain't the way. If I was to play a shooter on kinect, i'd wanna hold a gun replica to do the actual aiming. Kinect has to sense the body posture in relation to the gun. Movement will have to be controlled in the off hand via analog sticks built into the forward vertical assault grip of the gun replica.

this is extremley similar to the setup with KZ2 sniper controls (which alot of gamers hated), i've also noticed how this is on the PC version of Half Life 2 i dont think any PC gamer would give up the mouse and keyboard for motion/ gamepad hybrid interesting concept tho

That's more work and slower reaction to just using the analog sticks. You also have to correct your position a lot since you turn too far many times. Aiming is way worse than what people can do with standard analog sticks as well.

It's great that you're looking into this, but two fingers moving in small circles are always going to be faster than two arms moving back and forth.

Not really your thinking about this all wrong. Motion control, the technology itself, was around before the Wii. The games may have been revolutionary in there categories (the best Metroid Game, The best mario game, ect.) But they haven't done anything for gaming itself. Sixaxis isn't left or right... Its like a box with a ball in it... When the box is level the ball will go to the center. When you tilt the box in any direction the ball will move that way. That how games basically are like with sixaxis. I don't think you get it... You need to use it to really get it... You probably have only used it in driving games.
