John(and his dad) is the only Andretti that isnt a whiny little bitch that tries to blame everything on everyone else. thats why hes my favorite andretti. also his dad live 5 minutes from me and hes a swell guy
I know what you mean! Michael will whine over anything and everything when something happends. My advice is, their getting paid millions of dollars to drive a car so they all should shut up up and drive!
I have always loved the #43 car and it was great to see Andretti win in it that day I was so happy. Glad I didn't know it would have been the last win for both of them I would have been more sad than happy!
This is a sad day for Petty entrprises they will be sold to GEM so for the first time sence 1949 they will not field a car. This is a black day for Nascar.

NASCAR is in a downward spiral and if you think otherwise your ignorant, the indy 500 this year was amazing to be at, the whole weekend was, carb day, everything, helio said it best when he decided saying that he didnt want to leave the IRL after the franchitti ordeal saying, "maybe the grass ISN'T greener on the other side." IRL is talent skill finesse, nascar is bumping and banging to the stripe, and the COT cars are rediculous theres an auto correct tool that the car saves itself...racing?
Okay. I get your point. But what would you rather see? Racing where our heroes and other drivers are killed? Or would you rather see your favorite again next weekend? Drivers in the IRL almost get killed on a regular basis. The IRL and formula one both aren't as safe as the can, but will, be.

okay saxaboner, the last IRL driver killed was Paul Dana at Homestead and he was going 175 after the yellow came out when carpenter was going about 2 as he was rolling to a stop after crashing, if a nascar t-boned a car they would be horiffically injured, or like Dana, killed, the IRL has come so far that the number of horrific injuries has has been almost non-existant which is all you can ask for in racing, do some research before spouting your mouth off, with your logic, let's build nerf cars
It's in the same spiral open wheel racing is STILL in. Only difference is it isn't due to a split. I look for NASCAR to get back on track. INDY has work to do to get back to it's former glory. I for one WANT to see it, but don't know if that will happen. I want to see the quality of racing back to the early 90's level. After 1995, Indy has suffered, and 96 was the last year of having good INDY cars on the track.
Let's see here. IRL has No Talent. Nobody buys tickets to the races and IRL is Exporting all their talent to NASCAR. The Indy 500 isn't what is used to be. And finally, when CART split and you know this indyfan22k it was the wrong decision and you FUCKING KNOW IT!!!!! IRL has reduced its self to sponsering go-kart races on Veruses. The IRL should be renamed the NTRL(No Talent Racing League) You can even ask open wheel racing analyist Robin Miller. All the IRL has Danica Patrick.
Alot of you guys are wrong. This was John's last win. Martinsville was not bigger it just looked bigger because they didn't have safer barriers back then. John won at Daytona in 1997 not Rockingham. He also didn't win at Martinsville in '01 but he finished 2nd at Bristol his last career top 5
Actually, that was Dale Jarrett who won in April 2001. I remember it fondly because I was furious he beat Rudd. 2001 was, however, Andretti's most recent top-five finish, which came at the rain-shortened Michigan race won by Sterling Marlin.
No, it was not. Hamilton won the pole at Phoenix the week after he won at Rockingham, but Dale Jarrett won that race. 1998's Phoenix race went to Rusty Wallace. Why's everyone breaking my balls on this one?!
Martinsville Rules. NASCAR would be stupid to ever leave that place.

@McCall72 NASCAR ever leaves Martinsville that will be the day I quit watching NASCAR. Martinsville is the shit.

I like Indycar, but I also like NASCAr, so please be a little less vocal on the NASCAR pages. This is like the 5th I've seen your comments on.
Stop being so partisan. or go on a V8 Supercar page and write Ford sucks.. Then you know what partisanship is.

GO ANDRETTI ONE MORE WIN!!
vanarsdale123 4 years ago 10
Too bad no one cares about Indy.
The only reason why anyone would care about indy is because of Danica Patrick and Milka Duno
ravelizard 4 years ago
Exactly. Ever since 1995 The Daytona 500 has done the Indy 500 in TV ratings and attendence nadeau1064 can atest to that.
