These two videos show simple, safe exercises to strengthen the hip abductors and hip external rotator muscles that may help to stabilize the knee. These exercises can usually be done in the acute phase, if the knee is still sore. Apply ice to a knee that is hot, red, swollen or tender tot he touch.
@finalresistance Great question - knee pain may derive from hip movement dysfunction - especially in athletic populations. Specifically, weakness of the hip abductors and hip external rotator muscles can cause "knee valgus" or "knock knees" (where the knees touch together or move inward during step down and landing).
I will attach videos showing safe exercises for the hips which can be done if the knees are painful.
Squats, lunges and weightbearing exercises are good if you have no pain.
i think this video gives enough info to get the benefits needed. sure it could be more technical but its prob not needed. im going to start doing these today for a torn mcl that isnt healing fast enough. the only complaint i have about this video is wearing a tie with a short sleeve button down haha. also i wish i had a cervelo

You're a clueless muppet, aren't you? What the hell is the "thigh" muscle? I'd like to see the reaction of my Anatomy teacher if I answered "thigh" muscle on an exam.
You give no information about supine, give no information on muscle names and functions. All medicinal videos should be as informative as possible.
Very informative video.
Metriks' FCE software allows the healthcare professional to objectively quantify and report on a person's functional abilities.
