  • Gay?

  • I just bet you girls eyes were glued to the TV set with this guy shirtless asnd everything. The 70's were the greatest times for single artists to shine.

  • krakenwave, really good thing.

TheGlorielius100, you've been the best dancer there and the day I was allowed to follow your stepps was so wonderfull. Remember the cool one nowadays collection money on dancefloor. Lol, oh yes, 77pintoboy, this went over him one day (GM told him to return, if I remember right). Nice to read from you!

  • I heard this in 1973 sang by Margareth Singana (South Africa)

  • Reminds me of washing my brothers car when i had his radio blasting this stuff on K-Tel 8 track lol

  • sadly i'm born from 90's

  • yep most likely hear it on the real don steal show on am radio.

  • Summer between 10th & 11th grade! Started dating the "Hot" new guy at school. This was "our song". Thought it would last forever. Fortunately, so far it has!! Married 33 years-4 kids and happier than we have ever been! Maybe there is something in a song! (or is it an empty nest)?

  • I remember waking up to this when the radio alarm went on.

    Dat feeling was so nice.

  • Love this song George is so fine

  • george had help writing this k.c. from kc and the sunshine band helped also, what a great song, oh the memories

  • @doubblejj1

KC and Richard Finch wrote this entirely, KC intending to record it with the Sunshine Band with himself on vocals. It was too high pitched for him to do the way he wanted it to sound, so they were going to give it TK Studio session singer Gwen McCrae - but she was late for the session so her husband George ended up doing the solo instead. George had nothing to do with the writing or arrangement - he just came in and did the vocals as directed.

  • @krakenwave Great background history. You have to tip your hat to the man,he owns it.I couldn't think of anybody else singing this,it's beautiful.

  • @PBGSURFER65

Oh yes, George's vocal was just excellent - chance here worked a total win.

I can just imagine what it must have been like in the TK studio after he'd laid this down. Something like KC saying: "Ya know, I think this one just might be a hit.." (followed by the sound of an enormous line of coke getting hoovered up off the mixing desk).

  • Like!

  • Why has he got a dead rat on his shoulder?

  • @PattayaDIRTY I think it might be Michael Jackson's other glove.

  • @hotstuffandicecream Except for the price of gas...I went to Kingston Jamaica in 1998 and 2000 and that song was still playing like a hit...was so cool....under the heat....

  • @Herbalskankin Bull shit ! just because they are not supported by the music industry does not mean black/white or whatever changed for the worse. Just stop listen to your top40 music start to go to jazz festivals. And people like him are still on the stage so support them and stop complaining. So it's not them changing it's the whole world.

The big labels like to promote stupid people, that does not mean there are still talented people. You make it sound like "black" people changed

  • @tavistocktv Thats something I would do and did when I learned to play guitar!Youre lucky to have experienced the generation mines all adhd and hip hop haha youre comment made my day

  • Gwenn MacCrae... "Rockin' Chair" REMEMBER ??????

  • classic 70's song EPIC I sing this for my girlfriend lol Great dancing song when you have had weed ow yea :)

  • Awesome '70s song! It's really calming:)

  • I sort of remember 1974. Even though I was born in 1985 the 70's was an OK decade for TV. You had shows like The Waltons, MASH, Laverne & Shirley, etc. So you also had music like The Bee Gees, George McCrae, Tom Jones, Freda Payne, KC & The Sunshine Band, The Eagles well you catch my drift.

  • no one can make music like this anymore.....you'd think it would be easy to play nowadayz but no....the sound, tune, bass, vocal, rhythm is sacred and locked secretly for the 70s.....golden era of music.

  • Summer 1974, riding around in the car with this on the radio!... great memories

  • "Don't worry," said the manager, misinterpreting the source of Dannen's concern. "It's a rental car."

  • @barneyfifesbullet Great story, thanks!! I can so vividly imagine the scene you describe, the suits, the hair-dos, the language. Poor George and all the other wonderful, talented musicians that know nothing about business

  • He complained that he was number one across the world with "Rock Your Baby" and yet he had no money to show for it. "Stop whingeing," his boss said to him. "See that Cadillac out in the parking lot? Here's the keys, it's yours and I don't want to hear another word about money from you." As McCrae took the keys and headed towards the car, Dannen expressed outrage that a star could be treated in that way.

  • But few of the rip-offs and litigation tales, the posthumous scraps and legal shenanigans, can match the case related by Frederick Dannen in his book Hit Men. It referred to George McCrae, a soul singer who few could blame if he had sought legal advice. Dannen was interviewing McCrae's record company boss on another matter when the singer himself burst into the office.

  • Get down boogie oogie oogie,by Taste of Honey is a Disco song.Listen to the faster pace drum, cymbal, and bass.

  • Many a night dancing to this at the A-House P'town.....LOVE DISCO

  • @badboybaldy1 I am not from the 70's I am a late 80's baby but oh I do get it and love it......wish I was from the 70's

  • I remember 1974...What a kick ass year for music! This song (and others) were all over the A.M. radio dials! Do you remember that little car speaker under the front dashboard? Ha! We would turn up the car radio so loud listening to stuff like this that the speaker would sound so terribly distorted! And after a while the speaker would rot out and vibrate something awful...But we didn't care...Life was so good in '74!

  • @mrob75 It sure was! It 'm from the 80"s, too bad!

  • @mrob75 good times stay cool
