He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:15-16
Hear what God of Israel YAHUSHUA-YAHUWAH (Son and Father are ONE) saying to our generation by His chosen prophets: Trumpetcallofgodonline. com ; Letter called "Purify Your Faith, and Come to the Father as It is Written": EXCERPT: "Only in the Bible and through these very Letters, of which I have given to My prophet of the end of this age, shall you find Him and know Him."
Many Christians want to believe so badly they will ignore scientific evidence, reason, common sense and their own better judgment. Religions have perverted the meaning of the word "truth." The Websters Dictionary definition says what the word means: truth: "being in accord with fact or reality" - Search for "Church of Innerspace" in Google and read what it says. It is not what you think it is.
@chuchkahickey Science presupposes math and logic to be true and therefore to say it proves it would be arguing in a circle. What you determine as "fact and reality" based on scientific evidence still falls under the human interpretation of the data. And when you state "Many Christians want to believe so badly they will ignore scientific evidence, reason..." you are committing the genetic fallacy. The validity of a truth claim is not determined by how one obtains that knowledge.
Missional means helping people without telling them the gospel and their need for it. Be Evangelical and not Missional. Who cares if the church rebuilds the crack houses into community gardens like they have in Detroit through my church. In fact, SCREW community service as the main thing. Tell people about Christ. Don't "tell" them by the way you live. ACTUALLY *TELL* them that they need to come to a saving faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ, Who Died and Rose again For our sins!
@ryanellis000 Jesus specifically says in the Bible that his followers will be known by their love for others, that is: by the way they live their lives in the service of others. John 13:35, look it up.
Hello, my name is Debora and i have great news to tell you.
We loved your video so much that ww wanted to have it translated to spanish, so everyone could see it. So, we did it, but we wanted to tell you that we put your author rights at the end, saying that this is your original idea. It was great!
Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate it. It's a great reminder for everyone, but especially for some of those mega churches who basically run their services like any other business ploy.
I love this... so much. The church doesn't hold itself responsible to the Great Commission. It has become way to easy to say that one's way of helping is praying or giving monetarily. While these things are good and necessary, it is certainly not justified to stop there. I'm Facebook sharing this. Thanks for it :)
I think for those of us who have been in the church for so long, it is good to be reminded how we are called to reach beyond our narrow doors and to reach out in love to those in our communities. So many churches send people out to preach and "save" and all they do is condemn and judge. The compassion and justice of Jesus is to be found in the ways in which we work to truly love our neighbors and work for a just society. "Preach the Gospel always. Sometimes use words." (St. Francis)
@karakzanreal because religious communities serve the community/city around them in real, measurable ways. Giving the religious group a tax break in turn makes it easier for the that group to give back in ways that the government can't or is ineffective and inefficient at doing
A religious group does not necessarily help anyone though many do. I'm all for giving tax breaks to charity organizations but giving tax breaks to religious organizations which means that they have more money to proselytize does not seem like a good idea to me. Especially when that money could have gone to charity instead. Why wast effort on imaginary good when real good can be done?
@karakzanreal I understand your point and it's true that not all religious groups give back or serve others but charitable organizations are not all created equal either. Groups and individuals will always find ways to abuse and/or get around tax rules. It comes down to whether you believe most religious groups are honestly out for the betterment of society or exist ultimately to serve themselves or their cause. That is somewhat subjective
Imaginary good? Well then I'm proud our imaginary soup kitchen that feeds 650 a week the pantry where 2,600 lbs of food is distributed monthly, our outreach program to the 2400 refugees living in our town. We provide school supplies and uniforms as well as tutoring and English classes is also is just a figment of imagination, well it was till we did it. We are not rich but we make do. When's the last time you saw the the smile of a mother who's kids now clothes and food to eat?
@NWHBC I thought that it would be clear from the context but let me spell it out for you.
Charity does not need religion, but religion needs charity to justify all the weird rituals and dogmas. If people need fear of eternal fire to do good they are horribly immoral people.
I'm glad I live in a country where the majority of people have no problem helping the needy with their time and money even though they only goes to church to be baptized, married and buried.
Enjoyed the video.... Its very clear and concise and its Christ's model. Though people also came to Christ, He came to us first and was always missional!
To begin. First, let me explain why I do not believe in religion. If we are created from Adam and Eve, how is it that we have four blood types, not two? According to the evolution, religion does not exist so i do not accept mutation as an answer.
My understanding is be you can be and should be both missional AND attractional such as Driscoll suggests. I think this video shows very plainly what many of us have experienced and that is in many evangelical churches everything is based on programs, building projects, and the pastor and doesn't do a good job of reaching out and not enough energy is spent on discipling Believers to be salt and light in their respective spheres on influence.
On the one hand I agree with the critique of program oriented, marketing-oriented churches. And people being witnesses in their workplaces, etc. is great. But there is an appropriate place for inviting people to hear the Gospel at church - minus the slick charismatic personality and multimedia stuff. Also, how are individuals supposed to demonstrate Christian community to their neighbors if they are the only Christian that their neighbors know? Answer: invite 'em to church.
great explanation. I am so sick and tired of "missional church" folk throwing out terms without defining them and sounding all spiritual with no meaning to what they are saying.
all christians want to see more people come to christ.
I like the concept but we don't need a church to send us out.
each individual has the calling to carry the gospel to their family and neighborhood.
the term missional church makes it more confusing than it needs to be.
Why can't a church be missional and invitational? Seems like a whole lot of people came to hear Peter speak in Acts...and God used the preaching of one man to convince thousands.
Also, Jesus sent his disciples out into the world to tell others about him... when he was begining his ministry and after his ressurection. He wanted them to be missional too.
Shouldn't a church use both of these strategies if it is serious about the Gospel?
Actually, you can accomplish both. I think Mars Hill Bible Church under Mark Driscoll is doing both. But I think we have relied on attractional/invitational for too long. We have failed to be missional, so we need to rediscover what that is all about.
Church for centuries have had evangelical missions! Their goal? To convert all people to their religion by force if need be! Yep, Jesus love would be spread by way of FEAR, and it's STILL THAT WAY to this day!!!!!

oh man, it's so much easier to toss away flyers for churches than deal with people preaching to you at school. please leave the rest of us all. There isn't a person in America who isn't painfully aware of how fanatics love jesus. Just let us be, and stop talking about how much you love invisible sky wizards with magic powers.
I'm so sorry this came across that way. This is intended to explain how Christians ought to live out the best of the church wherever they are -- compassion, justice, love, Jesus. This is not advocating the random accosting of strangers in order that they might be told a story. In fact, though it may not have been clear enough, it's quite the opposite. The whole concept is predicated on pre-existing friendship relationships where faith and life already naturally intersect.
