no lol a human blastocyst is not actually a physical human being because it is simply a blastocyst. No brain, no human parts just a collection of cells which will eventually become a human being. A blastocyst is not itself a human being; alot of prolifers like to say a blastocyst is a human being but they are wrong by definition. You are using an expected outcome (human being) as a definition for something previous in the process. That is a logic gap.

Cindy - Without giving another history lesson, let me just say, for decades scientists have been working to understand the mysteries of ESCs. Bottom line, ESCR is a total failure. Yet, ASCR has produced hundreds of positive results for people, today. Although mr oblama talks a good talk, and has released federal funds for ESCR, he has also stopped federal funds to ASCR.

The only thing I can say about mr oblama is he's a liar.

Cindy, The same day mr oblama lifted President Bush's ban on using Federal Funds for Embryonic Stem Cell Research, he also stopped any and all Federal Funds for Adult Stem Cell Research. So, he gives this big speech on how he wants to further discovery on Stem Cell Research and then he eliminates funds for the one area that is showing the most promise.

I really think freezing embryos is quite strange. They could be frozen for 20 yrs, perhaps as long as the donor pays for them. It does sound like a weird science experiment. It's like they are in limbo, so that's why I feel they don't have the capacity to think and they aren't a human being because they are frozen and cell division isn't occurring anymore. Is that correct? We know that life itself begins with fertilization. From a religious view, that's where people differ regarding the "soul."

It's not something women usually want to do and it would be better if they were just given herbs like before. With abortion, they make the woman wait until she is 6 wks I believe it said. I think at least 5 wks. If the woman knew right away and then took an herb I don't think it would be that detrimental emotionally. Again, I think it has to do with money. Since both of my parents worked all day I was raised as Catholic by my grandparents to about 7 years old.

I don't believe anymore but one of the few things I remember is about baptism and how important it is for salvation.

It is considered a sacrament so is a must have for heaven but everyone seemed to have a different Idea of the secondary goals, some said that since a baby has no conciens this would be her/his only way to gain acces to either heaven or hell after they grew up.

I don't feel the souls of embryos are even there. When I had my miscarriage the only reason I knew I was pregnant was because as soon as I missed my menstruation I took a pregnancy test. About 2 wks later if that, I started to cramp and then bleed. So, this could have happened before and to others. So, many women may not even have known they were pregnant. The Doctors didn't have to do anything, no scraping or anything. I needed the rhogam injection because I am B- and a embryo rh+ would die.

I'm sorry! I really thought I answered everyone. I do believe we have souls and we leave them when we die. That's a personal opinion which I can't prove or disprove. I am torn on the subject of abortions. I know as an RN, I couldn't work in an abortion clinic. I think if these girls and women were able to use natural herbs and not have to go through the act of abortion it would be so much easier. I'm glad you enjoyed the vid. I tried to make it shorter, but I wanted to cover a lot.

I agree with you that the embryo doesn't know what is happening. I did state the scientists have proven that celldivision occurs during conception at day 1. So, yes that part is a fact. It doesn't mean that the embryo has any thought and so forth. I really don't believe the pain centers of the brain are developed. Re: your stepmom, it's possible that the baby will have a happy life. It's hard on the girl mentally and many times they don't tell anyone that they are even pregnant. They deny it.

It's a great idea, but since Obama is continuing the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and will be responsible for the killing of millions of people by the end of his term, I don't really think that this decision is some kind of monument to his supposedly saintly character. Thanks for commenting. The stimulus package worries me a lot because no one knows anything about it and I feel the American people should know what is being done with their money. What I do know is Medicare is not getting any money out of it. There is a one time payment of $250. President Bush gave $600. in 2008. Medicare doesn't cover vision and dental. I'll find out more too. So, I guess it is a luxury for elderly people to see. Welfare gives back like $600. per person and child. No kidding
