Dell needs to hire girls in bikinis spokesmodels to sell their products on youtube. These guys are characatures of the PC nerd guy on the Apple commercials.
forrestsun, Dell consumer products and Dell business products aren't even remotely the same level of quality. A two hundred dollar consumer level pre-built isn't going to be nearly as good as a several thousand dollar business level tablet.
Oh come on now, they're just techs giving the facts. Just because they're not sexy bimbos doesn't make it any less important and cool the fact that they are releasing this for free to the public. Ah well, I enjoyed it, keep up the good work.
I'm sorry, but this is a PR disaster: looks at these guys! They are awful! I'm no Apple fan, but why don't Dell copy their video guides format etc. And yes, the gestures look virtually identical to the iPhone!
So pinching just emulates CTRL+MouseWheel, and panning is the same as a tilt wheel. This is with the same old choppy non-transitions you've already come to expect. Another critique, guys, is that zooming and panning around your photos should be real-time. In other words, none of this wait-and-see where you've panned your photo to until you release your fingers from the display.
I don't get it, the say they 've been researching for a long time, and all that i see is gestures copied from the iphone!!!, the samee pinching etc, and come on, the guy on the right is afraid of being there jjaja, dell sucks!!
Excuse me but first off the iphone did not invent those pinching gestures. Just because the iphone has a lot of hype in that department doesn't mean they were the first to do it. Secondly you can't expect a company to re-invent the wheel every time they come out with something new, Its a firmware update that is available for download.
They have been researching multitouch for a long time. So has the entire industry of user-input devices! The fact that the iPhone was the first commercially viable product to reach marked does _not_ mean that others are "copying the iPhone". In fact, the iPhone copies tech. and solutions that were presented before it..
Precise multitouch on a medium-sized screen with a reasonable sized device is a lot harder to do than multitouch on a small device!
