  • BLUE EYED SOUL!!!

    love this!!

  • I never understood why they released ''goodbye girl'' instead of this, which is brilliant. Much better and far superior. They could have had another top 5 hit.

  • Killer group, killer song!!

  • nice shirt on the keyboard player WEED 84... not!

  • Peter Cox should have recorded with Michael McDonald and Quincy Jones et al...he had a GREAT soul voice at his peak...

  • @63Brummie wouldve sounded pucker

  • Absolutely the best of all the Go West lineups.

  • love it!!!!

    de veras!!!

    ^^

  • Great vocalist.. love this song.. takes me back to the 80's love it.

  • Greatest time EVER!!!! Springbreak, Palm Springs, Bolsa Chica, Greek Theatre, the food, the clothes, the scents.....this music is so alive, even now, soooo many years later everthing is so vivid (and i am 23 again!!)

  • sounds black as shit!!!! lol

  • Loves the 80's ... the best era ever

  • ALAN MURPHY ALERT!!! Before Go West Alan was briefly a member of UK-based band Paparazzi. They recorded and were scheduled to go on tour but record co. problems derailed everything. Paparazzi's keyboard player Nick Eugovni has just posted an unreleased instrumental called 'Murphy's Breeze' that features Alan improvsing throughout. Its really quite a find, and shows some great early pictures of Alan. You'll find it here on YouTube as 'Murphy's Breeze.wmv' Enjoy!

  • Go West's version of "What You Won't Do For Love" is AMAZING!!!

Peter Cox's voice should be on display in a museum, lol.

  • it seems he is cool guy !

  • Saw them at Newcastle City Hall around about then....was one of the best live shows I ever saw...Peter Cox...what a voice!

  • Peter Cox could sing his ass off, very soulful. OMG!!!!@ruddgirl your right about Huey Lewis and Peter Gabriel is Peter Cox' love child LMAO!!!!!

  • I could have sworn this was dubbed, but it's simply that he's an awesome singer with perfect pitch live. Great, great performance.

  • Damn! We were swamped in talent back then. Now there is hardly anything worth calling music. Great song.

  • didnt relise this band were so famous:Oxxx

  • Does this song have an actual video? I can't find it.

  • @deanriam It was never released as a single, it is an album track.

  • @Feisty1967 You're wrong, it was a single.

  • If Peter Gabriel and Huey Lewis had a son it would be him. lol

  • He looks kinda like Peter Gabriel here.

  • This group is one of the reasons I packed my bags and moved to England!! I loved this album and the lead singer has a great voice!!

  • That was great, one of my favorites from GO WEST. I like the different hooks they put into it live.

  • buy cds people , let money flow in the record labels again and prevent jackasses from earning too much , this will allow talent back into the popular music industry ,and creativity to finally start writing music history like our previous decades, instead of creating hits nowadays so that they can be sold as ringtones .....

  • love this!

  • I've fancied Peter Cox since I was 17! Something about the eyebrows.

  • @Feisty1967 me too!!! he's lush

  • i want to marry him..............lol

  • Featuring the late great guitarist Alan Murphy, what an amazing musician and person. He later joined Level 42 and sadly passed away in 1989, RIP !!

  • @djryanking What happened To Alun?

  • @pngaia Alan Murphy died of AIDS in 1989.

  • Peter Cox and Richard Drummie are amazing live - best live band apart from Queen Ive ever seen.

  • @briteize136 The guitarist at 0:29 is Alan Murphey who later teamed up with Level42. Gary Husband joined L42 at the same time playing drums after the Gould brothers split from the band. Gary Husband had nothing to do with Go West, Their drummer in the early years was Simon Goldsmith. Alan's time with L42 was short lived when he later died from Aids :( He was a great guitarist and is sadly missed.

  • @Strawberrycream69 Thanx for the correction You are so right in every way. It was an unfortunate mix up on my behalf. I knew they we're both in L42. A nice clip can be seen when you search "Level 42 princes trust 1989" on YT. Enjoy!!!

  • from the heart . i can feel you .xxx

  • Great band! Check out our westcoast music State Cows

  • Always pitch perfect. Fan-bloody-tastic!!

  • Cox and Drummie, killer combination!!! Great song!!!

  • Man.... Wish I could go back to the laste 70s/early 80s. Miss a time when the music scene all around was filled with talent and legendary music.

  • build a time machine and i'll be the first to go atih you...i'm starved for really good music to dance to and sing along with like go west, culture club, the police...man, what a time it was!

  • @lastwolflord prearqt

  • super groupe! i wish i would be eye to eye too ^^

  • Peter Cox still makes my mouth water!! Brilliant singer too...

  • when i splash water on my mouth it looks like my mouth is watering, but it's just an illusion.

  • Still miss Go West after all this time. That voice, and the fun in the group were a very special combination. Not to forget how sexy!!!!!

  • No need to miss them JRBwithME....they're still out there doing their thing.....still recording and performing live! Oh and I agree with your comment....still VERY sexy....probably more now than back in the day! ;-)

  • Why doesn't the poster of this include "innocence" one of four tracks they played that night?

Alan Murphy's playing on that was pretty Stellar....

  • What about "Tears for Fears" another british duo that emerged about the same time??

  • The BEST SONG EVER TO COME OUT OF THE 20th CENTURY!!!

PETER COX AND RICHARD DRUMMIE ARE THE BEST DUO EVER!!

  • Not sure about this ... I think that honour goes to Hall and Oates, but Go West was damn special

  • Hall and Oates were good but they were no Peter n Richard

  • This is ART not WEIGHT LIFTING!

    They were both EXCELLENT!

  • what ya talking about son!! Hall and Oates are legends. To give you a clue, John Oates wrote this song.

  • @musiclover3928 John Oates did not right this song.GO WEST wrote all the material on their first album.

  • @smithyal Yeah, The Beatles were shit. Zeppelin? Wouldn't wipe my arse on their song sheets.

Not to mock too much chief, I'm a Go West fan myself, but let's keep a sense of perspective eh?

  • @smithyal OF COURSE HALL AND OATES ARE!

  • @smithyal spot on mate!!! very talented group underated!! cheers simon

  • Best dance band ever

  • Alan Murphy played with another one of my favorite bands...level 42...

    this song is way before it's time...music, lyrics...vocal talents.....wow

  • best band ever!

  • I remember dancing to this, sooo funny, i love this track! they have so many good ones

  • Richard Drummie looks like Richard Hamster Hammond from Top Gear!!

  • Comment removed

  • He's actually Jean-Claude Van Damme in disguise.

  • I was very fortunate to see them live in Japan, back in '84. I remember they introduced Call Me as their new single! They were great then.

Looking forward to see live in February next year!

  • what a awesome band what happened to tony beard

  • Great band, love all their records, 'S.O.S' is another great song as is 'Innocence' but Eye to Eye is my all time fave by them. And a real soulful delivery too

  • don't forget Missing Persons

  • Alan Murphy,Graham Edwards,Tony Beard,Peter Vitesse,Carol Kenyon,Slyvia James.....what a band. :0)

  • Go West was a great band. They were excellent

in the 80s with great dance tunes. They were ahead of their time with clean tracks and wonderful arrangements. I wonder what ever happened to them ?? And if they are still performing ??

  • Jadesystem,

They are still around today and released a new album in June 2008 called 'futurenow'. Still writing songs together and touring, having been to Australia this year and with a 'By Request' Tour of the UK coming up in February 2009. Also...as an aside....they are both lovely guys!

grubsmum (Trish - who helps run their website!)

  • It's obvious I'm joking, but he could be his long lost son.LOL!

  • The drummer is Tony Beard...great drummer...saw him loads in the 80's

  • Shame it's out of sync.

This was some killer line-up, with Alan Murphy and Peter John Vitesse. That drummer's got an awesome groove. Love how Go West always played their 12" versions live.

  • bands now cant write one original or catchy tune go wests albums were full of them. level 42, roachford, wang chung, simply red, deacon blue, pet shop boys, duran duran, robert palmer, level 42, simple minds were all good in the 80s..what the hell has happened to british bands!

  • So true! Every single group you mentioned!

  • A great song by Go West and the lead vocalist has a soulful voice.

  • Pete's vocals have improved loads with age! as have his looks!!!

  • Peter's a pretty good looking guy : ) Great song though

  • His father is the actor Brian Cox. He played the original Hannibal Lector in Man Hunter. He was also in the Ring.

  • I love Peter's voice. So powerful and unique.

  • level 42 is the shit, Fashion Fever great bass line. Go West first album every song should have been a hit

  • you got taste in music brotha~

eye to eye is classic music~

    too smooth~

    bassthumper

  • blue eyed soul..love this stufff...level 42....etc

  • Go west one of the most under rated groups since the mid 1980's

  • I just bought a mp3 player a few weeks ago and I recently downloaded all of this groups greatest hits on my mp3 player its pretty cool that I could listen to this great music anytime now.

  • A great group.

  • love the album version of this song and I love all the songs on their self titled debut album! Long live go west!

  • Some of the greatest white singers who never got their credit.

  • Superb video. Notice singer Peter Cox and his 1980s funkfest dancing! Just classic!
