Emachines are not bad at all i also own an emachines, its the w3107 model , all i really did is add more ram and erase windows xp and install ubuntu 9.10, it runs great now and no virus

I got the W3507 model and My emachines has been a very reliable one, I upgraded my Display adapter with a Ati Radeon Hd 2600 pro 256mg ddr3 memory. and added 2x 1gigs of consair ram instead of going with 512mgs lol. Then i got the Creative audiology soundblaster 24bit 96hz. and finally got some led fans to light my pc up.

But the only difference is that i got a DvD R/rw from Lite-on.

Emachines are pretty good computers. Im still using one till this day after 8 years without any problems "Knock on wood". I only had to change the power supply but thats about it. (-_-)

I'm currently making an W3502 into a gaming machine. so far in installed an MSI ATI HD2600TX GDDR3 512MB DX10 Card, 600W PSU. soon i will install 2GB of ram, and upgrade the CPU to a Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 FBS 800Mhz. the only thing that will be emachines is the motherboard.
