This cave they are calling the devil's den looks more like the ice box cave in the same park. the devil's den cave is way different. How could they get this so mixed up? I'll have to ask one of my ranger friends. He's worked at the park for ages so he'd know why they mixed this up so bad.
Actually donot...what she means by keeping that part of the park remote, is that the hiking trails that are engineered by the parks dept. don't extend to this part of the forest. If the trails don't go to the caves, people in general won't realize they even exist, and will not be disturbing the bats. The signs come in if someone happens upon the caves because they weren't following the trail system.
this hillbilly's wrong about the devil's den cave.. after the tight hallway, after the first pile of debris you have to crawl through, after the wider space there's a wall of debris you have to climb. there's a hole in the roof.. go through that, and be ready to support yourself by your arms. then you crawl through water and mud, you might even have to submerge yourself for a second. you will then exit in a crevasse between that and the icebox.
4:19 is hilarious. endangered species of bats, and she has to explain that because of these bats, that's why the parks dept keeps the area in the remote location of the park........like they can relocate the caves? are you kidding? and this person works for the federal govt? really?
