i already spent 2k on my ka24det, new turbo t25/28, fmic rebuilt head arp studs waiting on my cometic head gasket enthalpy ecu, walbro, powdercoated head cover changed 370cc injectors twice, new fpr...man i could of had a sr20 runing by now...this ka better fukin be worth it..

I like KA's have two so i can build two haha its nice to find a friend who doesn't want a ka that runs with about 170000 miles and now has a sr thats got blown turbo seals winning. And theKA in my garge getting torn down to start piecing together a pretty built bottom end.

As far as drifting is concerned, I believe that the SR is more suitable because of its powerband and because of the larger aftermarket available. It has a higher redline and it tends to have more high end, where as the KA has more mid.

Not only do you have to turbo the ka24.. but it needs to be tuned. No matter what you do to it.. it redlines at just over 6k rpm. SR20 is a race built and proven engine in japan. KA24? Honestly do you ever hear of people swapping in ka24s? Why does everyone have to be biased because of what they own. An sr20 is reliable,cheap to mod, and has loads of potential. Just slapping a turbo on a ka24 will maybe make the same hp numbers.. but it cant hold boost for shit. Get over it.

@mmdaniels33 The KA has loads of potential as well. With tune, forged internals, t3/t4 setup it's a beast to be reckoned with. On stock internals and the right tune a well maintained KA can be pushed to about 12 psi.

@scramblerluver double clutching is useless in cars of today since we have synchronous transmissions. Anyone who does it is just making their shift slower because vin diesel told them to.

@WarlordTD oh yeah and to keep the haters down, double clutch:clutch kick, milking, clutch tap, double clutching, ect; letting the engine rev up by pushing the clutch in and then dropping it at the desired RPM. AKA 60 at 2800 rpm, kick it let it rev up to 5000 and then drop the clutch and keep it pinned...... use your brains people. fill in the missing info.

Thats what i do. like say i shifted to second at a low rpm and then the guy next to me all of a sudden steps on the gas, i will just tap the clutch and my car will increase its acceleration pretty fast. **By tapping the clutch i mean i just tap it like .0001 of a second.** Dont push it in all the way, just tap it whatever gear u want to.

@mmdaniels33 thats y i also have a turbo ka, soon as i break it in ill do another 0 to 100mph on it. and just for the record Ka has more torque than sr when u turbo it.you can double clutch when ever u want...and i was giving him a better version of double cluthing(kick in the clutch it when ever u need to.)

KA motor = $0(i alrdy have it) sr20 = about $2,000. Then building up the motor should cost about same price for both. So no matter what, i waste 2000 more on the SR and then it still loses to KA... ill stick with the ka thanks. Plus, i have owned both so i know. o and stop yelling.

@mmdaniels33 haha the ka24de is way better than an sr...i've done my research and i wanted to put an sr in my 240 when i get one but i've talked to professionals that build cars for a living and they say the ka is better b/c of the torque plus it's actually street legal in the US and on top of that the sr's have horrible air flow and breathability so building the ka is way smarter

I have had the luck of driving both the SR20det and a KA24det and can tell you that they have very different characteristics. The KA can be built to be perfectly reliable with time and money as can the SR.

Most we got was a Kouki (aggressive headlights) 97-98 S14.

I have a 240sx and my buddy does a really good Ka24de ecu tune for $50 and your old ecu, he just exchanges you a ecu thats tuned. very soon he will finish his e85 tune which is beast. right now he only has it for a ka24e but you need to mess with your timing to avoid premature detonation

best bolt on is the pulley, and an ecu upgrade, its the perfect combo :) o and make sure u change ur cat. conv. every once in a while(maybe every 3 or 4 yrs) makes a big diff.

sorry about the stock phrase, i meant i havent done anything to engine, just lil things here and there. By upgraded ecu i mean i got my ECU tuned(it has faster throttle response, no speed limit, and my car pulls way harder than a normal 240sx). I think the fastest ive gone up to was 140mph :)
