For once I think he wasn't high: I never saw him open his eyes before! Not that I care, he just looked different is all. And how cool is that violin?!
Plus, Street Life happens to be in my top faves....Amazing!
John McCartney, Paul Harrison, George Starr & Ringo Lennon were the way the Beatles were meant to be, oh yeah, yeah, yeah!!! Devalue me tricksters & trematodes! I shall travel by elephant throughout rural India and participate in Jharkhand's 3-day festival which entails allowing cobras to bite participants repeatedly to honor Goddess Mansa Devi, oh yeah, yeah, yeah!!! Maketh not the tragedy mine to bed yogurts and eat ogres...
This is a tune I still find excellent. It is haunting and it is an excellent performance visually as well. As Roxy music got more into the sentimental stuff i lost interest. NOW I love that too (finally mature enough to admit it) and I love their STYLE. I love the Supremes as well. Viva Glamour! Dance away is also great.
If you all like this resyced version of Street Life, check out my other uploads of Roxy Music clips. I did this particular clip because there was nothing out there with the original single audio....like TOTP for instance where bands used to mime to the song, well, that's how it was in those days.
@ralucagymnast The keyboard and violin player on this track is actually the wizard Eddie Jobson- Eno left earlier during the same year this was released, although he claims that this was his favourite Roxy album!
This track is visually and musically impressive. Bowled over completely by that insidious sound.
And ferrys antics. I bet he was stoned! They way they worked together...and that violin and synth player looked like a woman..and .he he got stuck into his instruments. I love the sax!!! Usually I don't. This was a magic synthesis. I believe so. But most of all, that nagging sound. Fantastic.
isnt that eddie jobson on violin???

Always love the Roxy stuff. Bryan Ferry is easily as odd as early Bowie.
One of a kind vocals. Copycats can't touch him!

Thanks for posting this vid. Great to see Ferry in his "Another Time, Another Place" incarnation again. :-)
So glad I was born in time to be around when Roxy hit the scene. Just a pity I was too young to go to their gigs. (Drat, Drat, and Double Drat!!!)
