This episode is stupid everyone know that Derek loves Meredith even Addison knows it, she's so selfish if she really lives him she wouldn't have cheated on him in the first place and she would've left him go .. And besides it was stupid of Derek to pick Addison he was fooling anybody and he knew that she cheated on him , what did Meredith ever do to him ... I love him I do but in this episode I just want to smash him against something to set him straight and make him see clearly ... Besides Me

Frankly, if he did pick Meredith, he would have hurted Addie. and i dnt thnk he wnted to do that as even though he loves mer he love Addison as well because he has loved her longer. 12 years in fact.
Because he loves Mer, but felt obligated to go back to his wife to try to honour his commitment and make it work. He cries because he is gutted about Mer and knows that he has broken her heart.
But he took the fact that she wasnt there as a sign that he should choose addie.
But he later finds out in the first episode of the 3rd season [when he announces it, he probably thought it earlier] that he made the wrong choice. &that he's been in love with her from the start.
You can't hate Mcdreamy! I loved the fact that he just couldn't stop loving Mer and we got to see how powerful their feelings really were. Those moments in the lift were so sweet and heartbreaking! I agree though, he should have picked Meredith!
i hate this! i hate him picking addison even though they will be together next season it is just so annoying cause he is hurting her so much right now
