  • Amazing fucking performance! Although I never met him or knew him, I think I can safely say that Stuart Adamson was one of the coolest and nicest human beings ever to walk the earth. Not to mention one of the best singer/songwriters and possibly the most underrated guitarists ever. I'm still gutted that he's gone and I always will be.

  • Why are there not more bands like this. Greatest band ever!

  • Some damn good guitar playing on this song.

  • If you like Big Country .. tune into Planet Rock when Nicky Horne is doing his stuff....he can be relied upon to play some Big C most nights, and always some touching words from Mr H. God bless his wooly jumper. Long live Planet Rock .. Long Live Big Country and long live Mr Horn. P.S He also conducted a fabulous interview with EVH ... made me cry. Rock never dies.

  • as much as Harvest cahnged my world in 1985, I have to say 'Steeltown' was more soul wrenching.

  • Great great version of this song. Yeah, I knew there was a reason I named my rooftop garden HARVEST HOME!!! Awesome post!! Many Thanks!!

  • Easily one of the best bands from 80s. Nothing cheesy about them.

  • Damn that dude was good.

  • Best band out of the eighties. Forget about U2 or lesserstars. Such energy, quality and great guitar melodies

  • WALL-OF-SOUND!

Nobody rocks harder than BC or with the same degree of talent. Listen to the lyrics!

    AWESOME!

  • Harvest Home....! CLASSIC..EPIC !Peace Ye`all !!

  • My God this version kicks ass. I've had the video for years, getting a little worn out now. Ian Grant, the manager, can't trace the original source tape to get it released on DVD. Well done Cavalier.

  • @theporrohman

I have the tape also but no player 8(

also had the barrowlands concert at least thats on DVD now both powerful concerts

  • I have been trying to get 'Steeltown' for five years - no joy. Why?

  • Very cool band..great song!!

  • SAW THEM LIVE IN 1987!

absolutly amazing, there where very BIG Country!

    Love them for ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    R I P

  • There can never be too many Big Country videos on youtube.

  • Few bands today can play like they did, WITHOUT a backing track

  • @pattycat100567

    You're right. I can't think of any?

Wished I had seen them back in the 80's! What energy and enthusiasm for their music and their fans! Off the charts.

  • This is my absolutely favorite BC tune!

How do they get that sound.....is it the tuning or what?

  • So super talented they were.

There wasn't a weak link to be found.

I love Butler's melodic bass crawls on this track.

The power of Entwistle & the soulful feel of James Jamerson.

It's always a win/win when you take talent like this & each member has distinct influences because it creates something entirely new.

This will be a band that will be re-discovered over & over for eternity because they pushed music forward.

  • I SO AGREE WITH YOUR WISE WORDS! serious musicians with real talent and energy, ive got the best of album, every one a foot tapper, with riffs to die for... and so on the money live.

  • @bugnor67 While I know the economy is tight right now, " the best of " always leaves off fan favorites, if you can, get " The Crossing", "The Seer" and "Steeltown".

  • @pattycat100567 Thanks ,I have those ,but not the re -releases with the bonus tracks.I am cosidering rebuying those to get the songs I don't have. I am still trying to get Restlesss Natives for less than $75 :]

  • @bugnor67 e-bow

  • Great live version this one - bloody classic song

  • Top tune, top band. R.I.P Stuart

  • what a BOMB!

    thanks cavalier!!! very massive!!!!

  • Maybe I am wrong, but I doubt that if this band had had a Brian Epstein, or a Paul McGuinness that there would have been the slide that they eventually encountered.

  • They needed to keep Steve Lillywhite IMHO.

  • I was at the concert at The Pier with a major, major babe. It was such an awesome concert! They seemed unstoppable as artists and performers.

There was no deficit of talent in this band, but I feel that they did not have the best management. Sometimes being a good manager means having to say "no" to things that were too risky, too alienating, or otherwise counterproductive.

  • Still a great performance from a great band ty uploader.

  • I agree Mark is an amazing drummer.

  • Thanks for posting this, I love me some 86 and previous BC!!!

  • What a fucking shame, one of the greatst most underrated bands of all time.

  • @zerntz U2 is what stood in their way, if not for them Big Country would be the greatest Gen X New Wave band...I STILL love them.

  • one of the best live versions oh Harvest Home I've see. The energy level is off the charts !! The Band was really tight on this one !! I want to geet my hands on this CD, is it available ??

  • This concert was on a VHS tape which i converted to DVD format. The tape was released as "The Seer Tour Live" over here in the UK.

  • Theres a CD called Big Country Live Hits which is one of those cheaper compilations you get in the likes of Asda, which has a version which although I'm not sure if its this very version, is pretty much identical, but the sound is much beefier, and it sounds fantastic, so pick that up if you can!
