When you really ride, and don't want to die, you must have a break.
I have a front break, and almost never use it, but he saved my life 2 or 3 times, when there is some cold water on the road, and some dumbass on a car don't stop ...
I have an awesome fixie, but it's nowhere near as beautiful, nor is it near as new as yours. Mine is a Trek 660 with Reynolds 531 butted tubes. Maybe, MAYBE 10 pounds, but probably lighter. I need to get it on a scale.
Yeah, I just got done chopping off the velo bars into bullhorns and went with a Surley 16-tooth cog. I love my bike. It's also pretty easy to keep tuned, the ol' Trek frames. Good old school butted frames last forever.
