In response to craxyguy123073, you only have to pree heat the oil in your tank in really cold weather to get it to flow. As long as its flowing into your heater it will burn it.
I'm not really sure what you mean by effective heating volume. I guess it would depend on how big your heater was. I dont have plans, I borrowed ideas from spike's heater to build mine.
I also use one of similar style to heat my pool. works great and best of all, its free, and of course good for the enviroment.
I use a magnetic oil pan heater when its to cold. You may have to adjust your oil flow as it warms up. Be careful when the oil thins as it could flood your pan.
I noticed a valve in your flue several feet above your firebox. Do you use this much? I'm just wondering if I should include one in the heater I'm building.
You seem to have everything working well, what are your flue emissions like?
Also it looks like you have too much oil flowing into the pan, it should burn almost as soon as it hits the pan, and your poker should only show about 3mm (1/8") of oil on it. This can lead to an overflow of your pan which is very smelly, dirty and dangerous.
I will have to check for you the amount of holes, and size, but this configeration seems to be working fine, and doesn't get hot enought to glow red unless I have too much. I heat my 16 x 24' garage very easly, for free!!
I like what appears to be the no smoking sign down on the floor beside the stove. :) , you're a true recycler neat job !

Can you please tell me, what is the effective heating volume of this WVO?
May be you have some plans for people who are interested in it?

i understand you have to heat the oil to start but why not make the burner itself heat it up once you started it. also like heat stove

I tried using veggie oil today but it was so cold it would not flow. How do you keep your oil flowing when it is very cold? Thanks!

I do not use this valve, it was in the flue for my previous wood burning stove.
hope to see yours in action soon.

Nice heater. I have a couple of questions for you.
Exactly how many holes and what sizes did you put in that secondary burner? And have you ever had this thing glow red hot?
