A toggle Switch lets him switch between which pickup is active. The technique is to have a volume knob for your two pickups, have one on 0 and one on 10, and then flick between them with the toggle while sliding your hand on the strings to emulate a Disc Jockey scratch sound, among other intrinsically fun techniques.

@Frank3c0m his guitar is custom made with one pick up and a toggle switch, but he originally done it on a guitar with 2 pickups and 4 knobs, turned one of the pickups all the way down and used the toggle in a picking style. If that makes sense...
