I really liked your presentation, putting the names of the musicians up there during their solos. A great photo of Adrian Rollini and his bass sax, "Buster." Chauncey Morehouse on drums. Love this tune.
On the original record of bix version I hear Gminor, after a F7 a Bb7 and after? Someone know the detail harmony? thanks, or better a sheet music to study the harmony, i have sheet music of bix piano pieces to share, candlelight, in a myst, in the dark, Flashes...
I didn't know Rollini named his bass. My father Joe Rushton, always in awe of Rollini, did in fact name both his saxes. One "Buster" and the other "Beatrice".
@zabbadadooey - I sent you a personal message on this subject as my explanation required more that the 400+ characters they alot for use in this space.
Alcohol certainly destroyed this genius of the cornet. At such a young age too. So sad, but thanks to poster's on YouTube, we can enjoy his impressive contribution to Jazz.
(I think my grandpa is making me play this right now).....as he is being buried as I speak---RIP~may you and grandma dance for eternity!
