Please people. Stop complaining about the hand on the rim of the glass. You contract more gems from the steering wheel of you own car than you will ever contract from this person who washes his hands 40 to 50 times in a shift.
what's the trigger mechanism to get the beer pouring automatically? Obviously the cup going onto the tap but what specifically lets the tap know it's completely in place and to start pouring?
It's not osmosis. Just keep learning that Jesus made your cells instead of learning biology in your schools... If it was osmosis there should be loads of salt or any other solid in the glass so the water could go throught it.
There is a magnet on the bottom of the cup, allowing for the beer to go into the cup and magnet replaced from bottom. Yes, you can push it up yourself but it is difficult, and purely STUPID to try, unless you'd like to buy another beer. It does provide a perfect pour every time, reducing waste, and keeping beer costs lower.
@briwins - cool use of magnets, I guess then! Are these cups disposable? I would guess you want to hold on to them as long as possible. Honestly, it is genius, really.
what happens if I accidentally push the thing up while beer is in it? 1) I spill the beer 2) the beer companies get richer as I then have to buy more BEER! This is a f'ing conspiracy by the beer makers to get me to buy more BEER! Those bastards.
the bottom of the cups press up to leave a crack between the small lip on the bottom and the bottom piece. beer flows up. lifting cup makes the weight of the beer push the bottom back down.

Not very appetizing to see employee putting their hands all over rims of glasses.

See the 51 in the cup? It's pushed up. It's pulled back down when the cup is lifted.

Oh wait it has a little disc at the bottom which gets lifted up and then it fills the cup and then the disc goes and covers the hole again! :)
