Bud I never knew you, but I keep your memory alive every time I sing. Thank you for all the lives you touched while on this earth. Rest In Peace dear brother in song.
ARLENE: It is a problem because If yours are very clever sometimes you don't know it in the begining
Funny but true example of how things were even near the 60s! Arlene is of course referring to women trying to disguise their baby bump for as long as possible.
It's funny she says this because in a film with Doris Day co-starring Arlene, Miss Francis has a line, "I'm proud of my condition", so baby bump pride was coming around the corner.. but still calling it a 'condition' lol!
1959, incidentally, proved to be the last year the producers did gambits on the Sunday Night program. Game shows producers got paranoid in light of the quiz show scandals Congressional investigations.
The producers should have had more faith in their product -- Dorothy, Bennett, Eammon, in his unscripted second go round, and Arlene "what sport!" show here how funny the show could be spontaneously.
Eammon Andrews, BBC reporter and host of UK WML, demonstrates the "gambit.. " WML producers suggested humorously off-the-track questions designed to generate laughs. The producers gambited in only one game per episode and with bright guest panelists who personalities inclined them to laughs rather than solutions. They ALWAYS went first. That how we tell a gambit today.
Compare this to Steve Allen's 1954 gambit on the same subject in YouTube Maternity clothes salesman MattTheSaiyan

Mr. Knight co-authored a witty book called "The Store" in 1974, concerning the eccentricities of shopping in a luxury store. Very funny indeed!
