im thinking about buying an i-12... how do you like this gun and how does it compare with the stoeger 2000?

Dont ever buy a Stoeger 2000. Poor quality and break.

@KingHonker I realize the fit and finish is a little better with the Franchi but arent they both made in Turkey?

The stoeger is assembled in Turkey, the Franchi In Italy. Franchi test fire every one of their I12's before they ship them out.
I have experienced first hand the S2000 defects, pins breaking, charglever breaking in the bolt, and saftey malfunctions.
The I12 and the S2000 have alot of the same parts. I think its just a quality control issue between them.
But then again the Franchi has a heavier price tag
