  • can someone please tell me who he relates gordy to, around 0:18 please?

  • They are so natural ! Great actors

  • Of course.

  • One of the best monologues in the show.

  • this scene is so intense

  • It sounds like he has a Baltimore accent. Is that right? Anyone know?

  • This show is filled with excellent actors.

  • This is the scene that MADE Mike.

  • Cool Story Bro!

  • When he says he used to be a cop "long time ago" I imagined him as he looked in Beverly Hills Cop, lol.

  • Tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of Raymond K. Hessel's life. His breakfast will taste better than any meal you and I have ever tasted.

  • @Jack2009cool This isn't Fight Club. This is Breaking Bad. Leave.

  • @jmcgrail821 Look at this guy getting all mad.

  • SO heavy

  • Comment removed

  • We've all seen this actor in a dozen different films, always playing the heavy, but his turn in BB playing Mike is solid gold. THEY MUST HAVE HIM IN SEASON FIVE!!!

  • Mike still has no idea about what happened...I bet Skyler is going to be the new Gus..agreed?

  • Great scene

  • how does one learn that long ass scene?!?!?!

  • @DonSaether You don't learn it word for word. You learn the story, study the dialogue, and tell it like it's something you really experienced.

  • @DonSaether I imagine a lot of actors have done Shakespeare and the like during their training.

  • Like if Breaking Bad sent you here!

  • @jmcgrail821 obviously breaking bad sent us here you dumb cunt.

  • @spermdoggs Hehehehehe you dummy.

  • The fact that Jonathan Banks wasn't even *nominated* for an Emmy speaks volumes for their credibility. Granted, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul both *won* that year...but still. Mike is one of the best characters on television.

  • 3:50

" ...No more half measures Walter..."

    And that next night.....

  • "But two weeks later he killed her. Of course,"

The way Mike says this is just... well... it's just perfect. Horrific. Perfect. Of course.

  • amazing scene!!

  • and it just rubbed me wrong DANGEROUS WORDS

  • blame truth didnt send me. this bad ass series sent me. best tv show ever

  • @MrDemonfrank Trololololol

  • @MrDemonfrank :-(

  • @MrDemonfrank trolling huh

  • MAKE IT SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best show on TV!!!

  • Blame Truth

  • Mike is one of my favorite characters from breaking bad, love this show and its dialogue!

  • " Screaming, as much as you can with a gun in your Mouth. Then i told him to be quiet. I needed to think about what i was going to do here. "

Mike is such a fucking calculative and smart Wet Worker.

  • Blame truth

  • BLAME TRUTH!

  • DRUNK TANK!

  • BT!

  • Blame Truth!

  • i dont remeber this scene.. can someone remind me what this episode was about

  • @lmaginations S03E12 "half measures"

  • @lmaginations Jessie is going try and kill the drug dealers who sent a kid to kill combo, but walt snitches and the dealers kill the kid and then walt kills the deals who are also working for the same guy as walt

  • great monologue

  • @Rikuwalrus same here lol

  • @Rikuwalrus my dick sent me

  • wtf is a half measure?

  • @just1Commentator Haha you must be very young... or you're not paying attention to the video..

  • @just1Commentator half assing something

  • 2 people don't go all the way.

  • best bb scene ever

  • One dude you never want to piss off.

  • that guy is an incredible actor

  • @Bjouesbijou When I re-watched his introductory scene (when he cleans up Jesse's girlfriend), I was like "He's not as good of an actor as I'm used to" And then I watch this...

  • I HATE Mike! such a dick to Walt this past season.

  • @myfacesp Yeah, he's a two faced dick. Trying to turn Walt against Jesse, and then trying to turn Jesse against Walt. Good actor & character though.

  • @Secundas Oh, absolutely!

  • @Secundas well yeah, i mean he is fascinating. just hate him in season 4. i mean still a great character, but i hate him

  • @myfacesp i know, i hate him too :)

  • @Secundas You totally missed the point. The guy has a soft core, and a code by which he lives. And he's also warning Walt that he won't be so lucky as to get a warning.

  • @smellyskater23 In the course of the series, Mike tried to turn them against each other, and I think he's a dick. What point did I miss? I said nothing about the point of this scene, though his self-righteous dialogue here doesn't change my opinion of him. The fact that a mercenary who kills on command for a soulless drug lord like Gus deludes himself that he has a heart of gold only makes him more despicable.

  • @Secundas I don't think he deludes himself at all. In fact, he deludes himself a lot less than Walt, or even Gus (whose only thoughts are basically just about self-preservation and vengeance). The whole point here is that Mike is a nihilist. In Mike's eyes, the world is a shithole. He can respect talent (like that of Walt and Gus) or loyalty (like that of Victor and Jesse), and probably loves his daughter/granddaughter, but I don't think he has any delusion of possessing a "heart of gold".

  • @Schredkern I don't think he's a nihilist. smellyskater23 summed up Mike's view of himself pretty well: he likes to think he's soft core and lives by a moral code. But the truth is, he's just a thug who enjoys using violence and the threat of violence to dominate others. The story he tells is just an empty justification to do both. He's not as naive as Walt (who thinks he's "won"), but morally he's just as twisted. He may turn out to be the better man in the end, though. We will see

  • @Secundas Oh trust me, I agree that morally Mike is no better than Walt, Gus, or any of the other monsters on this show. But I'm confused as to why you think he sees himself as a "soft" or "moral" person. Is there a scene I'm not remembering where he attempts to justify his actions in those kind of terms? (except for this one, which seems like more of an origin story of his apathy and willingness to kill, if anything, to me)

  • @Schredkern Mainly this scene, since it's Mike most revealing. Like Walt, he started down the bad path "trying to do the right thing", perhaps not realizing how far from it he is now. Also generally in the way he carries himself. He's not a veneer-faced cold fish like Gus or Tyrus. He also tends to counsel people about what they should or shouldn't do as if genuinely concerned for their best interests. The scene with the granddaughter also showed his humanity.

  • @Schredkern ...but there's a disconnect between that humanity and what he does for a living. I don't think a person can have it both ways without their sense of self becoming twisted. Here, he's asserting his dominance over Walt with the implication he wont hesitate to kill when necessary, but acts like he's doing him a "professional courtesy", even though their profession is, at its core, unethical and ugly. Like Walt, he's deluded. That's how I see him, at least.

  • @Secundas You make some really good points, and I'm rethinking many of the "Mike gives advice" scenes with them in mind. Especially the scene where he says he sees "loyalty" in Jesse. What good is loyalty if it's to a monster like Gus?

  • @Schredkern That's an interesting question, since Jesse's loyalty is exploited by Gus, and then betrayed by Walt with the poisoning. It makes me wonder about Mike's own loyalties. After Jesse had Mike's back in Mexico, I'm curious to see if he'll return the favor when all hell breaks loose next season. Maybe he'll redeem himself by saving Jesse somehow.

  • I always loved this speech. Told so much about this character in such a small amount of time

  • hes one of those actors that produce an immediate effect. audience just like him right away cus hes a veteran. unlike aaron paul type of actor, you grow to like his character

    just my opinion

  • Mike will work for Walt, the new Drug Lord of the southwest.

  • 2 people are sideways @ssholes

  • And Walt went full measure and we know how it ended...

  • Nice product placement for the Waring blender! Can't buy that kind of publicity.

  • Wonder if Mike is going to be a big deal in the final season. Hope so.

  • Mike looks like a George Carlin turned bad ass!

  • I guess I contributed to the view count by at least 1000 views

  • Some of the best acting i've ever seen

  • This is the scene that truly makes a breaking bad MIKE fan. You like him before but this monologue is epic. I thought he deserved an emmy for this one. Hope he's huge next season.

  • im so glad mike became a reoccurring character. i like him the best of all.

  • definitely one of the best speeches of the series, hands down. mike will play a major role in season 5 most likely or else i'll be dissapointed :(

  • Comment removed

  • When I first watched this, my jaw was on the floor about halfway through his speech.

  • It is so cool when he says 'its just me'

  • FAVOURITE MONOLOGUE

  • Yeah he's a dangerous mofo and all that but let's have it out there now once and for all.

The shape of his head is fucking wierd.

  • @kkurrukk Not at weird as Saul's black employee lol.

  • @TheElderJunkie How weird is your head, Huell?

    "Reasonably"

  • @freakingusername Haha Huell is an odd motherfucker. But he is hilarious.

  • @kkurrukk he's dangerous but also remember he still has to live with not taking care of that guy when he should of i have a feeling that he might be the one who kills gus in 4x13 to save jesse and walt.

  • It's been a while since I saw this episode. Why was Mike telling Walt the story?

  • Mike <3

  • can't believe this is the same guy who was the villain in Flipper

  • this was the best episode of breaking bad. and the best episode in television history...

  • Mike reminds me of The Wolf in Pulp Fiction.

  • mike is the most badass mother fucker ever.

  • The "dialogues" each character has in this show is the reason I love it so much. The director doesn't resort to flashback scenes showing what the actors are describing to us, we just listen to their words and imagine the story as it's being told.

  • mike is actually future jesse pinkman.

  • even Chuck Norris goes to Mike as his "go to guy".

  • WOW!

  • Is there any particular reason that "Danny boy" makes Mike mad?

  • @Nuke187 its not the song, its how care free the guy was being after beating the shit out of a woman

  • @toThe9thPower I guess you're right, thanks.

  • Mike reminds me alot of Niko Bellic from GTA Liberty city

  • you know this was put in for a reason and i dont think it was for the end of the current season i think A. were gonna see walt kill mike to save hank B. mike kill gus to save jesse who seems to be forming a father son relation ship C.walt killing jesse( i do see this as a longshot due to the likely storyline of walt telling jesse he was the reason for janes death.

  • Now that we got a glimpse of gus' past, I wanna see mike's.

  • this is plain and simple damn good casting and writing.

  • Mike is the last person on the planet I would wanna fuck with

  • @LDeezy223 i fucking agree

  • hopefully more breaking bad scenes (only the greatest) on my channel this week. stay in touch.

  • @mrOTHERpl there was an episode on season 3 i think or maybe 2 where the first 2 minutes were the whore 24 hours activities fast forward

can u upload that if you know what i'm talking about

    cause its really cool

  • @TheBarbahabam, well, on season 4 there was a similar scene that im gonna upload soon ;)

  • @mrOTHERpl go for it

  • @TheBarbahaba it was in season 3. last episode. where jessie is going to kill those 2 guys who killed jessies friend ...

  • @bana707 just checked you were close

it was the one before the last one

but yes that was the chapter jessie was using her to poison them

at least that was the plan

    really cool first 3 minutes

  • @TheBarbahaba her name is wendy!

  • @mrOTHERpl do u think this scene is a hint mike will redeem hiself from his concience for not killing this guy by possibly killing gus to save jesse

  • Mike is a grate char in breaking bad. I love his professionalism, the way he handles things, the "hes the guy" thing.

ima thumb this vid up. For Mike - the caretaker

  • Jesse was always my favourite character on the show. Mike took his place for a few episodes, but at the end of this one Jesse earned his place again. Jesse is the fucking man.

  • I hope Mike never gets off'ed. He's the "What's this guy supposed to be, the ultimate badass?" badass.

  • Mike would have made the ultimate Colonel Kurtz...better than Brando.

  • Mike is an awesome character. He's the epitome of impersonal. Can never figure out what he's thinking.

  • "This is it. This is how it ends." Fucking deadly!!

  • EPIC SPEECH!!!

    .

Thank you ever so much for uploading this goosepumping tale!

  • I made a post rock song with this monologue. Check it out, especially if you like GY!BE or Sleep.

    Thanks!

  • There's two types of gangsters running things in America...the ones in the streets and the ones in our government and Mike

  • Mike is my favorite character on the show. :)

  • AMAZING

  • I feel like Jesse's going to get poured a Half Measure by Mike.

  • A truly riveting, chilling, darkly funny, and gruesome tale that only Breaking Bad could come up with. Thank you for uploading this!

  • Jonathan Banks is FINALLY getting the recognition he deserves after 40+ years in the business. He's nothing short of solid in everything he does, and having a prime role on the best show on TV is sweet, sweet justice.

The speech could be more effective with some trimming, but it's definitely one of the best scenes in the series, and I think it'll be remembered by TV fans for years to come.

  • This speech is really powerful and proves that perhaps Mike is the most wise in the bloody business of drugs and death.

Great scene and more proof of the greatness of Breaking Bad

  • "Half Measures" to "Full Measure" to "Box Cutter" is some of the most intense, tension filled, beautifully acted, superbly written pieces of television anyone will ever see.

It was only made even more intense by the 13 month wait between "Full Measure" and "Box Cutter".

    Worth it though.

    Best show on TV.

  • not my favorite scene but def top 5.......RUN!

  • fuck half measures mike should have clipped the dickhead i would have

  • @slapjax28 well, you would also need the cleaning skills of Mike, so you don't end up in prison and being sodomized by a 300 Lbs. sub-human gorilla....

  • Mike's awesome. He's iffy when it comes to who he's going to help. Walt or Gus.

  • Possibly the best scene in the entire series thus far. Definitely setting the stage for what's to come while reflecting on what's happened. Such good writing/performance.

  • Fuck Joker's scars, I wanna hear more of this guy's stories...

  • 3:45 - 3:57

Why does Mike scare the shit out of me during that part.

  • This show is the best. Jonathan Banks should get an Emmy. One of my favorite scenes.

  • Mike is one of my favorite characters.

  • My favorite scene of the entire series. Mostly because of the terrific delivery by Jonathan Banks but also because of the impact it has on Walt later in the episode.

  • gosh everyone in this show is so fuckin epic it kills me

  • Thank you for uploading this.... this is a great scene and a great speech .

  • Comment removed

  • this speech is so good its worth memorizing it

  • When i first saw this episode, This speech Mike gave , gave me Chills. He's one sane yet dangerous mothefucker.

No gang banger can compare to Mikes skill. Something modern gangs will never have anymore. Organization and skill and proper marksmanship, go RIGHT out the window.

  • @blizzy00 You live in a silly deluded world (that I wish I lived in) if you truly believe what you typed. If you think about it how else can these scattered gangs exist without "skill" and "organization". These gang bangers move billions of dollars nationwide, yearly. In fact the inner cities as a whole have never been safer yet at the same time gang bangers have never been richer. It's more than dumb luck and numbers. I wish it wasn't but it is.

  • @Mayhem5150

Deluded World?, Lol. I live in a place Called America.

And also the Gang Banger's work on a local scale, just because it all add's up on a national scale, with larger gang's doesnt make them some professional or something. It's a little more then Dumb luck and numbers, your right.

It's accurate gang shootings, Drive by's that kill 8 Year old unaffiliated kids, it's resolving EVERY Situation with blatantly stupid violence and verbal harassment. Mike is on a WHOLE other level.

  • @blizzy00 what do you know about modern gangs?

  • @deepfried13

I have been in physical altercations with three of them. And also if you watch a marathon of the stupid program " Gangland " you learn enough to know that they are not dangerous. Just dangerously stupid and willing to do anything for Crack Cocaine and or 23 Dollars.

Please dont bother pitching me some BS speech about how you are a 15 year old white kid , banging for a Crip Set' or something. Nobody cares. What i stated got as many thumbs up as it did because it's true.

  • @blizzy00 You should say that to a gangbanger then

  • @n0m4xx

    ROFL

Right, im going to talk shit, to a gang banger. That's a grade A way to an ass beating. Remember what i said about them being stupid and willing to do anything for 23 dollars?.

And honestly if someone bet me enough, i would. Granted i have a conceal and carry pistol permit, and a S&W .40 On my person at all times, and a Mossberg 500 in my trunk. I would do it if the price was right, and i had a police cruiser and EMT's on stand by.

  • @blizzy00 I think Omar from The Wire could give Mike a run for his money.

...Now that I think about it, that would be one awesome fight. Somebody make this happen!

  • @Puragus

    Not so sure about that.

I mean, Omar' is a gang banger. Mike...is a trained Operator. With ex Police and detective training, not to mention connections to more Law Enforcement Agency files than even a Police Sgt. Omar' did not have the same training and connections that Mike did. Omar' has connections for Crack and sawed off Shotguns. Mike has connections for Melting People, and Barret .50 Caliber Army grade weapons. They can be slightly compared, but Mike's simply more professional.

  • @blizzy00

I think you're underrating the gang bangers- a few of them are really good at what they do as The Wire shows. Anyway Omar isn't really a gang banger, he's a guy who steals from gang bangers for a living, and he's so good at it that every gang in Baltimore is terrified of him. He evaded both the gangs and BPD for years, so even Mike might have trouble finding him. In his own way he's as professional as Mike. I'm not saying he would definitely win, but its not a one sided fight.

  • @blizzy00 they would still fuck you up though

  • @blizzy00 I'd like to see the Stanfield crew from the wire go up against Gus' enforcers
