I was using a very similar,but perfected form of that cast,back in the 1980's.

His technique is not perfect for that style of cast.

I have cast,using that technique,alongside Paul Kerry at Pevensey,in a competition & my casting distance was equal to Paul's.

At the time,I had 2 Paul Kerry 9680 rods with 2 Abu UltraMag 3 reels,using 7oz long tail breakaway bombs.

I've just re-viewed this video after practising my casting and to brush up & it was a great help. I use a longer drop & lean further in to the cast though as it gives more compression although space isn't always there to be able to lean in I know. I did however burn my thumb so do take notice of the "thumby" advice, LOL
