  • I am tire of fighting at legs and feet O.O

  • lol so many debuffs

  • Comment removed

  • I know it's because of that guys, it's just my dad doesn't want to pay for this game. Also this game is so awsome but too bad I won't get to play it for a couple of years. (Even though I have $120 from my birthday.)

  • Spank'* Even

  • Tank n slank much ? ;)

  • when it said inavder defated all i could say was.....get owned monster -_-

  • DET ÄR ORLIMLIGT!

  • £9 a month a small price to pay for a game you can't complete and itll be a change from wow for once that game died with cata

  • Has anyone been able to find out when those big invasion events occur? Are they based on a timer? Based on how many strongholds or rifts are present? A link would be nice :)

  • @Tobikaj honostly they've all been completely random since i started playing about 4 days ago, when the developers said "dynamic" events they sure as hell are dynamic...while i was at work earlier my bro was off from class and txtd me that all hell broke loose in Silverwood this afternoon, i've only been a part of 3 colossus take downs so far from the "major invasions"...this game is so awsome from all this random shit, makes the world feel alive and in conflict

  • All it boils down to is all the kids on wow playing their "toons" are sad because the adults left for a game with better graphics, world events and basically more of everything. Nobody to carry them for their gear anymore=sad panda haters.

  • I hate it that you need to Subscribe! RIFT producers said that the polished out the flaws in MMO's. Well guess what, they made the same flaw as WoW, and thats Subscription fees. Paying Extra money to play! People are already upset with the subscription fee. I wanted to buy RIFT, not subscribe.

  • @SpeedBeethoven you're subscribing to pay for the server and to keep the game maintained and updated...for that i have no problem subscribing, $15 a month is nothing if ya work! a MMO has such a rediculous amount of replay value other games pale in comparison, with that being said the cost of 1 new console game is $65 after tax, that's 4 months of RIFT, buy playing RIFT im actually saving money from not buyin other games and by the time im done those games will be on sale!

  • @SpeedBeethoven

15x+50. 15(4)+50= $110 dollars so in 4 months you would have spent 110 dollars. If you buy a new/used game without subscription which would be a console game every month or close to a month for 4 months you will be spending $250-300. I don't know about you but I'd much rather buy a subscription game like rift. Especially since you will be getting hundreds of hours of replay value.

  • @SpeedBeethoven Servers cost a lot of money to provide and maintain. Games that need them need continual income. Much better a sub plan then something where you have to pay for advantage in the game. I'm happy to pay for services that I want to continue to be provided. Sub games are worth it if you really enjoy it and play it quite a bit. If you won't, don't sub.. but you can't expect a company to give away something that costs them money.

  • @rikahollings What bout guild wars 1 &2. If they can't do so can the others, there are ways to make money and keep the subscribers happy which is exactly what the Guild Wars franchise is doing

  • @azladazla Not to mention GW2 is far better than Rift cause it provides something that no mmo gives:Freedom

  • @MrTechnova GW2 isn't even out yet moron. And how is GW2 the ONLY game to give you "freedom"...? Do you even know what you're talking about?

  • @MrKevin396 If you played GW 1 then you would understand, but seeing your comment you haven't. Guild wars was an mmo that didn't rely on RNG(random # generator), actually only mob and boss drops where base on RNG, everything else players had the freedom to do whatever they want, weapon upgrades, crafting, dying, etc. GW 2 will be the same as a fact with a player driven story, players descisions with affect the overall enviroment and story of the GW world. Please STFU until you do research.

  • @MrTechnova No no no.. sorry.. you're a moron.

  • @MrKevin396 And you're a troll that has no idea what you're talking about, I'm done feeding you troll time to starve.

  • @SpeedBeethoven. Go play a F2P kids MMO then. Moron...

  • @SpeedBeethoven 15 a month is pretty cheap anyway..be glad its not 30.

  • @SpeedBeethoven What do you expect? Do you honestly believe that they can continue to host and develop a game like this without a monthly income? Get real man.

  • @SpeedBeethoven "Much better a sub plan then something where you have to pay for advantage in the game."

This is why F2p games are soo annoying.

  • That happened today but with two of them. Halfway it said in ten minutes there would be a 30 minute update. T.T

  • @MangaDathron but if you can't get enough people interested in participating, you are not going to be able to do much with the event. If there's only a few lowbies around, and those that are there won't work together, no one gets very far.

  • THat's alot of Debuffs on that thing xD

  • thats a lot of people, i thought the beta wasnt played much

  • @kevino025 Every time I was on there were always plenty of people around. Getting people to group and do things together seemed to be a bit of a struggle though.

  • I don't understand why people feel the need to compare everything on the market against each other. Perhaps they're closet fanboying a game while secretly pretending to give other games a fair shot. You know what I say?

It's not going to re-define an MMO genre, but it has its own game, lore, dynamic events, and fun exploration just like any other game. Enjoy it for what you can find it in that makes you happy. That being said, I absolutely love rift and have have pre-ordered it.

  • @Shimus36 Yes this is true, but it's annoying to see it's trailers trying to destroy Blizzards gaming community. I would have actually bought this game until I saw the one thing it's interested in. "You're not in Azeroth anymore, it's a stupid sell out point and will fail just like Aion.

  • It's a simple business tactic really. WoW like it or not, is the Juggernaut of the MMO market currently. Of course new MMOs will try to become the "WoW Killer" - it's only natural. I do agree however that it is very tacky to advertise it in animated banners. You can do it more subtlety, in my opinion.

I don't think Aion failed because of bad sales rep or advertisement, honestly. At the time it was being talked about and it was the big thing, WoW was releasing Cata. It couldn't be helped.

  • @Shimus36 Erm, my bad. Wrath of the Lich King even. Lack of sleep.

  • @Yunalesca1990 So their marketing campaign should be "You can still play WoW, just give us a try, too!"

    .....

It's marketing. Don't blame the game developers because the people in charge of marketing don't make commercials you like. "I was going to buy a Ford, until I saw a Ford ad with a cute kitten in it! Everyone is doing cute kittens. That's why I bought Chevy!" Makes about as much sense, right?

  • The only reason WoW got to be more creative with their fights is because mods like DBM and such vame around and made the fights easier. In vanilla the fights were alot similar to what rifts are now, tank and spank and maybe kill a few adds and maybe move out of the fire. With no addons that give you warnings yet, than it's harder to see and requires much more skill. Just give it sometime and if he creation still fails, than the fight designers need to be fired.

  • @Disturbedfreak2013

Devs should understand that now, 5 years after the fact and start building basic features granted by dbm into the games they make. or allow for add on systems like wow does (probably one of the biggest reasons it has succeeded for so long is because many small flaws can be gotten rid of just by downloading the right set of add-ons).

  • Three words....

    The Old Republic

  • @Bstn45 Three words....

    rift is better

  • @jamesp121234

ROFL. What does rift bring to the MMO? Oh thats right absolutely nothing. Hack and smash, grind to end game, what the fuck am i doing, MMO...oh yay.

    Old Republic

    1. Fully Voiced MMO

    2. Cover system

    3. Character choices/decisions that affect actual game play

    4. Companions

Im just saying, MMOs need innovation now a days. Many players are tired of WOW and i dont see them leaving WOW to play another WOW ripoff is all.

  • @Bstn45 LOL'd

    On a serious Note:

    1. I doubt that character voices will be the diffrence between a good and a bad mmo :)

    2. Cant see the Cover system being anything but annoying. it works well with the SW universe due to the way battles work. Not a good thing for this kind of genre.

    3. All games have this. They just added it to the next lvl. Not an MMO tho. Its just a multiplayer addition of "Dragon Age".

    4. Name an MMO that does NOT have companions in some sort of way.

    Both games look good

  • @Zlashrogue Not a fan of SWTOR... but...

    1. When you don't want to read long walls of text, with the voice system, you know what is going on.

    2. I am quite mad that the Cover system isn't for all classes, except Jedi and Sith. It'll make battles more interesting to watch.

    3. The next level is a big step, in my opinion.

    4. Ragnarok Online.

  • @Bstn45

Voice acting in large chunks can be translated into - tens of thousands (probably more like hundreds of thousands) of dollars they took away from the development team and payed actors for something that wont really make a bad game good, just make a good game better. how is choice a new thing? talent trees, specs anyone? companions aren't new either... im not saying that TOR wont be decent but, not for the reasons you listed...

  • @jamesp121234 Three words....

    I agree completely

  • Are there no loot from bosses in this game? looks kinda boring to be a pay to play game:S

  • love that you are barely hitting him bcause of lvl

  • I would like to see the games with the UI that WoW "stole" from. When WoW came out, it was blew all the others out of the water and was revolutionary.

  • @leggomyeeko Wow got most of it's interface layout from Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, and Asheron's Call. When WoW came out, it was a direct ripoff of earlier games with a different lore. That's pretty much how most of these games are. They each have their own twist, but they're all basically the same game.

  • id have loved to do this. but i have a shitty connection on the computer and my laptops down. beta event is ending tomorrow anyway.

  • It's fucking shitty. That's WoW, but a bad copy. Look at this UI omg, the bags are the same, same place for buffs, ...

  • @gabiwow77

WoW didnt invent that interface. or the genre... and you are not the discoverer of MMOS. they were around BEFORE wow and people played them before you did

this is another generic MMO with a slight twist

the reason wow is a hit is because it the most generic mmo that has come along and so it apeals to the masses

  • @gabiwow77 OMG same place buff!!!Such a wow copy!!! -.- Like many said before.. Blizzard did not invent there game.. they stole alot of stuff from others.

  • @gabiwow77 Wow got most of it's UI from earlier games.. just a heads up.

  • @mhaneline yeah like diablo that the same company created lol

  • @gabiwow77

    You are sooo ignorant.

  • Holly shit every rift video I've seen comments for have arguments about this has copied WOW so if thats true than that means WOW has copied super Mario since in Mario you can shoot fire balls with a power up and in WOW you can shoot fire balls to

  • @beerandladies Lol that makes no sense, I see the point your making but WoW didn't copy Mario or else they would be side scrolling, using carts and jumping on people's heads. But Rift did copy some things from World of Warcraft. The names are still blue, the name font, (possibly) Azeroth, maybe more.

  • Thanks for the video - was waiting for you to put up a gameplay video!

  • God, I'm sick of these fucking WoW fanboys commenting on every single Rift video. Honestly, if you don't like the game, shut the fuck up and stop watching these damn videos. Every video is constant with "This is a WoW rip-off" or "This is the same as WoW" if you played MMO's before WoW was released you'd realise they copied from EQ1. If it ain't broken, why fix it? An MMO is an MMO, no matter what you say, EVERY MMO has copied something from a prior MMO, even WoW.

  • meh, ill wait for gw2

  • This is raiding lol.. ofc it looks boring.. it's a tank and spank.

PvP is where the fun is in mmos.

  • very boring

  • nice one Rika

  • I won't probably be the first to say this but they did a great job at copying the WoW GUI.

  • @dragon2534 pretty much what sirgriffinman said. Raids get fun because of the strategy involved, ect.

Lots of people like football. To me its a bunch of guys in tight pants doing the same thing over and over again. I'm sure its fun for the guys in tight pants.

  • @rikahollings

Hey Rika i tried to PM you but it wasn't going through.

Just got an xfx 6950 and am about to sell my old 4890. I've heard XFX gives you double lifetime warranty so long as the card is registered.

    a) is this correct?

    b) does it apply to the 4000 series?

It could be a BIG selling point for the card if I let the buyer know that they will have a lifetime warranty.

    Do please reply!

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ Sounds like that should be the case (the warranty should be good on the card) but that's not an official answer, just based on generalizations. I'm going to try to PM you a link where you can read the warranty info and make sure its applicable for the card you have, where it was bought in the world, if it was properly registed, ect. Or go to xfxforce(dot) com, select Support, then click on the link under Warranty Information. You also need your registration id.

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ i got the same card and asked xfx that same question. apparently its not true for the 4890 atleast. but, if you tell the new owner to register it again and you tell xfx you have sold it, then xfx will provide full support for the second hand product.

  • @dragon2534 It would look that way too you if you were not playing. The Giant mob reacts and uses different abillities and you have to react. Everybody has a role. Also things will get more varied i'm sure.... it is BETA. Very fun game. What your seeing is going on all over the zone and you have to defend certain citys at certain times or they will fall and you lose.

  • the problem with this game its not free,it has monthly subscription,

  • @TheWeblocker Thats pretty much the case if you want to play a good MMO. If it keeps the game well maintained and updated, and you play it on a regular basis, its worth it. Many multiplayer games aren't having dedicated servers because of the expense. This genre requires servers, so they have to have money coming in somewhere. Id rather pay a subscription fee and be part of the constituency the game has to keep happy than play a game where the devs need to keep say, advertisers happy instead.

  • @rikahollings

    never thought of that

    good one

  • @rikahollings

Tottaly agreed, and many FREE MMO´s offer gear/weapons/perks/beefits if you pay for them.

  • @rikahollings Complete agree, it needs to be maintained constantly. Also when one has a job $15 a month is absolutely nothing out of the pocket

  • @TheWeblocker No, the problem with this game is that it looks exactly the same as WoW.

  • @andyman210 It LOOKS alot like WoW (discounting the art style) on first glance. It has a lot in common w WoW, but there were a lot of things that WoW had the right idea on- Rift has alot of those things, like similar UI, ect. But when you get deeper into the games systems you see a lot of differences, alot of things that Rift took further than WoW did or did differently. It has aspects of pretty much every MMO thats been successful as well. But it has its own aspects too if you actually play.

  • @rikahollings You're probably right Rika. I just don't know. World of Warcraft has pretty much killed my passion for the conventional MMO in which I used to love so dearly.

  • @dragon2534 ofc it is its a raid -_-
