Having only learned of Horsley in the last 24 hours I watched some short clips of the crucifixion and this interview Wish I'd come across him while he was still alive quintessential Englishman playacting at debauchery thinking he's a misunderstood soul but scared to live his life in his own way But it's funny as fuck his self need to shock tells the truth about him lost and scared in a world that he hopes doesnt understand him bit sees straight thru him RIP
A superb interview for both Horsley and Ghomeshi. I enjoyed the wise, witty, and kind conversation. The personalities, so different, wove together seamlessly. How beautiful English sounds when spoken by able speakers.
Sebastian was yes extrardinarily lucid and also often very kind not to mention funny of course. I cannot bear the need to write 'was', but then again, unlike Sebastian, my working hypothesis is that the life of the Mind does not end with the body. I pray that Sebastian's insight and profound courage and goodwill will carry him to a place of less suffering where he may grow strong again and continue to share with others all he has to offer. PS I happen to think he was a very good artist.
I bought Sebastian's book 'Dandy in the Underworld' only a couple of months ago. I was blown away by the comments of praise on the back of the book...every rock star....fashion designer you could think of.....a brilliant Dandy. R. I.P,
RIP Sebastian. There are so few people like him in the world. It is sad to see someone like him leave it, but he would have wanted to go out just as he did. Bon Voyage! I hope they have Dandyism on the other side!
Quality interview. I love his honesty. Even when Sebastian is wilfuly provocative, I think that through his whirlwind of opinions/quotes lies a truly empathetic soul. An existential romantic. A little lost boy...
I'm confused a bit, was he middle class as a child or rich? Is it him lying to look more like a Dandy? If he was middle class how did he get so fucking rich?
A most amazing interview - It's quite a thing that he can use so many big words, actually knows what they mean and can place them in a style that's artisitcally entertaining. I love what Sebastian has said, I love his style, I love the world he has created for himself. Having said all this, in the end I still think he's full of it. Very full of it. Looking forward to seeing the next interview with Sebastian.
I really do think that Horsley uses some notes (other than the mental kind) during interviews. And I agree with Wilde: leave when you've got nothing else witty to say.
I've watched this video a couple of times, just because Sebastian is so seemingly brilliant. I wonder though, here in this video, does he have notes set up on the table in front of him? Doesn't it look like it>
fifty years ago he would have been horsewhipped. two hundred years ago he would have been burned at the stake. You call that "progress"? Richard Strange x
There's rather a sweet spot of fan artwork worth a google - 'Dandy in a hall of mirrors'

Help me out YouTube, what did he and Nick Cave have together? Was it an antagonistic friendship, or something more Freudian as Horsley implies?
