get ahead on the score board is #1 rule of knock out rugby...the ABs had plenty of opportunties to bang over a drop goal but we persisted with hit ups around the ruck until we inevitably turned the ball over. The French defence was great, helped no end by a ref who refused to penailise them for offside or infringments at the ruck area for the entire second half

the all blacks had no chance for a drop goal because the french defence were offside most of the game. watch the replay. then the referee hands mcalister a yellowcard for standing his ground. mcalister was doing what he was meant to do but the french player runs into him and had to act hollywood and milked the yellowcard(they think its soccer?). then finally the icing on the cake. the french win by a forward pass try. the ref dosent even look at replay.. corruption.. its absolutely disgusting.

Im not usually one to blame a ref for a loss, but in this game one cant help but point out the massive impact Barnes had on the matches outcome.

How come France dont get the chokers tag? they've been in the finals more than the All Blacks and they still havent won the tournament once? As for England...how did they beat france in 2007?? because Kaplan penalised the French inside their half and Wilko slotted the goal, the ABs were never given the opportunity the entire second half

France in rugby are like the Italians in football...

In football, you can watch Italy play other countries and play doing nothing special, pretty average, missed chances, under-achieve etc.

BUT when it comes to crunch time and your own team is in the knock-out stage of a world/european cup, you do not want to play the Italains. Why? Because the Italains know how to win a game.

Same for the French in rugby, especially this QF. They did the same to Wales last Friday night in Paris :-( lol.

re: Mcalister yellow card...the Fijians didn't have an problems scoring 2 tries when they were 14 points down and a man short against the eventual RWC CHAMPIONS = BOKKES...I see no reason why a class side like the ALLblacks should be bitching about that yellow card when they were in the lead and dominating the game.

its true, the all blacks should have been well in the lead, and shouldnt have let a forward pass and shitty yellow card hinder their progress. the calls were shit, but the all blacks shouldve been so far ahead it didnt matter. but look at the ABs trinations and bledisloe record, look at all the test matches against northern hemisphere teams. they kick ass for 4 years then screw up one game. they fucked up, but give em some respect, and realise that since RWC isnt everything, ABs are still no.1

Tri Nations and Bledisloe cup? it only has 3 teams in it, only 1 of those teams reached the semis. Since rugby went pro after 1995, NZ has never reached the a final. The Webb Ellis Cup is the holy grail of rugby, it's the only time in a rugby calender when all players from 20 countries give all to make their national teams and play in the 1.5 month tournament. NZ were a good team and should've walked the tournament, but they lacked mental toughness to make it happen..it was obvious

perhaps you didnt read the rest of my post.....i mentioned the boks as winners of the RWC only so i could point out that nz have smashed them in the trinations 3 years running. you praise the RWC as the "holy grail of rugby", yet when the champions of this holy tournament are spanked convincingly by another team (for several consecutive years), that team gets no respect, and are refered to as "soft chokers".
