Fennecs are canines, but don't always have behaviors similar to domestic dogs. In that this video is certainly useful, and it does have a purpose.

Your right. In fact, I have several working in my Chinese coal refinery right now. They work in two shifts, 12 hours each. I do my best to keep them safe, but accidents do happen. I usually get at least three or four years out of them before tuberculosis sets in. You wouldn't expect that to happen though, as they get a steady diet of meat from dolphins, sea turtles, endangered tigers, baby fur seals and emperor penguins.

A word of advice to everyone: If you are looking to have a fennec fox as a pet,
You must realize that these are wild animals, not domestic ones.
Also, they carry rabies and other genetic diseases. If one were to bite you (which a wild animal is prone to do), and find yourself frothing at the mouth - contact your nearest hospital immediately.

@FlowCell It may not be "joy", but this is educational for people who want to know how to distinguish a fennec that is angry or scared from one that is merely excited. Fennecs are canines, but don't always have behaviors similar to domestic dogs. In that this video is certainly useful, and it does have a purpose.

Your right. In fact, I have several working in my Chinese coal refinery right now. They work in two shifts, 12 hours each. I do my best to keep them safe, but accidents do happen. I usually get at least three or four years out of them before tuberculosis sets in. You wouldn't expect that to happen though, as they get a steady diet of meat from dolphins, sea turtles, endangered tigers, baby fur seals and emperor penguins.

lol it's funny when people say wild animals shouldn't be pets when Dogs and cats are in a way the same after all they used to be wolfs right and they were wild Horses used to roam the open plains of the west ( wild) Birds well are birds and are still wild but have be caged . turtles ....well their just turtles and Guenna pigs are the natural animal born in the wilds of the Andes mountains south america so every animal is wild in a way even a house dog can snap and revert back

i dont know why people assume foxes are closely related to dogs. The fennec, for example, can only eat cat food, makes cat sounds, and looks roughly the size of a housecat. Also, some if not most of the diseases foxes get are the same ones CATS get, not dogs.

@evangalilies cats and dogs were "wild animals" before. And fennecs are kept as pets in a lot of places and they're really friendly animals. This one just hasn't been around people before. If you see other videos if fennecs they look like dogs crossed with cats. And they're perfectly fine.

You can also find MANY videos of upset cats and dogs, but they are still great pets. Granted, Fennec Foxes are different from a regular domesticated animal, they are still great pets. also, fennec foxes nip LIGHTLY to show affection, they may have really sharp teeth but, when they show affection, they bite softly, it's just like light tapping on the end of a pencil.
this one would bite HARD because it was angry.
if you find other videos when they bite, you'd see no blood or marks, they only bite hard when angry.
