Building plans these days..... I mean just look 50 years ago, and now. Imagine what it would be like in a couple hundred more years! And that hyper city.... The look of it just reminds me of my dream world!

The Hyper city reminds me or Halo reach. Now what are they going to do about earthquakes in the near future i highly doubt these structures they are trying to build are going to withstand them one crack and the building is just a potential  death trap

so we are to assume that this place will be a city but rely on another city (tokyo) for a fire department. They wont have a ready water supply in case of emergencies like this? What about a lock down to enclose this area on fire. Of course this will kill plenty of people, but so will the construction of this building. It just wont work. Not to mention a power supply. They never mentioned how they would get power. And solar power is not an option for this massive tower.

Because the tallest building on earth have now [Burj Khalifa] has only 33 less floors and is only 172M shorter then the Sky City is visualised as.

Ah well can't wate for the buildings on the moon/mars they'll probably be the length of the equator :P

Those hyper cities will might erase the historic landmarks off the face of Earth. Future generations will have a massive protest against this issue. I think we should just leave the landmarks alone and build just one Sky City.

Why not simply ban various flammable materials... not use gas for heating and not allow wooden furniture, certain carpeting and such? I'm sure non-flammable and flame-retardant building materials would go a long way too.

@picmario I know these helicopters from the forest fires we have here during hot summers. They are semi-useless. Firefighting airplanes "canadair" are better, but only for forest fires. The best firefighting plane is a russian model, it has a big tank, I don't remember the model name.

2160 is what the video proposed. 2060 for this structure is possible. However, largely not possible. How many people and business will relocate? This structure would take at least years to build. Businesses would have to abandon their operations in tokyo and relocation of business centres is definitely not an option, time wasted = less money.

The thing is how will people respond living in cities like this?

since i was a little, i've been watching a lot of japanese manga and anime and realised much of the creators' imagination of the future. some ideas that were unthought of now become possible. i definitely think our future world will become sort of like this, with colossal amount of concrete and technology involving in our everyday lives.
