Building plans these days..... I mean just look 50 years ago, and now. Imagine what it would be like in a couple hundred more years! And that hyper city.... The look of it just reminds me of my dream world!
That would be awesome to see it would take tens of years to make but knowing the Japanese it would take a year LOL but still it would just be awe inspiring to see something like this you could see it from miles around
The Hyper city reminds me or Halo reach. Now what are they going to do about earthquakes in the near future i highly doubt these structures they are trying to build are going to withstand them one crack and the building is just a potential death trap
so we are to assume that this place will be a city but rely on another city (tokyo) for a fire department. They wont have a ready water supply in case of emergencies like this? What about a lock down to enclose this area on fire. Of course this will kill plenty of people, but so will the construction of this building. It just wont work. Not to mention a power supply. They never mentioned how they would get power. And solar power is not an option for this massive tower.
Those hyper cities will might erase the historic landmarks off the face of Earth. Future generations will have a massive protest against this issue. I think we should just leave the landmarks alone and build just one Sky City.
rather than building taller skyscrapers perhaps instead we should build pyramids like ancient egyptians to house people, stores, businesses, anything else!!
ROFL 300 Gallon tanks on the choppers ROFL thats like pissing on a forest fire. Perhaps a dispersed Hallon system would be better or.... DON'T USE EXPLOSIVE GAS LOL.
That Hypercity is insane, but it's so cool, and awesome. Maybe it might happen in the 2200's-2300's of course I would be dead, but I would be so jealous of my future great grandchildren :D.
Why not simply ban various flammable materials... not use gas for heating and not allow wooden furniture, certain carpeting and such? I'm sure non-flammable and flame-retardant building materials would go a long way too.
By the time they build this, there will be such good fire suppression systems, we won't need those helicopters. It's so awesome when people dream big for the future, even if this could be a hundred years from now.
@picmario I know these helicopters from the forest fires we have here during hot summers. They are semi-useless. Firefighting airplanes "canadair" are better, but only for forest fires. The best firefighting plane is a russian model, it has a big tank, I don't remember the model name.
@ZZZJOELBZZZ There would be much isomnia I guess. Even the water inside the toilet is wavy. Some emploees who work inside offices inside high skyscrapers are getting dramamine pills. :p
I mean seriously, why plan now if your not going to end up living to see it. I'd be more interested in being immortal than living in this thing. Immortality and the halting of aging is far more important than this. Then they should focus on building this thing. :P
I think the worst problem would not natural disasters, but adopting and updating technology as its being constructed. Ways of building might change in decades so will technology as a whole , so I'm wondering what degree of flexibility in adapting will this building have?
First off, learn how to spell, please. As soon as I saw that you spelled human wrong, I kind of subconsciously disregarded everything else you said. It made you seem way less intelligent.
Secondly...stop being so insanely paranoid. You obviously don't realize where computers have gotten us in this world. That person in the hospital with 1% chance of survival? There wouldn't be an option to keep him/her alive without a machine helping, most likely.
Its an what-if situation. It could be build in a teenagers life time or less. If they do make a building this big they will want to keep it for a long time.
2160 is what the video proposed. 2060 for this structure is possible. However, largely not possible. How many people and business will relocate? This structure would take at least years to build. Businesses would have to abandon their operations in tokyo and relocation of business centres is definitely not an option, time wasted = less money.
The thing is how will people respond living in cities like this?
i know its retarded but its cuz tokya is too overcrowded or somehting which is some bs they just need to stop having so much kids lol there ur problems are solved people!
stop having people to have sex? That is retarded of you to even say that. India is overpopulated so is China. Both of them manage to find ways overcoming it. Japan is a nation of technology, everything they do is inspired by it. But how many people in Japan would agree to this? Japanese custom is part of nature, doing this destroy their lives. Being technological is good, but there is no need to build structures like this.
It would definatly change a culture, and a way of life as WE in this generation know it, especially if there were many that started replacing cities. Each building would become it's own county, you know...that's if it replaced cities.
Wonder if it would just be for the elite...probably at first.
since i was a little, i've been watching a lot of japanese manga and anime and realised much of the creators' imagination of the future. some ideas that were unthought of now become possible. i definitely think our future world will become sort of like this, with colossal amount of concrete and technology involving in our everyday lives.
its just all about engineering.. the way i understand regarding factors prior on this view is not the solution. if considering population, i would suggest family planning simply the best.
I watched this show before. but everytime I see it, it gives me goose bumps! pretty fascinating and it could very well become a reality in the near future.
Aint you know that the worst possible place on Earth is far more hospitable than anywhere on Mars? It is much easier engineering a thousand 'sky cities' than first reaching Mars in a manned mission and engineering the whole Martian smaller planet just to support primitive life, talk less of building a hut.
its alrght, to be honest, its kind of scary and for me i wont be the one that wants to move in...it just doesnt seem right....i mean we are not ready for this kind of buildings yet....i love the cities we have now and the nature..
well it ould create a landmark and thats pretty important for a modern city, to attract turists and such factors, well id say this is much cooler than 100000 standard blocks.

what was the tallest building wen this was being produced?
Because the tallest building on earth have now [Burj Khalifa] has only 33 less floors and is only 172M shorter then the Sky City is visualised as.
Ah well can't wate for the buildings on the moon/mars they'll probably be the length of the equator :P

Reminds me of the sci-fi novel The World Inside, where most humans live in giant self-contained skycraper cities with no population control.
