'Err ... solar panel 'esque and submersible | submarine capabilities, along with advanced tech stealth and defense features ...? No, but the suggestion is there, right? Many utterly FUTURIST design attributes, besting others' iterations of this vocabulary; for that reason its nails an B- overall, with certain B+ attributes scores.
Holy shit it looks like an amalgalmation of a 200SX, a Delorean and a Dodge Conquest on steriods! Props to those guys for a gutsy design. Too much glass for my taste tho. Just makes it look too Jetson-ish.
@Pookie2419 Yes infact that would have been a great name should Lamborghini have made it. The Lamborghini frog Opened its eyes and went back to sleep. It has a ring to it, doesn't it?
I'm in shock with all these beautiful prototypes turned to waste. I bet these babies would sell like candy these days with all the retro revivalism going on in the automotive industry and, in fact, all sorts of areas.
wow, I remember this was one of the cars that made me love Italian sportscars. 30 years since ive seen what was so beautiful and a design statement. Check out the front flush windscreen, you still dont see cars with that even now
@deepmelody1991 - HI ! those wheels came with the car , a one off by Bertone
coachmaker style center.This one off actually had been widely tested and ,if memory serves, there are somthing like 30000 miles on the tacho. I guess they fancied to start with a numbered production but times were already changing and Lambo was living its decline.
this work is derivative, but only of his own work. the 1970 stratos prototipo is quite possibly,(in my own opinion) the most beatiful automotive sculpture i have ever seen. everything from it's alien abstraction,to it's mechanical inventiveness and presentation combine for a most exotic blend. nuccio bertone has cast a shadow i will never come from under. pure brilliance.
I'm in love..

@modelleg
How? The original Countach LP500 was shown in 1971 already, and the first customers got their Countach LP400 in 1974.
If anything this was inspired from the Countach, maybe to make a "baby-countach".

A futuristic work of art; even by todays' standards. Not putting this car into mass production was a colossal mistake.

Did those wheels come with the car in 1974, or were they put on later on? Could it be that the video typo'd the year of the prototype?

Completely agree with you. It makes sense cause the Esprit was a Bertone design as well.

as if it had to be put into production.
