The only problem I've seen with the Storm is it being the least reliable piece of shit smartphone ever. lol. Storm II wasn't as bad, but still not the greatest device RIM released.
my phone is runnin alot smoother now, i got the .114 installed, the pattern lock thing going on and allot more apps jumpn off, the only major prob i still hav is the resets, my phone jus turns off and reboots itself like 3times a day...other then that i love my BB storm....well its a love/hate relationship
Reduce the number of icons on your phone. I have placed all my icons in folders or hid them. i only have 8 icons on my screen. Also remove programs you are never going to use to free up memory. One other thing. You can clear the event log by typing "/"/ on the keyboard when the response gets to slow.

You have too many programs open. Hold down the blackberry button, an a list of all of the open applications will open. pick one, open it, then press the blackberry button again, and select 'close'. Too many open apps WILL crash your storm.
this was a problem before they updated the phones that are out now. If you got an older one, apparently they rushed to get them out and didn't have the bugs out. Just download the updated version and all of THESE problems are supposed to be solved by now.
the blackberry is a very cool phone. yu just got to learn how to adapt to it. thats about it. my Storm works great.! no lag whats so ever, just try not going crazy with it and use 6 different things at the same time. Perfect Phone.

There has been a revision to the phone since this video was made and another is soon to come up to speed the phone up. Verizon released the earliest version of the Storm against the wishes of Blackberry. But since the phone is Contract Specific to Verizon, they won the argument. It was all about getting this phone out before Christmas 2008. Sit tight for some upgrades on the Verizon Website.

I know we all hate to read manuals, but knowing all the tips, shortcuts & how to utilize your settings will help you to enjoy this beast they call the "Storm" :) Another tip is to go to options to turn down your screen from 100 to maybe 10-30. This will help on battery life. Crank it up to 100 when you need a flashlight! Your storm comes with manufacturers default settings. Change them to your liking.
i just downloaded the .85 upgrade for my phone...the leaked version of course and it seems to be working with no problems i will post a video on it soon...look 4 it
Hey brandonreyes. Before you return your storm check out alex5252tip's video. He talks about how to improve the speed & overall performance of your keyboard for texting. Also check out mobileburn's video titled "tips for text editing on the blackberry storm". It makes editing much faster and accurate.
go to the verizon store and ask them to update it and suff, although im thinking about returning my storm for a curve because i dont like how hard and slow it is to text on it. if you have any suggestions on how to text on it could you contact me?

i totally know why, when you either open browser or any spplication without fully closing it, it makes the sensor in the blackberry completely slow.. many people have this issue. always shut it down then power it up and then it will be faster,, Please tell me if this works and i hope it does !!! peace
Your welcome. I haven't heard any problems with the .83 update thus far, but it would be good to do some research on it yourself. Perhaps you have a defective Storm (horrible think to think I know) but some people's Storms have accelerometer trouble even after the .75 update, and some work perfectly. I have heard of some that worked fine with the launch firmware, but who knows. Yes it would probably be best to check into the .83 update or at least have a Verizon store look your Storm. :)

Yeah like lynxnjynx said, you must have the launch firmware which was very buggy. Update to the 4.7.0.76 firmware and it should fix your problem. If you want, you can find the new leaked 4.7.0.83 firmware online and use that, which is even better (it makes the accelerometer almost instantaneous). However download that firmware at your own risk as it isn't official yet, anyways good luck and enjoy your Storm! (I still haven't got on yet but it'll happen soon! XD)
You just need to update your software. You probably have OS version .65. The newest version is .76 I think. It will correct your lag problems & you will love your phone again.

The way to fix this quickly is to rotate the Storm 180 degrees and then go back into the normal, upright, position.
