PLUS income tax goes from 25% or higher (depending on income) to 9% as well. WE WILL be paying LESS taxes. 999calculator (dot)net

Any national sales tax is stupid because it penalizes retail activity, making it more difficult. Retail is one of the most important mechanisms of production, and that's what you'd be trashing and muddying up.

Some lend it to a family member or friend. Some hide it. Some invest it in real estate. Some invest it in their own business. Some invest it in other businesses (stocks, bonds, partnerships, etc.)
Since most of our jobs and economy depend on retail spending, taxing it is counterproductive.

@sprice676 Do you understand that there is currently a 22% of 'hidden taxes" on products that enter into the scene through production/warehousing/manufacturing/ etc. With the implementation of 999, that 22% would have to go away before the 9% is applied. 22+8=30% (current) REMOVE the 22% REPLACE with 9% gives you 9+8=17%. 30-17=13% SAVED. PLUS income tax goes from 25% or higher (depending on income) to 9% as well. WE WILL be paying LESS taxes. 999calculator (dot)net

If there is a 9% sales tax applied at every level as it is now, we will be paying more. If not, we would still be counting on these companies to lower their prices to properly reflect their reduced taxes, and who's to say they will do that?

It's part of his main explanation to tell people that there are hidden taxes that disappear FIRST ... THEN 999 in implemented. As for the companies. I see your point, BUT what will cause them to lower them even WITH the removal of the 22% is the uprising in new business & competition :o) it really is a win/win for the people.
