  • thats baby lu

  • Nice video!I love thai food! Thanks for sharing!

  • the Malays built Langkasuka civilization there about 1000 years ago.

"taleegeepat" is a corrupted Malay words of "tari kipas" by Siam colonialists. tari = dance, kipas = fan.

the song been using in this video is called "Inang Tiong Hua"...Inang = old female palace servant, Tiong Hua = Chinese. "Inang" music is a Malay traditional music mixed/influenced with Chinese elements developed in a palace of Malacca kingdom in the time of Admiral Cheng Ho visits 600 yrs ago.

  • hi, lovely dance!

does anyone know where these dacers are from? are they UK based? were looking for some traditional Thai acts to perform at a big event in the UK in march this year, and would love some more info about these dancers! thanks.

  • when muslim malays from malaysia came to southern thailand, they brought with them this dance, their muslim religion and other cultural aspects. they intermarried with the local thai population and obviously had children (which adopted the muslim religion). the name of this dance originally is tari kipas, but because they are in thailand, the name assimilated into the thai language and became taleegeepat. so the people who perform this dance are actually people of malay and mostly thai descent.

  • Actually, the Muslim Malays in southern Thailand are not from Malaysia. The fact is that they are the REAL natives of southern Thailand itself. They once built the powerful Kingdom of Langkasuka which is located in Pattani province about more than 1500 years ago.

Later on, the Thai-Buddhist came from south China and conquer all the Malay kingdoms in southern Thailand, such as Sultanate of Patani, Kingdom of Ligor and many others...

  • i agree with u sigap86

  • thanks

  • Sorry,is this thai dance???

  • Heyyyyy south people is not malaysian we r south.. we r thaiiiii

  • What i mean is that most of Thai Muslims do have Malays ancestry. Thai Muslims in Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani, Satun & Songkhla was actually Malays by decendent. They have very close relationship with Malay-Muslims in Malaysia because we speak the same language (Malay language) and practising the same cultural (Malay cultural). The fact is even 4% of Thais are Malays & all Malays in Thailand are Muslims!

  • So, this 'taleegeepat' dance was actually belonging to the Thai Muslims culture (or should i said Thai-Malay Muslims). The name 'taleegeepat' is actually corrupted from its Malay original name - "Tari Kipas" which means 'the fan dance'. You can found this dance not only in Thailand but also in Malaysia. The fact is this dance is originally from Malaysia.

    Hope u understand this fact!!

  • You post comment that "taleegeepat" is dancing from Malaysian and this dance is from Malaysia. You just tell other people. If you think thiss dance is Malaysian Why I and other people in the world don´t know and why you don´t show this dance in another country and tell that this is your dance.

  • thai is awesome

  • :-) Ah the Fan Dance...at our temple, we use different costumes and dance steps but it has a likeness

  • This is a Malaysian-Malay traditional dance which is called as "Tari Kipas" or the 'Fan Dance'..

This dance is originally brought by Malaysian-Malay and was introduced to southern Thais-Malay minority people...

I know this dance very well since i'm Malaysian.. ;P

  • Hey, this Ra'bum Thai is good, will for us khmer, we don't have that one. I love it. It's turely excellen.

May our nation live together under his goodnest Buddha.

  • Totally agree with you,if 90 percents of SE people stop thinking who's here first?who own this, own that? just think about future who to progress what to benefit our region. We'll be superior as we already have similar background.

  • you made a good point. :-) plus, the world would be at much more peace that way.
