  • The biggest fault for the average golfer is coming over the top.Any move that can prevent this can be called "The Magic Move". Pay particular attention to what Mark does with the right elbow from the TOP of the backswing. He drops it down towards his right hip. THAT my friends is what Harvey Pinick called "The Magic Move". Start dropping that elbow towards the right hip a split second BEFORE moving the legs and hips THEN drive those legs and hips as Mark shows.KEEP THE WRISTS VERY LOOSE!

So true--but it's also true that the over-the-top move is the biggest fault for a lot of _tour_ players, too, whenever they're going way wrong. Almost any bad move that's commonly made in the swing, especially in the application of power, tends to throw you out, over, and steep, and unless you've built structures into your swing that counteract that tendency (as most pros have), it's very difficult to resist...even for pros, sometimes. This Penick thing is a great drill for it.

  • drill? It's just the golf swing-start with hips. Where's the drill?

  • Harvey Penick.

  • thanks!
