Lynda Carter rocks! Just like in real life, just stay out of kicking distance and kickers look like imbeciles, usually winding up off balance and scared cuz they don't know if you're gonna be on them before they know it or not. Stay far enough away and they can't do squat without having to close the distance too. I like how she mimicked his kicks as if she was just toying with him and trying them out too. Her sidesteps and throws were awesome!

You have to remember this series was done THIRTY YEARS AGO.

Women action heroes were limited to WW, The Bionic Woman and (kinda) Charlie's Angels. The show plots and action were far, far slower than in any show today.

I remember watching this show when I was a kid thinking 'damn she's so fast and strong and cool' and now watching the episodes, wondering 'what the hell, they're soooo sloooooowwww...'

@sickphil71 No I never wore high heels, it's a show it was written in the script she would win. In the comics of the 1960's and 1970's Wonder Woman was nowhere near as powerful as superman. She took on such Characters as the paperman, giganta the gorilla girl, Egg Fu, the Angle, Dr. Psycho and the original Cheetah. They were nowhere near as powerful as Titano, the kryptonian dragon, Zhavam, or Brianiac that Superman fought.

I do have an issue with how the fight was executed on TV. With the exception of Superman in the 1950s, TV versions of super heroes were generally substantially weaker than their comic counterparts, especially in the 70s and 80s.

@sickphil71 One of the differences between the comic book version of Wonder Woman and the TV version of Wonder Woman is that in the comic books Wonder Woman has natural powers that can be taken away when her bracelets are bound by a man, whereas on TV the source of Wonder Woman's Amazon powers is her magic belt when she's away from Paradise Island. Also, in the comic books, Wonder Woman goes berserk when her bracelets are removed, something that doesn't happen on the TV show.

The problem with this fight scene is that this guy is such a bad martial artist, and Wonder Woman is so powerful, that you know that Wonder Woman will defeat him. The only chance that this guy had of defeating Wonder Woman in a karate fight was if he had a friend sneak up behind Wonder Woman and remove her magic belt to make her powerless. But even a powerless Wonder Woman would probably defeat him anyway, that's how weak he is.

The writers really didn't use Wonder Woman's full powers, did they? She's nearly as strong and fast as Superman. That fight could have been so much better. But hey, it was the 1970s and for its time, it must have seemed incredible the way it was.

There is the fight sequence from "The Mind Stealers From Outer Space" where she slugs it out with "Zardor". Then there is the fight sequence in "The Boy Who Knew Her Secret", she slugs it out with an Alien shapeshifter.

in the pilot episode she beats the crap out of Marsh (the spy) by punching her. in "the skateboard wiz" she punches a guy in the gut. it was less common for WW to punch, but she more often threw the bad guys and/or restrained them. it was her WONDEROUS technique!!! ;) actually, it was a departure from all the male super heros and villians that appeared on TV before her. they were making WW more original and keeping her lady-like charm intact.

Well, I have "heard" differently about why the "fight" sequences were less elaborate because supposedly "the TV censors" were cracking down on TV violence back then. So most of the fights became shoving matches.

In reality though, if you watch the first season vs the third, Lynda used a lot more kicking and punching techniques (karate inspired) in the third. First season was always the grab, shove and throw methods. Even Diana Prince used karate techniques against people that were trying to capture her.
