After the battle, many Nanking citizens, who had abhorred bad deeds done by the Chinese military in the city, welcomed the Japanese military. One of the photos shows Japanese soldiers and the Nanking citizens wearing armbands of the flag of Japan and giving cheers, on the day of the Japanese military’s ceremonial entry into Nanking ("Sino-Japanese War Photograph News #15," the Mainichi Shinbun newspaper, published on Jan. 11, 1938)
The best way to see Nanjing? By BIKE! Seriously, get a bike and just freakin' RIDE! You can pretty much cover the entire city (not the observatory though hehe =D)
I am from Nanjing and I hate Japanese... other things aside, they still don't admit the massacre, removing this from their textbook, they did the wrong, they should at least have the decency to admit they were wrong and try to change for the better.
@mrpepperoriginal I see what you're saying. But then if the "new" Japanese aren't the one who should be blamed for it then we should attack the "old" Japanese leaders. And where were the leaders from? Japan. So where are we going to blame? Where the leaders came from. And the leaders were in the country they took over (Japan).
@mrpepperoriginal (Exodus 34:6-7) - "Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; 7who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."
Most Nanjing people can clearly separate personal friendship and political/historical feud. So it would be no problem for Japanese friends to visit Nanjing.
Of course, no one would want the disaster to happen again, ever.
@xxxxxUndisputedxxxxx I don't think so,many women who were raped during the Nanking massacre were killed afterwards. Also many Chinese women aborted their babies after the 2nd world war.
@childmolester100 that sounds interesting! even your japanese characters were stolen from china. that's the best example of "copying" without any doubt. dont make fun of yourself. u should always keep my words in mind...
@childmolester100 screw you, nanjing have nothing but painful memory of Japanese raping women like animals and kill innocent civillans. Copying you? Yeah, maybe we ought to do the same to u people and see how do you like the feel of it.
Very nice and bright colours! I like the look of Nanjing! As for Japanese, everyone in China know what the Japanese did and few will ever forgive it, but if a Japanese person says the feel sorry for what was done by BAD japanese then the Chinese people will start to see you as a good Japanese rather than a bad japanese person!
NO many Chinese know about that, but most of Nanjing infrastructure was built by Japanese companies that brought technology to this city, as well as European companies that also invested in several parts of Nanjing. Nice city by the way, I hope people can realize how beautiful is this world without hate. we need peace and not hatred. Love for all and long life for all!!! That is all what I can say to you guys!!!
If you are a Japanese, you will be fine living in Nanjing. No one is going to to anything to you, although everyone in this city knows what Japanese have done in this city during WWII.
@askfskpsk yes, man! actually, i know abunch of japanese students in Nanjing myself. and they all enjoy the life there. despite what japanese did to them.... Nanjing people are extremely hospitable.
@MasterM15 : considering what the japanese imperial troops did in Nanjing don't go DREAMING for "world without hate" from the folks of Nanjing towards japanese......in other word: DREAM ON......
@MasterM15 think again, we tore down most of it and replace it with our own building. Now the only japanese building there is, is an old hotel where we keep dirty FOREIGNERS like you.
love nanjing and fuck japan forever

Friend, I understand how u MIGHT feel...
But u cant point and attack the new and young Japanese, nobody has the fault of what their fathers did, nobody.
