I saw this video back in 1995 over some guys house in San Diego CA, when my friend and I went on our 14 day road trip out west. I was waiting for someone to post it on youtube. thank you to my friend for posting this.
The live in Sweden album is absolutely stunning ...amazing interplay between the guitars and they manage to make something new and exciting out of those tired old warhorse Got My Mojo Working and Smokestack Lightnin - but this is chob !
Back then these guys were happy to get back on Television, they didn't sell out cause they sold sold sold to the highest bidder from the get go.The electric prunes were the first mainstream psych band. They were completely "over" as opposed to "underground". C'mon youngsters they were signed to Frank Sinatra's record label.
In the U.S, The Kinks were also on Sinatra's label, but at least they waited until the mid 70s before doing anything remotely resembling this.
At the time this aired, the Monkees TV show had been on for four months, so I guess the producers felt that mainstream America was ready for a bunch of long-hairs intermingling with a showbiz grande dame from a different era.
I wonder if this exists somewhere without a big HC-29 plastered across the middle.
You mean to tell me that band that knocked everyone out with "Too Much To Dream Last Night" turned into THIS?! The Monkees' "33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee" NBC special was more psychedelic that this fluff. Wow....sad.

Wowie....these 20 year old Prunes
must've had some "experience"
with ladies ☺Those sculptured hairdo's
are worth the price of admission here ☺
That they actualy pulled this of ,is something of a masterstroke though.
I can only dream of such a setting.

Oh No! That is so unlike the Prunes I thought of and liked. This clip is just pure mainstream cheese at its worst! The Monkees indeed.

It looks like The Prunes put a lot work into this!
The musical interludes are great. The fuzzed guitar in the segments @ 1:55 and 7:22 are the best!
I just checked the wiki for Cyd Charisse. She 47 years old here! WOW!
