After finding my way here from Kuro5hin, I immediately 'got' the existentialist thing, yet could not help but notice the many shots including an overcast sky. Then it hit me: Søren Kierkegaard's "Om Begrebet Ironi med stadigt Hensyn til Socrates". Now that is funny: Irony and Clouds.
The complexity and beauty of this short clip is transcending and an inspiration for all film makers out there. Just look at the composition! The subtle story being implicitly told! Ooh, my eyes weep at the discovery of this fine pearl. And when it's done, the question still lingers in the air, of whether Thorning-Schmidt shaves her legs. Truly an impressive feat.
I have to admit it took several viewings and a little contemplation before seeing in my minds-eye the many subtle japes. Then they came at me one after the other in orgasmic rushes. The best has to be, as mentioned in other comments, the hairiness or otherwise of a certain politicians legs. I won't mention the others as I would not want to spoil it for y'all.
My favorite scene is the 'Opera house', wherein the now-homeless worker from scene 1 is seen with downtrodden expression viewing the new building, paid for by the state using his taxes. A rhyme on the cue card 'metronome' reminds the viewer of scene 1 'autonome', and is one of the many whimsical touches (the pigeons viewing the broken microwave oven in scene 1 is my fave),. A celebration, and enormous indictment, of the bourgeois over the worker provided by the state.
So many concepts compressed into such a short flick: from the drawing together of the now homeless grouping on the remains of Jagtvej 69, through the No-Entry sign on the Great Kings Road, to the removal of the Little Mermaids head evoking the recent removal of the stones by the bourgeoisie thereby limiting the interactive nature of the statue to the proletariat, this short is a thought provoking piece of political art that will have an influence even outside its home in Denmark.
Very good! With the incorporation of surrealistic and existentialist qualities but very little dialogue it reminds me Angel's Egg, the classic animé by Yoshitaka Amano and Mamoru Oshii. Well done!
Luis Buñuel? I detect a obsessive surrealist subversive interest in the architecture of politcal life and how it articulates to the human condition, rather than the minutiae of the interalationship between people and state, indicating a fixation and desire for power and the wish to see power as physical size. The phalic symbolism of these protusions is not lost and the nebulous hirsute condition of Pia Kjærsgaard leg's is reminisent of L'Age d,Or and it's attack on the middle classes.
Yes, there is a disdain for literal meanings given to objects and focus is rather on the undertones, the poetic undercurrents present. Not only do they give emphasis to the poetic undercurrents, but also to the connotations and the overtones which exist in ambiguous relationships to the visual images.

Paul Potts is in the Opera Scene! It's quick, probably if you blinked, you missed it.
Yet, before a trip to the optometrist, might I suggest making an appointment with a shrink for that nasty case of multiple personality disorder.
But yay: unleash the fury that is the CAPS LOCK key!

As beautiful as the chance meeting on a dissecting table of a sewing machine and an umbrella.

*Please* let me follow the nanny. She doesn't shave her legs. Women like that are so... HOT.
